V1.3.0 - Small UX update from real user feedback

A new tester ran into an issue during pedal calibration. The hardware was detected correctly, but our UI said “Waiting for movement” before measurement had actually started.

That was technically correct internally, but pretty misleading from a user perspective.

So we changed the calibration flow to clearly show:

READY → MEASURING → DETECTED

We also added a calibration funnel to our internal analytics so we can finally see where people drop out instead of guessing.

Tiny change, but potentially an important one.

Thanks again to everyone testing SIXTYCM and reporting weird behavior ❤️. This is exactly why real-world feedback matters.

SIXTYCM is still in the prototype/testing phase, and that’s exactly why feedback matters so much right now.

SIXTYCM v1.2.1 — Pedal Smoothing for low-resolution pedals

Post image

One of the things we noticed during testing is that older or lower-resolution pedals can make the input curve look much more jittery than the actual foot movement really is.

That’s especially noticeable on older Logitech / Thrustmaster-style pedal sets, where the hardware may only report a relatively small number of input steps.

So in v1.2.1 we added a new Pedal Smoothing option.

The goal is not to fake better hardware resolution. The raw input stays exactly what the pedal delivers.

Instead, SIXTYCM now:

  • smooths visible quantization / jitter in the displayed training signal
  • keeps quick pedal movements responsive
  • treats lower-resolution hardware more fairly during training
  • leaves higher-resolution pedals essentially unaffected

This should make the experience much more usable on older or cheaper pedal sets.

If you’re using older Logitech, Thrustmaster or similar pedals, I’d especially love to hear whether this improves the experience for you. 😄

Welcome to r/SIXTYCM — start here

Hi everyone 👋

We’re two passionate hobby sim racers who simply wanted to get better.

We understood concepts like trail braking pretty quickly — but actually controlling pedal pressure precisely, releasing smoothly and repeating the same movement consistently was a different story.

So we asked ourselves:

What if we trained those underlying pedal-control skills separately?

That question became SIXTYCM.

I’m a software developer, and for this early prototype we’ve used AI extensively as a development tool. We’re open about that. The implementation is reviewed and tested, and if SIXTYCM grows beyond the prototype stage, the code and architecture will be hardened accordingly.

The interesting part for us, though, is the training itself.

The Precision Tunnel combines different pedal-control skills and adapts over time to the weaknesses it detects in your driving inputs.

That adaptive part is where SIXTYCM starts to feel a little magical to us. 😄

The goal is not to replace practice in the simulator — it’s to deliberately train the underlying motor skills and then bring them back into the car.

This subreddit is for feedback, training results, hardware support, feature ideas, development updates and sim racing training discussions in general.

Try it, break it, tell us what you think. 😄

How to get started

  1. Introduce yourself in the comments — tell us what you race and what hardware you use.
  2. Make your first post. A question, training result, hardware issue or idea is more than enough.
  3. If you know another sim racer who might enjoy this little experiment, invite them over.
  4. Most importantly: try SIXTYCM and tell us what works, what doesn’t, and what you’d like to see next.

Thanks for being part of the very first wave.

Thanks for being here ❤️

This is the core of SIXTYCM — Precision Tunnel in action

This is the training mode we’re currently most excited about.
Precision Tunnel combines different pedal-control patterns and gradually adapts based on where you struggle most.

The goal isn’t to teach one fixed movement, but to challenge application, release, holding, transitions, low-pressure control and consistency in changing sequences.

This is still an early prototype, so feedback is very welcome. 😄

Practicing brake release without worrying about the rest of the lap

Trail braking is easy to understand in theory and surprisingly hard to execute consistently.

This mode isolates the application and release phase so you can deliberately practice the pedal movement itself before bringing it back into the simulator.

I’d be especially curious how other sim racers practice brake release today.

Training repeatable pedal targets with Gates

Gates is the more straightforward precision exercise in SIXTYCM.

The idea is simple: hit changing pedal targets accurately and repeatably without overshooting or rushing the movement.

It’s less flashy than Precision Tunnel, but surprisingly unforgiving. 😂
