Factory service manuals for ALL Saturns (except the EV1) for ALL MODEL YEARS. Free. No ads or quid pro quos.

It’s an Internet archive of automotive service manuals for just about everything that’s at least ten years old. Because at that point auto manufacturers expect you to junk the old one and buy a new one. So they don’t give a hoot about this website.

Enjoy!

Should I buy 05’ Vue?

Hello everyone, I would be a first-time Saturn owner, I’ve had Hondas in my past. But this vue caught my eye, even more when I learned that it has a J35 in it. I am looking at an 05’ Vue RedLine, it has 180,000 miles, owned by a mechanic, no rust, no issues, etc. Listed for 4,000. Worth it?

Anyone here interested in this old Saturn sign?

*SOLD* Came across this original Saturn sign and thought someone in this group may be interested. Measures 10.5x10.5 and would make for a great wall piece. Asking $50 + shipping here,

*UPDATE* Didn't expect this much interest so fast but appreciate everyone's messages. For the sake of fairness, I will respond to earliest responses first and go down the line. I do also have this listed on eBay if interested. Thanks for your understanding.

4 years

In 10 days, on September 11th, I will have purchased my car 4 years ago. Yes, stuff's a bit worse for the wear. But that's expected when you drive your car and love it. I would not change my purchase, but I would change it to how I got the car. I love my 2002. Sl1 In fact, I'd say it's probably a vehicle of all time is very notable in this place in history. Yeah, the transmission shifts worse than when I got it. But the transmission was never that great. The only thing I fear is when it dies, it's gonna explode everything, and that will be a very sad day cause the body is pretty rust, free for Minnesota. I would love to manually swap it. It aint the greatest whip.In fact , at heart , I'm gonna a buick guy It's just nothing like a Buick from the same time and yes, with 15 inch tires on it. It very is close to replicating it, but it's not the same specifically engine 'cause I love a good V6 But what can you do? My Buick is dead. My Saturn has a lot more life than I feel. I don't know how much but a lot

And thank you to any advice you guys have given me to help fix it. Combined with my uncle being a mechanic and a repair guide. I truly do feel that this car would last forever. Aside from the automatic transmission.

Odd starter symptom

2002 SL1 manual sohc

So its short and sweet. Longer highway trips seem to cause the starter to have a few extra cranks and its higher pitched. I can start stop 50 times a day in town driving and it never does it but it happens every time on road trips

Im thinking either the starter or charging system (battery or alternator) but if im wrong let me know.

Low mileage SL2 near me. Good deal or not?

There's a really clean '99 SL2 at a dealer near me with very low mileage (55k miles). Single owner and garaged, looks like very little rust in the dealer photo. It's listed at $6,800, which I've gathered is probably overpriced. But is it egregiously overpriced considering mileage and condition? I'm looking for a relatively cheap daily driver with decent mpg and repair-ability for the next 3-5 years while I pay down student loans. Lemme know your thoughts.

2005 V6 Vue poor gas mileage

My roommate just got a 2005 Saturn Vue in immaculate condition from an elderly couple that used it as a tow rig for their RV. It has a few issues that we have been addressing, but one thing that we both noticed is that the gas mileage horrible.

It has the Honda v6 engine and online it says that the car is rated to get at least 17 city and 23 mpg highway. We are consistently getting under 15 mpg with modest driving.

Is this normal? It has 160k miles on it. I'm going to change the spark plugs, change the air filter and clean the MAF sensor soon. Does anyone else have any ideas?

2004 ion code p0138

I'm getting this code and it seems to have started right after getting my exhaust replaced (including cat) it goes on about 40 miles after I clear it now. Before it seemed to stay off for longer periods. I was unable to pass NYS inspection. Is there anything I should do before replacing the sensor? I actually am starting to wonder if the replacement cat is defective.

Did you know, Saturns have names?

A while ago, I seen some videos of people showing the hidden nicknames of their GM trucks behind the cluster. They were the names of the quality assurance people in the factory but Saturn’s also have them! Found out mine was “Carrie”. it’s on the top of the gauge cluster.

as soon as I get home, car starts smelling like gasoline immediately. I checked hood and see nothing. Then i look under the car and its leaking Fuel. I checked for recalls but, only thing i can find is something about power steering pump or something like that going bad. If anyone can give me an idea what it could be. That be would appreciate it!

I parked next to another Saturn...

...and when I came back out there was a third! I didn't see the other two owners. Maybe they were eating in the restaurant.

I was probably more excited about the impromptu plastic car gathering in the parking lot than my god father was.

Thoughts on '95 SL1?

Post image
96 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I am considering purchasing a 1995 Saturn SL1 from a friend as a cheap, college daily driver (~$1,500). The car has been one family owned since new, spent most of its life garage kept and driven in California, and has had some nice recent maintenance, new parts, and been well cared for.

However, it currently has just over 172,000 miles, and although it still runs and drives well, was equipped with an automatic transmission. I am not sure if the fluid has been changed at some point; I will need to ask my friend. I'm still curious as to whether or not it's a good buy. Any thoughts would be much appreciated, thank you!

Sorry but google isnt being helpful or im being to vague. Does anyone know where cabin air is pulled back in to the system when its set to recirculate?

All the results im getting are for newer cars amd/or cars with cabin air filters. Im just trying to find it so i can stick a scope in it.

Replacement body panels

I have a 2001 SC2 and evidently someone backed into the rear driver side and now I have a hole in my rear quarter panel about the size of two grapefruits. Where can I get panels to replace?
