The D1 transfers are much better than these horrible DVD releases.

What is so horrible about these DVDs? I got them many years ago and I enjoy them. The best part is the commentary with the voice actors

Unfortunately there's some sort of universal audio timing issue on every release the DVDs are based from. I can't remember the specifics, only that it's a persistent problem nigh everywhere now but the source tape versions.

Audio mix is poor and the D1 to DVD conversion was not pure digital. The company that transferred the original tapes recorded to analog then mastered to DVD.

I would say maybe it's still worth it, have you look through the special features, there could be some unique commentary or behind the scenes stuff unique to that particular release/

Yes, quite true. We'd all benefit from the DVD format being retired as should have been done at least a decade ago by now. But also in this case, the Shout ReBoot DVDs are irreparably severely flawed, with distorted audio and video.

From what others have said on here (and I might have some of this wrong), these DVDs weren't made from the original master tapes but instead from some other source that's basically a copy of a copy, so the quality isn't as good as it could have been.

It's nice that they're putting them on YouTube but the bitrate leaves something to be desired. A Blu-Ray release would be preferable.

Kids, if you want Blu Rays then comment that on all the YouTube videos. Mainframe reads those and my friend Mark spent close to 2 years repairing D1 decks and transferring the source tapes

If there is enough interest then things like Beast Wars may be possible if Hasbro green lights it.

A lot of what happens next depends on fan engagement, demand, and support.

There was a Netflix series. Don't watch. It's bad. It's started as a "maybe" and then just got worse.

But, they are remastering the OG, mainframe studios is releasing it at roughly 1 episode per month. Probably will announce a blu-ray once that is complete if interest remains high
