I am sorry that you have had that experience. With everything human, there are no guaranteed rules of how people will behave. My intention is not to dismiss your experience, but just to share mine.
Also, how we approach other people can have a large effect on how they respond. If I tell my doctor, "this drug is hurting me," then the doctor could interpret that to mean that I think I know better than them what is hurting me, and furthermore, that because they prescribed the drug, they are hurting a patient whom they intended to heal.
If I say, "I am hurting and I am wondering if you think it could be because of this drug," then I am acknowledging their expertise and their good intentions.
