Did the V-Strom Lower Cowling Trick on My SV!

Saw this nifty little trick on Reddit and YT so I thought I’d give it a try. Thoughts?
In case you’re wondering, the part number is: DL650 94400-11830-291

I think there was a post here a couple months ago with someone doing it on a 2nd gen.

Thank you! I was never a fan of the way the exhaust was routed and the oil filter being placed right in front of the engine.

I’ll admit, it was more of an aesthetic choice than anything else! 😁

My SV650 came with it installed but I removed it because I prefer the naked look. I totally get why some like it but different strokes, I guess!

Completely understand!

It does look better on your bike than it did on mine. I think it's the color combo.

What is going on with thebackground? Is this AI?

Their garage isn’t painted so you see mud on the seams of the drywall panels to make the surface smooth

Yes, but compare patterns and the door. Also door rail has appeard on second image.

Not only has OP but on his bellypan also a bit of home improvements.

I’ll admit, my garage was a bit of a mess so I AI’d the photo to remove the clutter in the background! 😆
Actually inspired me to clean up a bit after I posted!

Go for it! After tax and shipping I was right around $303 USD.

Looks good but I just had a look a the price of that part ... Not exactly cheap hey?

Thanks and yes, a bit pricey. I think after taxes and delivery I was at $303 USD. I was never a fan of the way Suzuki routed the exhaust and had the oil filter so exposed. This helped to solve both issues.

Yeah I agree, not amazing to look at.

Apparently it's over £300 in the UK!

What year model? And what seat is that?

2

u/StandardDot9711 1d ago

That’s the Suzuki “Tuck Roll” seat. It’s a ‘19 SV650.

How much work was it to get it on there? Any video in particular that you watched?

Super easy! The OEM part includes all the brackets and hardware and bolts right up to the factory mounting points. There are a few on YT but the below video will give you the general idea.
