The first console I ever played back in 1999/2000 at the house of some kid on my grandma's road. Finally found one on eBay for a good price with an analogue controller too! Had to do a lot of fiddling to get it to run, the magnet in the left trigger had popped out and I had to fit it back in with blu-tak. Installing Fenrir was extremely simple but actually getting the console open was a nightmare. But I managed it and now I can play all the homebrew and fantrans with zero compatibility issues!! So so hyped for the game nights to come!

I know that game got a terrible reputation, but I wanna know what's your personal opinion is about this early Sega Saturn game.

Is it really that bad or is his terrible reputation undeserved?

I went to a small, local game show yesterday, and was surprised to find more Saturn games for sale than I think I've ever seen at once, even back in the console's heyday! I've wanted both of these games for ages, but they've always been so hard to track down for a price I can swing (especially Clockwork Knight 2). So excited to give these guys a loving home!!

Over the the pandemic, I discovered Snatcher on Sega CD and fell in love with it. Now I have the opportunity to play the fan translation of Policenauts on Saturn. It’s a fantastic way to spend a rainy Sunday morning.

I recently got this and I love it. I only wish it had more than 3 tracks. The adjustments you can make to your car are pretty extensive. More than most racing games. I would give it an 8/10.

I recently bought from eBay an Japanese SEGA Saturn.
It wasn't cheap, but it was sold as fully functionnal and full mod (60Hz + Modchip CDR + EU 220V + FRAM Mod + Region free +Recap).

It looks like a Japanese mk1, but with a EU 220V power supply.

When I boot it, it displays the Hi-Saturn logo (witch is a shame, I would have preferred the original SEGA Saturn "shattering" logo), and I have several issues with it :
- the Access LED doesn't work at all, it never turns ON
- using the AV (SCART) video cable is impossible : the image stutters and flicks very often
- using a Kaico HDMI converter fixs the issue but the image lacks a few lines at the bottom
- a few original french CD games have display issues such as the bonus levels in Sonic 3D Flickies Island

I don't have any Japanese game to try out.

The TV I'm using is a 2008 french Samsung UE32LEB652 (LCD 1080p 50/60 Hz capable).

Can you help me identifying this console and maybe figuring out how I can fix it ?
I don't care about reading burned discs or NTSC games, but I will definitively buy a Saroo cart in order to stop using my old and precious discs...

Why does this game have to be so damn hard? Let alone collecting everything...

So many games look like they would be for a kid, but the difficulty is just brutal.

I got this saturn in a set of 3 junk ones from japan for 28 bucks.

When it arrived it was in pretty poor condition. It had scratches everywhere, sharpie in several places... It was really dirty.

I fully disassembled it and did a deep cleaning inside out. Took time to give a bath to the top and bottom shell, used steel wool to polish all scratches and make them disappear.

I couldn't get rid of its tanlines since it would require retrobrighting the bottom or repainting it. But since i don't have the tools and retrobrighting would risk damaging the shell, i prefer to keep it as is. I'm pretty satisfied of how it turned out.

I plan to go through the same process for the two others.

What are these - are they bootleg disks? I assume they don't run on an OG console? I've seen a few ebay listings that have them advertised as pre release builds and wonder what they are.

Back in the day my brother and i owned a version 1 black saturn. I recall owning a memory card too to save games. The thing is that alot of time has passed and im itching to starting a collection again but don’t know what region to buy. Any suggestions on what is the best console to buy and what to look for when researching consoles.

I'm thinking about making a game for Saturn, but the only Sega system the Wikipedia page for version 1 mentions is the Dreamcast. But it also says it was made in 1995, so can it work for the Saturn?

Recently took my Saturn's out of storage and have been enjoying them immensely. My only problem is that several games I never had as a kid but would love to try are rather pricey.

I'm seeing Saroo carts on ebay, Amazon, Alibaba, Aliexpress, etc.

The Sega Saturn had so many great controllers. I put together a video of all of the ones that I own, plus some of the expensive ones that I don't! I hope you guys enjoy.

Every emulator I try seemingly doesn't work or has some weird setup that I never had to go through with in any other emulators. Does anyone know an emulator that is simple and good?

This is a very famous quote that Stolar, who was the president of Sega of America at the time, supposedly said at E3 1997. But is there actually any video footage of him saying it? And if there isn't, is there any solid evidence, such as a magazine article or something similar, confirming that he really said it?

And btw, RIP to this great man. Even though I know he was a major reason why many Saturn games never came to the West or were released under poor conditions, he did great for Dreamcast

Hi! I recently got info that there’s a cheat function included in the MartinX72 firmware update from may this year. As a cheater I wanted to try it out, but it’s not working so well. I’m trying to find the PSKai-cheat file to upload to the MarTinX SAROO Cheat Builder, but without success. Can anyone guide me to where I can find it? Thanks!
