This totally cracked me up watching the Rock am Ring 2004 performance. The admiration is real!

I’ve always felt like The Empyrean has such a distinct visual atmosphere — dark, spacious, surreal, but with these flashes of light running through it.

I’m an artist, and I recently painted my own interpretation of the album. I wanted to capture the feeling the record gives me rather than recreate the cover directly.
I’d love to hear how other Frusciante fans visualize The Empyrean. If you had to turn the album into a painting, what would it look like?

And what’s your favourite track from the album?

Awesome pictures! From the Californication tour, they played songs like Around the World, Suck My Kiss, Skinny Sweaty Man, I Like Dirt, Soul to Squeeze, and many others. Unfortunately, there are no recordings of this show available, but the pictures alone are great!

The RHCP Live Archive added this show today, July 17, 2000. It's a banger. Sound is a little distorted at times, but otherwise pretty good. The bands performance is top notch.

It also has a few "oddities":
- Johns guitar cuts out just as they're going into the Around the World bass solo, Flea extends the solo. They manage to recover really well, almost sounds planned.

- Flea doesn't sing Pea, instead does Pot Sharing Tots

- John plays through the UTB intro twice

I had a gig this past weekend and did Scar Tissue. Thought I'd share a little clip of the outro solo. Slane is a pretty fun one to cover, if I do say so myself.

So I’m doing a music project and I have to analyse a protest song post 2000s. So obviously first thing I did was search for a chili peppers song and I came across brave from afar. So I believe this song is taking about news channels and how they say everything bad in our world yet do nothing about it. They say everything like a brave person yet they live on the other side of the world where it can’t affect them. Lines like “prime time, the perfect crime” could suggest how they actually want crimes to happen, the worse the better, as it gets them and audience to generate income. “When they tell, you they sell you” could refer how they tell you information that isn’t necessarily true. “When I hold you for country” could mean how they actually control a lot of the country as many people believe whatever the news say. There’s also a lot of mentions of government which the news talks about a lot. Other stuff like “media blitz” could mention how the news chucks many different headlines.

Any other ideas? I know Anthony’s lyrics arent always the best to analyse but some songs he does put effort into and I think this is one of them.

I just found this at a flea market. I never saw it before and So I was wondering if it’s a good find. It’s a promo DVD for Slane Castle.
