Ready Meals: Prepared meal delivery services. (Updated 12/5/25)

Healthy prepared meals and diet delivery programs for busy people, who don't have time to cook.

Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for the sub?

Please abide by the following rules:

  1. Polite discussion at all times.

  2. Free or discounted requests and offers are only permitted in Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread.

  3. Affiliate links must be disclosed. Paid representatives must identify themselves.

  4. Do not spam your offers and requests in Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread.

  5. Don't offer or accept cash transactions for promotional offers.

TL;DR:

Discussion > Top Level Posts

Promotion > Official Monthly Request & Offer Sharing Thread

NOTE: If your post has links, referrals, QR codes, gift cards or prices in the headline or description, then you are promoting.

ANY POST WITH VISIBLE QR CODES WILL BE REMOVED

ANY POST WITH LINK EXTENSIONS WILL BE REMOVED

See Reddit's Content Policy

Commonly Asked Questions:

Where should I post my offer or discount request?

You should post all offers and discounts in the Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread.

Where should I post my offer or discount request questions?

Again, you should post all offer and discount questions in the Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread.

Why was my post removed?

You posted an offer or discount request somewhere other than the Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread. (See Rule #2)

Top level posts are for discussion not promotion. If you are promoting then you are violating the rule.

Therefore, if your post has commercial links, referrals, QR codes, gift cards or prices in the headline or description then you are promoting.

You violated one of the other four sub rules. (See Rules above)

Note: Your link may have been removed by a Reddit Admin spam filter because it used a link shortener or it re-directs.

See Reddit Comment Formatting for the proper way to shorten a link.

What is a top level post?

A primary or original post that initiates a discussion or thread by a user.

What is an official post?

Any stickied post by a Mod or Admin in a particular forum.

Why was I warned about duplicate posts?

You repeatedly added the same link to the Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread, in order to gain exposure. Do not spam your referral links. (See Rule #4)

  • Add one unique item per month.

  • Feel free to edit & delete previous items or update your offers or discounts.

  • Duplicate posts will be removed.

What is a generic link?

Generic links for informational purposes (xyzDOTcom) are fine in the comments. Provided, they simply state the domain without any extensions. Any link that uses a link shortener or has extensions beyond the domain URL will be removed. Any referral links outside of the sticked Request and Offer Thread will be removed.

What are “Free Boxes”?

Promotional offers for new Meal Kit services. Prepared Meal services generally only offer discounts.

What are affiliate links?

Affiliate links are referrals that connect to a specific account and give that person some sort of perk if someone else clicks them. Paid representatives must identify themselves. These links usually say "affiliate" or "partner" in the extension.

For example, in response to "Which meal service would be good for These links usually say "affiliate" or "partner" in the extension. eaters?", instead of posting:

I think Sunbasket would be a good match.

Please post something like:

I think Sunbasket would be a good match. Here's my personal referral link for Sunbasket, $90 off your first order

Disclosure: Please note that if you sign up for Sunbasket with the example links above, /u/tiltedsun will actually receive an account credit.

What can I trade here?

Some folks will trade their “Free Box” credits for other “Free box” credits from competing food services. Others, may trade their discounts for other discounts with competing food services.

What is account churning?

Creating multiple accounts in order to generate introductory discounts. This practice will get you barred from most services. Discussing those methods in this forum violates Reddit’s terms of use.

What is REDACT software?

A type of anonymizing software to remove comments after a time interval. This software may be employed by trolls and paid affiliates and its use is not allowed in this forum.

Can I post under multiple accounts?

No, posting multiple offers under multiple account ID's will get you Banned.

Can I request cash for discounts or services?

No, we wish to avoid cash exchanges as they may violate Reddit's policy against prohibited transactions.

(See Rule #5)

What is a QR code?

A QR code is a matrix barcode that looks like a pixelated postage stamp. These are active links and should only be posted in the Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread. Please blur or remove any QR codes in your photos or your post will be removed. (Again, see Rule #2)

Will I get anything for offering my Prepared Meal discount here?

This depends on the Prepared Meal service you are using but you should be transparent at all times (see Rule #3).

Most services offer direct discounts to users for promotion of their service. Please disclose the details of your offer.

Who will enforce these exchange agreements?

No one will, Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware). Please honor your exchange agreements, if any.

What kind of packaging do these services use?

Most meal kit services use biodegradable packaging. Cardboard boxes and gel ice packs surrounded by cotton fiber insulation or reflective style foil bags. YMMV

Are Prepared Meals cheaper than shopping?

No, you are paying for prepared food and convenience. Cooking for yourself is always cheaper.

However, some individuals find they waste less and have more time with Prepared Meals, especially during a busy work week.

Are Meal Kits cheaper than shopping?

Most likely not but you are paying for the convenience of delivered supplies and recipe formulation.

