Tm8 bumped into me down 2 with 30 seconds left and wanted to call it quits. Not on my watch, came back to ice them in OT in the best way possible. (Yes I know the fake kickoff in OT was questionably executed, I didn’t necessarily get the first touch I wanted and was hoping to turn it into a pass to my tm8 lol. Still worked out well thankfully 🙏🏼)

As a D3-C1 player, this has to be my best shot yet.

Last night I realized 2 things that I feel like people may not know. In normal matches (idk about other playlists) when the ball goes airborne, the trail behind it is either blue or orange depending on who hit it last. Also in the Farmstead arena, if you hit the bottom corner of the wall, it makes a creaking wood noise instead of the normal bounce. That’s it, have a good day!

I love demos. My favorite part of the game. Why wouldn’t I take someone out who’s about to go for a shot? Or when there’s a party and one guy is a sweat. I make it so he doesn’t exist. I play hockey so it’s sick to be able to take people out.
18 is my highest in a game. I usually don’t demo chase unless I have to erase someone’s presence. I’ll get mvp with 9 demos sometimes.

I was in this tournament QFs then suddenly my teammates just started bumping me for no reason and went afk at the start of the game, i was like wtf is the problem now? I don't even have the chat on so I have no idea why they were so mad, and no, I was neither ballchasing or bumping them in the previews games, just playing normally pretty much. Obviously they didn't wanted to ff because well let's just waste time, but what they didn't know is that they ain't getting any tournament rewards and probably get banned for a day or so because they went idle.
Be it chat on or off this game is becoming insufferable to play and absolutely nothing changes it just becoming worse and worse season after season, with every RL session I start hopping off faster and faster to the point of not even logging in for days, and when I do I'm welcomed by these kind of people, obviously I love this game, but because of this player base I'm losing all my interest to play

D2 was a lot better than us d1s, ariels like no tomorrow, we won, however it was just obvious.
How much MMR disparity is it until it ACTUALLY kicks in?
Not mad or anything, but im just curious. IMO being able to happily queue into a d1 game 320 MMR lower, is insane.

i've played this game since the release date and i've been stuck in all the ranks until i understood what it took to rank up and now i even reached top 100 2 weeks ago in 2v2s.
1) game sense / rotations --> this is hands down the most important aspect of the game which many players lack. in theory it's easy but in practice it very hard. why? because it requires you to spot tiny openings and pay attention to everything in order to spot an opportunity. many players just apply theoretical rotations meaning they dont pay attention to what is going on around the field, and just follow a basic rotation script, which doesn't result in anything as most of the time you'll miss an opportunity. for example if you dont have boost dont just go immediately for the 100, pick up the pads and pay attention to your teammate if he either passes or clears the ball in order for a shot or something and also the opponents if they counter-attack and so on.
2) master the basics --> meaning instead of spending hours doing flip resets put more effort in basic shots / recoveries / air dribbles / flicks / and overal car control. if you are stuck not being able to do an air dribble open a ring training map and practice it until you master car control. if you can't do flick go on free play and practice flicks until you can do them consistently and so on. for example flakes did an entire series where he was able to reach SSL with no mechs whatsoever so it's 100% possible. practice mechanics after you are consistently able to do the basics as if you practice double flip resets but you cant even do a basic air dribble it's not going to get you anywhere. it's like swimming in the ocean when you can barely stay afloat
3) play 1's --> 1's is hands down the most annoying and frustrating gamemode but it teaches you how to not overcommit / make each play count / improve your recoveries and overall skill. an unpopular opinion is that 1's is 70% kickoffs which unfortunately is true so because of that it also improves your kickoffs strat.
4) find a teammate --> this is a super important thing as with a good teammate you'll both get to know eachother's playstyle and coordinate better together. until GC solo q'ing is not a very good option because it requires you to blindly trust a new player each game and also you'll need to adapt to each tm8's playstyle every time which unfortunately most of the time solo q teammates are beyond subpar. after GC you can solo q because there you can trust most of them with mechs and overal gameplay.
5) play the game --> most of you expect after 1k hours to reach GC or even higher...sorry to say but it doesnt work like that. for you to get better you need to play the game for a long time. for an SSL the min hours are around 7k, personally i've hit SSL around 8.5K hours. if you just play the game casually then do not expect you'll somehow gain insane skill overnight and can rank up easily
6) watch your replays --> if you feel unsatisifed with your gameplay or dont know why you lost a game just watch the replay and spot your mistakes. you dont have to watch every replay from every match but some will still make an impact
TL;DR --> between plat-diam (focus on basics), champ-gc (gamesense / rotations / play 1's / find a teammate), gc-ssl (play the game more / watch the replays / train mechanics / gamesense / rotations)
overall these were the tips that helped me rank up and even reach top 100

My highschool has an esport team and they are looking specifically for rocket league players. Personally I feel like I'm above average and I wanted to join since it is one of my hobbies. But I was wondering, am I even good enough? Idk if more highschools have something like this but if so, what rank are yall if your in the team? Personally I'm diamond 2 and I feel like that must be solid enough to join a highschool esports team from a moderately big city in a moderately small state. But now I'm second guessing. I already sent an email to the person who would be doing the tryouts and all of that. But I just wanna know fully what I'm getting myself into.

The Bell Esports Challenge 2026 took place over this weekend at Fan Expo Canada. Since this Canadian tournament isn’t nearly as widely known as RLCS events, EWC, etc., I thought I would share this grand final for your viewing pleasure. No spoilers, but be prepared for a lot of OT drama.
If the link doesn’t timestamp, the grand final starts with around 1 hour left in the stream.
