Retro Bowl Record Book Vol. VII

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ILEOwd2qBdcDEcij1ms38i1v7-z5RFnqZCWiVjkc8K4/edit?usp=sharing

The book is back baby! The link is above, and I've detailed the important information below.

NOTICE: Extreme records have been reinstated! If you are entering an extreme record, please read the information below.

How do you get in the book?

  1. Check that your record actually breaks the record. I'm not planning on keeping track of who has 2nd or 3rd place. If you're not first, you're last. Plus, it'll save me time.
  2. Take a picture of the stat, whether it's in the player's page or the in-game record book, and create a post in the subreddit. IMPORTANT: Please try not to use any other image sharing source (imgur, instagram, etc.). Just for simplicity's sake.
  3. Leave a comment on this post indicating that you've entered a submission, and I'll enter it ASAP. Please have some grace and recognize that it might take days or even weeks before I get to your record. I'll notify you when the record's been entered!

How do you get in the extreme records book?

This process is slightly different, but every step below must be followed in order for your record to be included.

  1. Create a post on the subreddit that includes:

  2. Leave a comment on this post informing me of your submission, and I'll add it to the book.

There are a lot of empty records right now, so grab them quick before they're gone!

Where did the hall of fame go?

Previous iterations of this book featured a "hall of fame" section, where players could be submitted and immortalized for their statistics. However, the whole idea was so subjective that I can't see it being worth reinstating. However, if the community really wants it, I could bring it back.

What about college or RB NFL records?

College might happen, just because of the slightly different rules and routes that exist. I think it'd be different enough to be worth it. RB NFL, probably not. It's basically the same game, but slightly more broken. I wouldn't count on those being added in the future.

Please, please remember that this only works if everyone is honest. You could lie, you could photoshop, but this is only fun if someone doesn't wreck it for everyone else.

That's all from me. Happy record-breaking!

Trucking nerf?

While we are stuck waiting for a fix for the older Android devices, I wanted to get your thoughts on Trucking. I think we can all agree it's a bit OP right now. So the question is, how do we go about nerfing it?

126 votes, Mar 27 '25
8 Make Trucking less likely to break tackles in general
1 Make Trucking less likely to break tackles for TE only
15 Make Trucking less likely to break tackles during Kick Returns only
14 Increase charge time for Trucking if you have recently Juked
85 Leave it as exactly as it is, we're having too much fun
3 Some other solution. (please comment)

Simulating Games

Why is it whenever I sim a game, the other team is always better? I don't care the records, how the defense and offense is, my opponent is ALWAYS leading. The only time I don't get that is when it's FBS vs FCS. I can be playing a 1-4 team with a 2 star offense and in simulation, they score at will. Most of the time I can take it off sim and I can come back but there are times when no matter what, I can't stop the bleeding.

Retro Bowl - Ultimate Challenge

This is a set of rules which will simulate realistic squad turnover needed in the NFL and make building a significant dynasty less boring for experienced players:

  1. All games are played on hard except for games within your division or after the wildcard game which will be played on extreme
  2. Salary cap cannot be upgraded
  3. The free agency tab cannot be used
  4. Only three players at any given time can be on your roster not on their rookie contract

This set of rules is just for anyone looking for a fresh challenge who has become bored of routinely building killer teams which win every year. Alternatively, all games could be played on extreme. This can work with ten or twelve man roster setting with ten being harder due to even more salary cap limitations.

RB College Uniform Glitch?

So I was editing the uniforms of my team and when I went to do an exhibition match against myself to compare the edited Home uniforms with the Blackout uniforms, I saw that the Blackout uniforms seem to have a glitch where one pant leg apparently turns white.

As you can see, it’s not visible during kickoff, but it is visible during gameplay, whether it be offense or defense. Thankfully, the other edited uniforms I’ve been color checking seem to be unaffected. Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Personal high in points on extreme

Post image
7 Upvotes

I’ve played over 4,000 games on extreme. 2 minute quarters. Most points I ever had.

Defense showed up. Had some nice returns. And my receivers really blocked for each other down the field. Complete team effort and couldn’t be more proud. Especially in a rivalry game.

Game Won't Let Me Edit West Florida

Trying to edit University of West Florida's colors as for some reason they're all 000000 black. Every time I change colors, hit save, and go back to look, it defaults back to the all black. Did this like 3 times. Anyone know why? This is the only team this is happening with.

Retro Bowl College

OK, am I running a college football team or an alcohol rehab? With few exceptions, the Dilemmas presented are:

Player trying to put a keg in his dorm room.

Player trying to stash cases of beer in his locker.

Player was so drunk he pissed in the campus fountain.

Player hosted a party in his own honor causing dozens of drunken revelers to descend onto the campus.

PLayer causes team to break curfew by throwing an after hours party in his room.

Police chief wants player cut because he's constantly causing a drunken scene in town.

Professor wants player cut because he interrupts the class with drunken heckling.

I've also had a player drop out because he spent all of his college money on booze.

There are a few more but with few exceptions, all of the dilemmas you're hit with involve alcohol. Now, I went to college and yes, we partied. But this game makes it seem like the football team is on a constant bender.

OK, This Is Ridiculous

OK. I can suspend disbelief when one of my players is trucking down the sideline and a defender comes from behind and tracks them down, but, what just happened was totally ridiculous. I threw a pass, my receiver catches it and is heading downfield. All of a sudden I see a defender not only 25 yards behind bur completely from the other side of the field make like Wally West and ended up getting my receiver on the 5 yard line. That's 25 yards back and on the other side of the field, easily 35-40 yards. Also, I don't care if you have zero stamina. No one not named Fred Biletnikoff is going to make like they're running in wet cement.

We Should Be Able To Change Field Color

In college, there are several fields unique to that university. Boise St.'s iconic blue field, Eastern Washington's red field, and Coastal Carolina's teal field. I know we can change the endzone, but there needs to be a field option.

3rd Wr set as kick returner

As we know if you have three receivers one is automatically benched.

So idk if I’m late to the party with this but today I learned that even when your 3rd receiver is benched you can set them as the kick returner and they can actually play but only as the kick returner.

My mind is blown. Sorry if this is old news but I never knew this even after playing for what feels like a long time lol
