Important clarification/hint: yellow means the same thing as orange, it is just to make it clear that I'm referring to the geographical region rather than all of these countries individually (because the exact country is not known). Blue means "sometimes included".
Probably not too difficult for people familiar with this topic.

Answer: origins of the ancient dog breeds (different lineages from all modern breeds). The dingo and the new Guinea singing dog aren't in the American Kennel Club's list of ancient dog breeds, but they are considered to be very genetically divergent from "modern" dogs as well.