What is the difference between Meal Kits and Prepared Meals?

  • Meal Kits are food ingredients and recipe formulations.

  • Prepared Meals are microwave or oven ready meals.

Are Meal Kits cheaper than Prepared Meals?

Generally, you can find Meal Kits that are geared for value.

However, there are gourmet kits that cost as much as Prepared Meals. They will have unique recipes and higher quality ingredients.

Why was my shortened link removed?

Your link was removed by a Reddit Admin spam filter (Auto Mod) because it uses a link shortener or re-directs. The spam filter removes all URL shorteners as they may be used to hide domain names and evade domain bans. Only direct referral links are allowed.

Why was my survey poll removed?

We remove survey links because they tend to be spam, harvesting user data. You need to identify yourself or the organization you represent. Survey spam is a recurring problem. We have people posing as students, farming ID's. Surveys are fine if they are anonymous and don't require registration or ID.

Do not ask for personal contact information from users.

We only allow anonymous Reddit polls, using the Reddit app.

Why was I banned from the sub?

Pick one or all of the following:

  • You were warned repeatedly.

  • You were argumentative.

  • You disregarded a mod directive.

  • You used multiple ID's to spam.

  • You tried to evade a temporary ban.

What is Ban Evasion?

You can answer or pose any questions you like, in any thread.

However, please use the stickied Monthly Request & Offer Sharing Thread for any referral discounts. You can mention and refer to that discount thread in your comments. Do not post direct links in comments.

Normally, generic links (xyzDOTcom) are fine in comments but we frown on personal referral links in comments. As you represent a commercial entity, all of your links are links are considered referrals.

Use of multiple ID's to spam will not be tolerated. We welcome your participation and you may promote your services within these guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

may have asked this before worded differently but here goes. ANY of these companies focus on single people? Everyone one of them have 2 to 4 servings per cook. ( I can deal with it. but would prefer something targets to a solo eater.)

as per title. they all seem to have a minium of 2 servings and never give official instructions for cooking only one? does anyone know a company that has single serving options? or instructions on how to cook half portions? I mean I thought half the idea of ready meals was bachelors and single folk and older folk. Why do they seem only towards huge happy families lol?

Question Olive Pomace Oil in Factor meals

Hello,

I just started factor about two weeks ago. I like the meals so far. My goal is to lose some weight, increase protein, and eat the Mediterranean diet more often (cholesterol creeping up). I hate cooking so I thought this would get the ball rolling and I could later transition to cooking for myself. I also travel a lot, so I'm out of town for weeks at a time any it's nice to have meals just ready to go. It seems like a trip to the grocery store costs just about as much these days as a meal delivery service.

Anyway I noticed that the factor meals include olive Pomace oil which is the lowest grade of olive oil. I googled it and it still has had the unsaturated fats just not the polyphenols which gets destroyed in the chemical extraction process.

Thoughts from the people out there with health goals?

Short term meal delivery recommendation?

I live alone and usually cook healthy meals for myself. I'm not on any particular diet, but I eat clean, low-carb, with a lot of whole foods.

I broke my wrist a few days ago, which has left that entire arm pretty useless for a little while.

I would like to sign up for a meal delivery service for about a month. I've read that some of these are hard to cancel the ongoing subscription.

What do folks recommend for easy, healthy, and tasty meal delivery that won't be a nightmare to cancel later?

Thank you!

How do you get rid of ice packs?

Im getting Factor every week. They come with so many ice packs. They are way too heavy to put in the trash (i live in the boonies and take my trash to the dump).

I have read that you arent supposed to pour down the drain because they expand when wet, but they are already wet, arent they?

Do they ever dry out to become lighter?

Factor Is Predatory

UPDATE: I want to say that someone from Factir just reached to me via social media and helped me with my refund. I do appreciate them reaching out so quickly and resolving the issue for me. I will give him that their customer service through social media is way better than the one on the website so if you're considering Factor you will at least have some recourse if anything goes awry. That's a big deal these days. 🙏🏾🤍

If you all were thinking along signing up for Factor Meals, DON'T! I signed up and they auto-selected a box of food for me, but I didn't like the looks of the selection or the pricing and I went and read a few reviews on Reddit and decided I didn't like what I was hearing. I cancelled the service and received no other prompts about anything else I needed cancel.

A few days later, they charged me over $100, and when I inquired why that was happening they said I had to do a separate cancellation for the initial box that was auto-selected and a separate cancellation for the service. Now, I received no prompt at any time to cancel the box along with the service. I sat on their stupid help chat for over 30 minutes trying to resolve this and they just disconnected from me.

Just a heads up in case you were thinking about it! I also read in the forums of the food quality has eroded immensely and everything is just padded with green beans.

Tempo refusing to honor WHOOP promo even though it said it was successfully applied?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey all, wondering if anyone else has run into this.

