What is actually going on with Aaron Ramsdale?

Upvotes

So, here we are at the end of the transfer window and we still have Rambo. He's not been appearing in match day squads and he's not left or gone on loan somewhere.

What's going on with him? It seems like he's just eating the clubs wages but not really doing anything.

Saints Play on Android TV?

Anyone have a clean-ish way of using SaintsPlay on their tv? Right now I'm streaming from my phone and then screen mirror-ing the feed, but casting hasn't worked for me. I'd rather be able to watch it through an app (which it doesn't seem they have) or some other option.

Matsuki or Matski?

Am I being thick or is the Sky Sports commentator a doylem. Second coverage I've watched where they've called him mat-ski repeatedly. I read it as mah-tsoo-kee and Google says the same.

New Saints fan here - when can do I receive tickets on the app?

Hi everyone I've moved to Southampton and am in my second year at Southampton uni; I've bought tickets for me and a mate to see the Bristol game on the 12th of September - it will be my first time at St Mary's.

I've received purchase confirmation, but in people's experience when will I receive the actual tickets on the mySaints app? I just want to make sure everything has gone right before the day of the game.

Cheers

If we sign Affengruber of Falchener - Was Dragan right?

Earlier in the window Dragan claimed the squad would be stronger after the window than when it started.

This three days ago looked contentious but given:

GK has stayed the same

LB has stayed the same

CB Schlotterbeck is an undoubted upgrade on Stephens to a big degree, Affengruber looks just as good as THB and Falchener close

CM - Charles out, JWP in. Charles has a lot more potential certainly but for quality right now it is a moderate downgrade rather than a severe one. Both our starting CMs stay

Wings - Kept Scienza, kept everyone else

10 - Dobbin is starting slow but definite upgrade on no one being cover other than players out of position

Striker - Lost Stewart, gained Mubama. Stewart is better no doubt but with his fitness record if Mubama can stay available and we don't end up having Archer as our back up 9 when Stewart gets his inevitable 4-6 month injury could be seen as an upgrade or atleast a lateral move

So is it fair to argue Dragan was right and we do have a stronger squad? The big upgrade at LCB offsetting losing the depth from Stewart and Charles and any potential downgrades we may have to deal with at RCB? With having Dobbin at 10 also in the pros column.

Sport Republic has finally nailed the transfer structure among the executives

Quoting Daily Echo from June 2025: ‘Dragan Solak says Rasmus Ankersen largely leads the negotiations when selling Southampton players, while technical director Johannes Spors is in charge of new signings’. And so far this structure has delivered really strong results:

  1. Spors has been utilising his German-focused network to get us excellent price-for-value players: Scienza, Jander, Peretz, Schlotterback, Quarshie and Downs (the judge is still out on this one). From this group only Jander cost more than £10m (£10.5m 😅).

  2. Ankersen sucks at recruiting players from his Danish-based network (Onuachu, Sulemana, Gronbaek, Jelert, Roerslev), but the guy is a great at selling high our players:
    - Dibling: £35m + £5m add-ons + 20% sell-on clause
    - Fernandes: £38m + £3m add-ons + 15% sell-on clause (that turned into £6.45m)
    - Charles: £26m + £4m add-ons + sell-on clause
    - THB: £25m + £5m add-ons

As long as Ankersen doesn’t buy us his Danish-linked players, our recruitment will be one of the best in the business.

Family Friendly Places to Eat Post Game

Hello everyone,

My family and I will be coming over to England from Canada for our holiday in the next few days, and as part of this trip, we've got tickets to the Southampton match vs Bristol City. It's me, my wife and my young daughter (3yrs old). Hoping for some suggestions from local fans for a good place to grab dinner post match if you have any. Also, and please forgive if this is a silly question, but am I able to grab a pint inside the stadium once the match has started? (I don't have hospitality tickets)

Thanks in advance

Away tickets the struggle

I just wanna preface this by saying I know why the restrictions are in place but how does the club expect new season ticket holders to build up away qualifications with out being able to buy away tickets to do it ? Seem a flawed system. There are still tickets available for a few games I want to attend ( Wrexham and Lincoln) but don't meet the minimum away criteria a few years ago all you had to have was a season ticket makes no sense.

Aston Villa finalising Taylor Harwood-Bellis transfer agreement with Southampton

Aston Villa are in the process of finalising an agreement to sign Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis for a fee worth up to £30million.

The structure of the deal is in place, with bonuses needing to be finalised. There is an expectation that an agreement, worth an initial £25m, will be struck soon.
