I'm annoyed at the confiscation of rubber mallets.

Im voicing my frustration that when I went through security, I was treated like a criminal for having a rubber mallets and tools.

The security guy tried to confiscate my entire toolbox with hundreds of dollars of various tools. I said "No, you are not taking my tools. If there is a tool you are concerned about, you can take the specific tool, not my entire toolbox." He argued with me and said that this is a festival and I dont need all these tools for a few days! I told him that I drove 2 days from the US and these tools are for me to repair my vehicle if I need them, and to assemble and repair my campsite. It seemed like a shakedown to take as much stuff as they could. They tried taking several non glass items and we had to prove they weren't glass. They seemed disappointed they couldn't take them. Do security get a bonus or something for confiscating stuff? They were really eager. Do they all divvy it up afterwards?

I made him get a supervisor and the supervisor told him to just take out sharp objects from my toolbox. He took my screwdrivers and then he took my hammer and rubber mallets for driving STAKES. He took 2 stakes and left the other 20 (wtf?) I asked how I was going to drive my tent stakes in and he told me to find a rock. Yeah right, there are no rocks in Sunshine, its a dirt field.

Then the security guy started lecturing me and saying they had to take the mallets so nobody would trip off their face on acid and attack people with the mallets. Like come on dude, is that really an issue there? Has that ever happened? it was even dumber because HELLO everybody has METAL STAKES and those are probably more dangerous than a rubber mallet. It was annoying and absurd logic. Its probably more dangerous to have thousands of unsecured tents and canopy than the risk of a tripping madman with a mallet.

Anyways, thats my complaint thx for listening.

Did they take your mallet?

Lost phone+fanny pack returned!!

Hey I’m not aura farming but just want to show you all what Shamb is about:

Coming back LATE Saturday night after raging at the Village, we were all making new friends on the shuttle bus. Had a lovely convo with the person next to us and they got off at the north camp ground. 5 mins later at our stop I’m checking to make sure that we have all of our stuff, and I see a beautiful teal fanny pack with a brand new flip phone in it. The cool ones with the huge screen. So I get back to my tent, give it a full charge then walk it down to lost and found. I left my # on a post it in the pack in case they needed more info. Just got this text on my lunch break and it made my day :)

The Logo Stickers in the march store are bland and too limited.

As of a few years ago, I could go on Etsy and order custom Shambhala logo stickers of any size, any color. Cool stuff that would change colors, etc.

Then, the merch store started selling them and all of the stickers online disappeared. It's obvious they enforced their trademark, it's their right. However, the merch store only offers a few sizes...bland colors like white or black.

Can they just find someone local who does vinyl stickers and allow custom orders? They can still get their cut. I really don't want to have to resort to sending the logo myself to order a custom sticker, but it's the last option.

Edit: March...merch... I'm leaving it up

Looking for Help. Shambhala Wrongfully Confiscated an Item from Me and Lost it

I had 3 two way Radios confiscated from my car during the security check entering the festival. Two of them were returned to me but the 3rd one valued at $110 USD was missing after being told if would be returned as well.

I started going to Shambhala in 2022 when it was sometimes impossible to reach my friends at the Village Stage because the cell service was spotty. We started using cheap walkie talkies from REI to solve this problem the next year.

Fast forward to 2026, a security check overheard my friends talking and got sketched out- asking if we were listening in on their radios. We told them no and that we had been using them to find each other on our own private channel.

As they were searching our car, one of the volunteers told us that radios in that style are illegal in Canada and that we could essentially be charged or arrested for having them. They would be confiscating the radios, but as with all other confiscated items we could get them back with a ticket number they would be giving us.

I have done some searching if the volunteer's claim about the legality was true. It seems he was referring to 5 watt radios, but the 2 watt models I was carrying should be legal. (Can someone from Canada perhaps confirm?)

For reference, here are the 2 different types I was carrying:

https://rockytalkie.com/products/mountain-radio

https://www.rei.com/product/895969/midland-t51vp3-2-way-radios-pair-with-charger

The first model, the "Rocky Talkie" is the one that's missing.

So at the end of the festival, I took my ticket to the confiscated items tent and presented it to the man working there. Only two of my 3 confiscated items were there. He had no clue where my third one was, no one I could contact to get this resolved. He did write my name and number down, but I certainly haven't been contacted. I was with my girlfriend and we were exhausted from the trip so we basically had to begin the trip home to Seattle.

So, here I am a month later. Shambhala has not answered either of my two email inquiries. I believe this item was

  1. Mistakenly and/or wrongfully taken as it is not specified on the prohibited items list, and doesn't seem to be illegal as they suggested.

  2. Either lost or stolen by the volunteers or someone in the organization. I was told I would be getting it back and it was not there where it should have been when I went to retrieve it.

And I think it's bullshit. Just on principle. Even if it was taken as a mistake on good faith it was still lost when it was supposed to be returned to me.

Does anyone know of a way for me to contact them or escalate this issue?

Bring back the ‘WOOOO’

My first year at Shambhala, you would hear the WOO a few times a day, and especially often during setup.

The first time I experienced the WOO, I remember hearing hundreds of people cheering somewhere in the distance. Slowly, it would make its way closer and closer to you. Eventually, it would reach wherever you were on the farm… and then continue on as this massive wave, rolling all the way across the festival grounds to the other side.

It was honestly magical.

