Finally gaining weight!!

My 15 yo girl has been struggling with eating. She’s always been small and never really food motivated, but as she’s aged it’s been harder and harder to get her to eat enough. In her youth she was only about 8lbs, but healthy. In the last year or two she really stopped preferring to eat, and at her skinniest she was just below 6lbs which really spooked me. Took her to the vet who said she looked great for her age, but she was so picky she wouldn’t even take the free churu (she never does tbf, the vet is always surprised at that).
Well today she weighed in at 7 pounds!! All that appetite stimulant and silly meal time rituals finally paying off! I’m so proud of her

yay pretty girl!
now wouldja care to share what sort of appetite stimulant y'all have been using?
our just-turned-16 (and otherwise mostly healthy) MeowCow is losing weight and i'm open to trying just about anything to help her.

Mirataz is what the vet prescribed, but I use about 1/3 of the dose for her. Started out with the full dose, but it caused her a lot of constipation issues. Right now we’re having good luck doing 1/3 of a dose every other day, but I may move it up to daily depending on how well she keeps this weight on.
That, plus trying to play with her more and feeding her smaller portions more often has really done wonders!

mobile vet was here a couple days ago. last round of bloodwork was about 3 months ago.
even if the meds are prescription only, hearing what works for folks is useful.