I signed up for Tempo because of the WHOOP promo they were running. It was supposed to be 60% off the first box, 15% off the box 4 and 5, and then a free WHOOP 5.0 + 1 year Peak membership after the third order.

When I signed up, the site literally showed:

Luckily I took a screenshot.

After my first box came, I noticed the discount showing for my second box discount didn't seem right. I called support and they told me there was somehow a Weight Watchers promo attached to my account instead.

I've never even seen the Weight Watchers promo before. I definitely didn't enter it or knowingly sign up through it. The only promo I remember using was the WHOOP one, and I have the screenshot from checkout saying it was successfully applied.

The support rep was helpful and escalated it to their marketing team. Marketing apparently came back and said they won't switch me to the WHOOP promo because I've already received my first box. They then deactivated my account.

I've asked them to escalate it to a supervisor and even offered to just start over from box 1 under the correct promo instead of asking for anything extra.

Pretty disappointing since the WHOOP promo was the whole reason I decided to try Tempo in the first place. I actually liked the meals too, which makes this even more annoying.

If you're signing up for Tempo through one of these promos, definitely screenshot everything.

Anyone else have something like this happen with Tempo?

Question Any CookUnity customers get an email from Jose Campante/Nextgen Transport today?

I got an email from the owner of Nextgen Transport this morning who’s claiming that CookUnity has refused to pay them for two weeks costing drivers their paycheck, and advised me to reach out to CookUnitys support and legal department to raise awareness of this issue

Just wanted to know if anyone else got this email. I hope it’s not true as that would be quite crappy of CookUnity to screw someone over like that.

Edit: I’m in CA an hour from LA

Other options with a lot of vegetarian/vegan meals.

I usually do meal kits but lately I have been really tired when I get home so I resubbed to cook unity and I have been enjoying it. Are there any other companies with a good selection of vegetarian meals? Factor seems pretty slim pickings and that was the original reason I unsubbed from cook unity a few years ago but now they have more to choose from, but I like to try different stuff so I figured I would ask here.

Review Forkful SUCKS

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FORKFUL MEAL DELIVERY SERVICE! Meals always wrong, delivery late with unsafe temp conditions, they don’t skip deliveries when you skip and then charge you, horrible customer service that is worthless with dogs barking and roosters crowing in the background! Should be banned from doing business

What is unity pass and why is cook unity hellbent on pushing it

It’s driving me crazy how hard they peddle it. CU food quality is diminishing and the persistence to go premium is making clear they want way more of my money to maintain quality.

Cook Unity vs Factor

Cook Unity vs Factor

I travel a lot for work and I'm not home to cook dinner for the family on a regular basis. I just have a question. Would it be better to go with Factor if I knew that most of the meals will end up getting frozen as Cook Unity is delivered refrigerated?

I have had several people tell me that for the price point, Cook Unity is a lot better in flavor and meal variety, but I don't know if that changes given that we will probably end up freezing a lot of them. Obviously I know there are certain ingredients that shouldn't be frozen and if we order a salad, eggs, etc we would eat those fresh.

I do plan to order the minimum that we would need, but my whole family is spontaneous and plans change frequently at the last minute, lol

CookUnity auto selected meals

I've been getting CookUnity weekly for 2 1/2 years... and I find myself not always having the time to pick my meal selections so I let them do it for me. It's mostly worked, with only a few random duds, but for the last few months, it's been absolutely terrible.

First, I get 4 meals a week, but they send me two copies of two meals, instead of four unique meals. And they repeat the exact same selection week after week. They have HUNDREDs of meals to select for me, and for the last month (16 meals), i've only been given 2 selections, and they're selections I don't like. Sure, maybe it's on me to pick the meals... but for the first 2 years, the algorithm did a decent job and selecting stuff, but now it's just terrible. When I do hand pick, I get fantastic meals, then I forget and they're back to sending me the crappy meals. I feel like they're adjusting the algorithm to just auto-send the cheapest/most profitable meals. I've down-rated these meals, and they still send them, and the app says "we're picking meals based on your preference.".. yeah, no you're not.

Anyways, I have to deal with another week of chickpeas and mystery meat.

Herculean Meal Prep

Hello all!

I have seen posts over time recommending looking for local options of ready meals and found Herculean Meal Prep in Indianapolis, a local business with a couple of locations. Their meals are frozen, but very high quality ingredients, great flavor, and wide variety of options with some rotating seasonal options as well (but ~80% of their menu doesn’t change much). A great local option for sure

Recently moved out of Indianapolis and tried their shipping. They shipped without any issue, with a bit of dry ice and a styrofoam cooler. Even though it’s mostly a local business I’d highly recommend giving them a shot for shipping, it is WAY better than Factor or CookUnity from my experiences with those.
