i just lost two years of progress because i loaded the ktc backup and i didn´t notice it was from 1963 instead of 65. now i lost all that progress i made. before i uninstall the game and hang myself is there any way to recover this? my only saves are the ktc backup and the persistent which got overwritten

There are backups of ther last 5(?) Perisitant files. In your ksp saves folder there should be a backup folder. Inside will be backup persistant files. Copy, paste into the normal save folder, replacing the current persitant file (make sure the backup file is renamed to match it exactly).

I lost 4 years of progress once because all of my veteran trained astronauts bugged out, gained max proficiency and somehow became unusable (couldnt do mission training).