I’ve talked to a few people who started attending Shambhala post-COVID, and they seem to think the WOO is pretty good now, but it’s nothing like it used to be.

It wasn’t something that happened in little pockets or isolated areas.. One single WOO would span the entire festival grounds. The entire farm would erupt. You could hear it coming from a distance, feel it reach you, and then hear it continue on across the farm.
With so many new people coming to the festival, while many longtime veterans have stopped attending, I think the WOO has become a little… broken/fractured.

But I genuinely think we can bring it back.
So, if you hear a WOO coming toward you from somewhere in the distance, don’t start yet!
Wait until the WOO reaches you. Then give it everything you’ve got. Encourage the people around you to join in. Tell your friends. Tell your campmates. Tell the new Shambhala attendees what the WOO used to be!!

Let’s see if we can get that wave moving across the entire farm again.

Shambhala, I believe in us.

Bring back the WOO. 🗣️🌲✨

Anyone remember this awesome food truck? I just had a flashback from 2011 and had to make one.

Parm, garlic/onion powder, seasoning salt hit the spot.

Any favorite food vendors from years gone by?

Planning our first Shamb in 2027

My festie besties and I have had Shambhala on our bucket lists for years, but we're from Michigan so the cross-country trek has been the only thing holding us back. ALAS! We have finally all agreed that 2027 is our year to RUN IT despite the long travel, we know it'll be worth it. I already have the date/time when tickets go on sale, so I'm ready to hopefully grab some tickets then. And I've been a part of this Reddit thread for a little while now, trying to gain as much insight as possible so I'm prepared as I can be. Any tips, tricks, words of advice that could help us? We usually car camp so will be attempting to purchase car camping passes; but, again, I'm very new to this so not sure if there's certain areas that you can buy tickets to car camp at or if it's a GA type situation. If not, what areas do you recommend going for? We also do plan to do early arrivals but since there's 8 of us, we are simply just going to try to buy the basic pass first and then purchase add-ons later.

We've only been to Electric Forest, Lost Lands, Elements, Summer Camp (RIP), FreakFest, Huluween, and Bonnaroo.

Lost Flowstar

So I know it’s a long shot, but my friend lost his flowstar on Thursday night before Crankdat and looked everywhere, checked the lost and found many times throughout the weekend and unfortunately it’s never managed to come back to him!

Hoping someone picked it up and can find it in their heart to send it to him, no questions asked. These things aren’t ground scores and he’s still devastated as this was his first flowstar and he really loved it!! We’ve tried checking online and unfortunately they no longer sell this design! Pm me here if you found it/have it and can return it to us! I know he’d be super grateful!

Riverside Glamping Question

For anyone who has specifically stayed in the Riverside Glamping tent accommodation (not the green yurt), did they have two beds / able to sleep 4px?

Website states 2 people MAX, but the box office this year on the farm told us it would be fine for 4 people and now I’m questioning this and don’t want to show up without a place to sleep in our group. I know the Belle Luxe tent can sleep 4px and confirms on their site, but that’s not what we bought and is in a different area.

Shambs hasn’t replied to my emails inquiring.

Tea recipe at the Grove?

Hello! This is random but I was so obsessed with the herbal tea at the Grove this year. Does anyone remember or know the exact ingredients used? I remember it was tulsi, peppermint and then blanking on the rest. I want to make at home and enjoy the Grove magic until next year. Thank you!

Does anyone have any videos of their set this year? They played a really fire techno-dnb track and I've been trying to find it. It sounded like this soundtrack from the movie Blade with Wesley Snipes but it was a DnB remix.

I went to Shambs and got Type 1 Diabetes

Not really but sort of lol.

This year was my first year at Shambhala and it was the most magical time ever. This festival always seemed just outside of my reach to attend and felt like a fairytale to try and make happen but this year we did it! The energy is unmatched and the feeling of "Home" is indescribable.

Upon the festival ending I got home to one of the worst Wook Flu aka Shambhalung battles I've had. Typical cough that turned into phlegm which progressed to my eye site becoming blurry and not able to get a nights rest without waking up multiple times to use the bathroom.

After a few doctors visits and demanding blood work to be done to try to figure out why I am not able to beat this wook flu after 2-3 weeks, I finally got the answer that I am actually a diabetic who had late onset type 1 as a 29 year old. Funny how life works sometimes and if there was any fest to have left my working pancreas at, Shambs would be my first choice!

This world is now new to me and I am curious what kind of T1D community is out there partying on the farm and would love to connect with anyone living life to the fullest while battling this disease.

Love you all so much and be careful out there, the dust is no joke!

Celebrities at Shambhala

I was thinking about how celebrities are seen at festivals like EDC. Part of me feels like Shambhala is the kind of place that its not impossible that ive walked past someone like Paris Hilton wearing a mask or something lol. I was wondering if anyone has had the experience of meeting an actor or famous singer or someone of the sort here before?

I somehow ended up stranded in Salmo after Shambhala 😂

Hey everyone! I’ve been putting together a video series about my trip across Canada, and Shambhala ended up becoming a pretty wild chapter of it.
This first episode doesn’t actually get to Shambhala yet, but eventually this whole adventure leads to me leaving the festival, getting stranded in Salmo, and trying to hitchhike my way out with a cardboard sign and all my luggage 😂
I thought some of you here might enjoy seeing how I somehow ended up there in the first place.

The Shambhala part is coming in the next episodes 🌲🚌✌️
