Anyone know the audio quality output via usb-2 to PC on Roland BRIDGE CAST X for watching movies?

My plan is to plug my fire stick 4k max 2nd gen into an audio extractor and send the DHCP video to my monitor, and send the audio via hdmi into the roland bridge cast x (since when dhcp is on in the app audio cannot be sent to pc), and then send the audio via the usb-2 port to my pc (hoping it retains the multichannel information) so i can run the audio through the pc's dolby atmos for headphones and plug my beyerdynamic mmx 330 pro headphones into the 3.5mm jack on my pc.

Thoughts?

Complete beginner here, about to buy my first piano and hoping for a sanity check before I order.

I've settled on the Roland FP-10 after a lot of recommendations and consistently positive reviews. The PHA-4 Standard action seems to be the main selling point, and since my long-term goal is boogie woogie and blues, I figure a properly weighted key action matters more than extra sounds or features I won't touch.

Background: absolute zero. Can't read music. Plan is to work through an adult method book (leaning towards Alfred's or Faber Adult Piano Adventures) to learn notation properly, plus daily practice rather than long weekend sessions.

A few things I'd love input on:

  1. Anyone who's owned the FP-10 for a year or more — did you outgrow it, and if so, at what point?

  2. Is the stock DP-2 pedal bad enough that I should just buy the DP-10 immediately, or can it wait?

  3. The built-in speakers get mixed comments. Do most of you end up playing on headphones anyway?

  4. Anything about the FP-10 specifically that annoys you day to day but doesn't show up in reviews?

Alguém que tenha NUX DP2000 já ligou um controlador da Roland de Hi Hat, Bumbo e Caixa no NUX? Funciona legal?

Next addition: MC-707 vs TR-8S (+SP-404MK2)

I’ve been jamming with a T-8 and MicroFreak, having lots of fun, and thinking about what addition makes the most sense next.

My first option would be an MC-707 as a kind of all-in-one tool with plenty of built-in sounds.

But I’m also considering getting a TR-8S to replace the T-8, and eventually adding an SP-404MK2. That would give me more of a “full kit,” with dedicated hardware covering each part of the setup.

What do you think?

Raymond Transistor 7 editor for the TR-707, TR-727

Hey Everyone! for those of you who know me - I'm a bit of a gear nut and huge Roland fan. I recently picked up a TR-707 and love it! Low latency, classic sounds and a beast of a hands on sequencer.

I'm hybrid so like to edit files on the computer too, keeping specific banks with each project. I keep getting lost when using the song editor but wanted to trigger start and stop from the TR-707 to keep the on board grooves sync'ing with my DAW. So - I wrote an editor for it. While I was in there, I also wrote an editor for the patterns too so I could make quick edits and see the patterns at a glance. I'm not affiliated with Roland, just a fan.

If you're interested, I have a deep dive here:

is the Roland GO:KEYS 3 a decent first buy or am I overthinking this

Never played anything, want to finally start. Fell for the Roland GO:KEYS 3, then read some reviews and now I'm doubting. Half the complaints I didn't even understand, so I can't tell what's an actual dealbreaker and what's just experienced players being picky.

Budget is €300-400, it'd sit in my living room and headphones would be handy. Is the GO:KEYS 3 fine to start on or would you talk me out of it? And is it worth stretching for weighted keys at this price, or is that a lost cause under €400?

Rent to buy options?

I am interested in the JD 800 vst. I have the Roland Cloud Manager. But are there any options that allow for rent to buy or something similiar? All I'm seeing is either rent or buy outright, which I can't currently afford.

Recording with Roland E4 on Smule.

How does one record Vocals on Smule using Roland E4 for applying effects with a Type c Android phone.

How to connect the Smule Track and sing using a Mic. What cables to use, especially connecting a dynamic mic to the 1/4.inch port.

since buying the device some months back, I am yet to get to use the device.

Some guidance from the Roland Support team will help.

How to integrate it in a signal chain also.

3 DISTORTION PEDALS FOR YOUR 303 with Sp404

Thumbnail

Three distortion pedals I love using with the 303: in this video, I test and compare their character, showing how they reshape acid lines, low end, and resonance.

You don’t need a 303 to use these ideas—these settings and approaches work great with any monosynth, bassline, or mono sound source. From warmer saturation to aggressive fuzz, discover which type of distortion can give your techno sound more character.

Which pedal do you use to dirty up your acid lines? Let me know in the comments.

Enjoy!

Roland Cloud in MacOS Requires Rosetta?

I just got a Roland Cloud subscription to use some of the VST instruments in Logic Pro. If I try to install anything from the Roland Cloud Manager it tells me, "This product requires Rosetta to be installed on your system." Is this normal? I thought the Roland VST instruments ran natively in Apple Silicon. I have an M4 Mac Mini.

I had a VS880 about 25 years ago and backed up all those recordings to CD not realizing that the only way to read those disks was with this drive and a compatible VS device. I’m excited to finally get those recordings properly backed up!

edit: Just to say Oh my god, I forgot how miserable these manuals are. Practically useless. OMG!

Rig for jamming and doing some shows.

First time poster, long time lurker. I’ve started jamming with friends again after a long hiatus and kinda got the urge to get something different. Been bringing my Juno-106 with me and it’s great, but sometimes I just wanna play a piano or an organ as well. There is an old Fantom at the space I’ll hop on sometimes, but if we start playing out, it’s a bit much to haul around.

I have been looking at the VR-730 and the V stage boards. I know there is a world of difference between the two, but they both seem like they would be pretty great for playing live. Just wanted to see if anyone here has played both of them and had any thoughts one way or the other.

Cinematic drone, slips into dark ambient (or the opposite, you choose)
