Saw this on my walk today. Someone went all out with the kids drawings on the utility boxes. Actually made me stop and look. Does anyone know who did this?

Local News/Updates Police budget now over an 18% increase? (If you include the 5mil repair bill)

If they already added 5.7%, but left out 5 million in repairs, what is the truth? I know the labour people were unexpected but did the board not know they needed repair money? Sounds like they need a hiring freeze and some honest budget numbers.

Sounds like the sps needs some journalism.

Questions super low entry rec leagues

hi!! recently moved to Sarnia and looking to join a rec league or some sort of club that is good for beginners… I’m trying to get in shape and realizing I love to do group activities, but I never played sports growing up so it’s been intimidating figuring out something I could join. Any advice appreciated!

Questions Haircut

Anyone know of a cheaper place then First Choice to get a haircut? I went there the other day, my cut took 18 minutes, and cost $40 with tax and tip. $120+ an hour for a haircut seems expensive! Could be wrong, perhaps thats the norm, but any tips are appreciated.

Thank you!

Rants and Raves WHO IS PRICING FURNITURE AT RESTORE?! 🤯

I'm a seasoned thrifter - I like to shop at ReStore because I like Habitat for Humanity.

When we moved to Sarnia 6 years ago, the pricing tended to be pretty good. If you were willing to compromise on cleanliness, trend, or quality, you could usually find a good deal.

Lately, though? The pricing is unreal. $245 for a cabinet from the 80's - maybe early 90's. They didn't even clean it to list it at that price. $90 for a dirty and marked up bookcase. These are items you'd be lucky to move at a garage sale for $15.

I understand charging a high rate for the overstock items they have like the Blanco taps etc, but the rest of it is dirty, scratched, and most of the time, smelly, and they're trying to charge antique store prices.

Make it make sense.

Events It's an AI Slop Friday contest!

This week the mod team is trying something a little new. We are asking you to post the best of Sarnia AI slop from around the web for the folks here to review, comment and vote on.

A few groundrules though:

  1. It MUST have been posted by someone in Sarnia area or by a Sarnia person. This can include, but is not limited to businesses, restaurants and political candidates.

  2. If there are other commenters or names/photos caught in the post other than the poster, you need to black our their names before posting.

  3. To keep it recent, this has to have been posted in the month of August only.

If this is a hit, we can do it again, with themes, or something else fun.

Person who finds the most upvotes wins.... flair maybe? Meaningless points? bragging rights? The ability to name the next contest? I don't really know.

Questions Is Manchu Wok open again?

Just curious if Manchu Wok is open again. Google says it is but Google can be wrong about when restaurants are closed for renovations. Their website says online ordering is currently closed for the location so I've gotten conflicting answers.

I'd go myself to check but I'm busy with work for a bit and so I figured during my break here I'll quickly ask here. This way I can also ask if it is open again how have people been enjoying it since the renovations finished?
