Romhack Suggestions
Hey everyone sorry if this has been posted a bunch. I’m new to the Romhack scene. I’m looking for some cool Romhacks to checkout. I’m open to all suggestions from PS2 and older. Romhacks I have tried Madden 12 Deluxe, NFL Blitz 2026, Super Smash Remix, No Mercy Plus, Pokémon Unbound. But my focus is on.
- Sports
- Fighters
- Side Scrollers/Beat’em Ups
- Shooters
- RPG/Action adventure
Emulating through Retrodeck on a custom Steam Machine and Batocera on a Mini PC

If you are into GameBoy games. I have a great suggestion for number 5: Embers of Mana. Completely original Mana adventure for GameBoy, build in the engine of Final Fantasy Adventure. I know NHL 94 has a pretty active rom hacking scene, you could check them out. NHL ‘94: Fight Edition adds fighting to the game and it’s compatible with any and all roster hacks.

Loads of SNES Mario kart rom hacks. A lot of them better than the original though difficulty can be very hard on some of them.
