Rule #6 created: crossposts after effective date now given shorter time than Rule #1

Since I've yet to see opposition in the other thread, I've gone ahead and then created Rule #6:

Starting December 24, 2025, at 23:59 UTC / 6:59 EST, all crossposts made after this effective date and time must receive at least one reply from a non-OP user within one week. Almost same as Rule #1, especially regarding which counts as replies enough to prevent the post from being locked. Other crossposts made before then are still subject to Rule #1.

In other words, crosspost made before the effective date are treated like any other post subject to Rule #1. Ones made after the date still need at least one reply but within a shorter time than other ones still subject to Rule #1.

Like Rule #1, the replies that don't prevent closure of crossposts in this sub are the following:

  • spam replies
  • self-replies from OP or their alt accounts
  • posts by u/AutoModerator
  • "bump" posts
  • and any requests regarding the OP (e.g. deleting or keeping)

Recommendations If you could recommend just ONE season of a reality show, what would it be?

I love chaotic contestants and drama to keep me glued to the screen.

If you could recommend just one season of any reality show, what would it be and why?

Family or Fiance

I see this happen a lot on Family or Fiance and a lot of other reality shows. There's a mother, groom's or bride's, who is a pastor or leader of a Christian church. And they want their child to follow what they say. They are the "Leader of the Pack". Whenever I see this need to have the son or daughter choose them over the spouse or intended spouse, I want to point them to Genesis 2:24,

"For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh"

It's not saying the parent doesn't matter, it is saying the marriage couple are 1. Mom or dad had plenty of time to teach morales and traditions.

Sonny Henty (let’s Marry Harry)

RANT:

Watching the reunion of “Let’s Marry Harry”, my skin felt like it was literally crawling listening to Sonny (Harry’s best friend supposedly) spew all of his bs at Amber. This man was supposed to be a judge/ mentor to help Harry grow on the show and clearly he is just another F-boy like Harry is and only continued to enable Harry. The reunion clearly revealed this guy’s true colors and I was just disgusted listening to him speak. He is a gaslighter, a typical “bro code” loser. And apparently this man is MARRIED? Someone please save his wife omg.

Finished season 4 of Are You The One for the first time in awhile

Okay I have to say, I love this show. I miss this dating show, literally the BEST like these modern day shows have nothing on Are You The One.

I know they are all silly 20 somethings in every season, but they learn stuff about each other like law school, their degrees, their feelings about their families, REAL stuff. I feel like none of the shows today have the contestants really talk about stuff that pertains to compatibility like that. What made me say this is the season 4 Sam & Alyssa couple, they were a perfect match for reference, but she mentioned the issues with her mom/family and he was open about his religious status, it just made me think about how even Love Is Blind couples can’t get real about political views before they get fucking MARRIED.

This season is ridiculous for sure. Right on the line of internet fame hungry people I feel like. It came out in 2016. But everyone is very memorable!!

I have watched 1-4 now, gotta go to 5 next!

Getting into realitity tv: Seasons or shows?

I dont know about subgenres of reality tv, but to br clear im talking about shows like Big Brother or Survivor. like where they put people into a pressure cooker, make them play some games, maybe vote someone out, and then eventually a winner is crowned. from my little bit of knowledge I hear that modern reality tv seasons can be very on and off, like they introduce a new lame gimmick that ruins the season or the people just werent good.

So basically what im saying here is should i like go out and find the best reality tv seasons (i watch season 12 of this show, 5 of that show, etc) or just sit down and watch a whole show? idk sorry if this doesnt make sense

Let’s Marry Harry

I think Harry has a lot more redeeming qualities than people give him credit for. He’s charismatic, funny, emotionally expressive, and there are moments where you can see that he genuinely cares about the people around him. I also respect that he seems willing to acknowledge his mistakes and work on himself instead of pretending he has everything figured out. He’s obviously imperfect, but I think there’s a genuinely good and likable person underneath the messy relationship decisions.
