Migration?

Hey guys, I was just visiting PCB in Florida, USA, and for the past few days have noticed these gulls flying along the coast in a flock of what seems like thousands and thousands. Was just wondering what the purpose of this is for? I thought they stayed along the coast anyways, so I was just curious.
