I saw there are pedestrian paths on both bridges. I was curious if anyone has ran a loop using both states? Is there a runnable loop? I figured there is possibility of 16-18 mile loop but don’t trust Google Maps walking routes in areas I’m not familiar with.
If so, would you recommend? Have a shareable link to a safe/fun route?
First post here. Sorry if this is something commonly posted about.

Hi, I have 4 bibs and a parking pass that I won’t be able to use for the black light run TONIGHT at PIR. If someone would like to use them lmk! Free. The bibs are registered to me and my fam and I don’t think that can be changed but probably would be a fun experience regardless!

I'm looking for run clubs that meet near Division and 20th. I've looked into several in SE Portland, and they all look great. But I was hoping to find something right in my neighborhood.

Been staying indoors with the smoke and air quality this week but with the winds changing do you think it’ll be okay tomorrow morning?

I'm the captain of a Hood to Coast team, and we're looking for 2 volunteers after a couple of people had to back out. If we can't find replacements, our team could be disqualified, so we're in a bit of a bind.
The commitment is one 4–6 hour shift on August 28 or 29 somewhere along the race course. I'll send you the signup link, and you choose your shift based on what's still available.
Volunteer duties are things like directing runners or race vans and helping at an exchange. No running required!
We're offering $150 per volunteer. If you sign up with a friend, you can volunteer together, hang out for a few hours, and earn $300!
If you're willing to help us out, please send me a DM. We'd really appreciate it!

Well, we couldn’t dodge the smoke forever, of course. I haven’t really ever been doing serious training when terrible AQI pops up. Do y’all just run through it? Stay indoors if you have access to a treadmill? Stay indoors even if you don’t?

Where do all you full marathon runners go for your long training runs? Ramping up for a full marathon and my training schedule has me doing long runs on the weekend and I'm getting bored running around the neighborhoods out here in the suburbs.

I'm going to be in town for a few days and would like to get in 4-5 miles on a weekend. We're staying in the Pearl District and I thought I'd use the waterfront parks alongside the river. I've heard highly variable things about the safety of running in this area, so I'd appreciate any advice from people more familiar with the area. I won't have a lot of spare time to go somewhere else to run, so unfortunately it's sorta this or nothing.

Hi everyone!
I aspirationally registered for the California International Marathon (CIM), but will not be lacing up this year. The event is December 6, 2026 in Sacramento, CA and is sold out. The course is one of the fastest.
If anyone would like my bib, please shoot me a DM.

Running the Foot Traffic Flat half this weekend for the first time. Some friends and family are coming out to cheer, but since none of us have ever been before, are there tips anyone has for when they should arrive / how bad traffic is? Will they need a Sauvie parking pass? We didn’t get shuttle passes.
TIA!

Just graduated from college and I’m training for the Portland marathon this October. Had lots of friends in college to run with but I’ve been running by myself ever since and it’s not nearly as fun. What are ways I can meet runners around my age here? I’ve looked into some run clubs, but I’d love advice on specific ones if anyone wants to help. I usually run around an 8 minute pace if that helps at all.

Using the Weekly heatmap feature in Strava, you can see where people ran (or, by changing the setting, biked or anything else that Strava can track) most often in the last 7 days.
Wow, 82nd Ave is a sharp divide between where people run and where they don't. Why is that?

I am in search of a bib for the foot traffic flat marathon on 4th of July. I know that they offer some bibs at pickup and I plan to try that route if I cannot find one. If you or anyone you know has a bib and does not plan to run, please let me know!
