I have been trying to challenge myself to go back to practicing things more intentionally each time I get a dance session in. Even if it’s just for 15 minutes. I’ll pick a few movements to try and focus on and try to figure out how to transition in and out of them.

As you can see… I had a momentary brain glitch and didn’t know what to do to get out of the cow tails 😅

I stopped drilling things consistently a long time ago but I know that drilling and practicing transitions makes freestyle easier in the moment when your mind and body have those pathways already. So I’m back to it.

My plan for my practice sessions is do some drills and then always make sure to freestyle so I can keep getting better.

I also have some friends who want me to show them how to do this too so I may try to come up with beginner combos with the basics to show them when we meet up 😊😊😊.

I’m still just trying to get my arms more involved lol! I go off timing but it feels good to just let loose now. Freestyle is still regularly a challenge but it is truly becoming less scary now.

Are there shuffle meetups happening at North coast? It's my first time going and it would be cool to meetup with fellow shufflers.

I just started learning Melbourne shuffling and I was looking to start a club/group. I don’t know anyone up here that is also into EDM/shuffling. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I dance, in general, a lot. Lots of festivals, shows - hours on end. I'm finding my poor bony feet are struggling. I also can't get onboard with the giant sole shoes

So I haven’t been able to attend all the online classes BUT the weekly challenge I did today was so fun! We have had a huge focus on arms in August (sadly, I missed most of the classes and need to go back and watch the replays) but I didn’t really enjoy doing this one.

My hands were a little flapper/princess wave again lol! I haven’t done that in a long time and I can’t unsee it 😂💀🤣 BUT the upper body movements while dancing are feeling less weird now! So I’ll take it as a win lol!

I like the challenges she gives us because it gives us an opportunity to practice the things she teaches us live in the actual class. Just to help solidify things.

Haven’t been practicing as much due to energy and hot weather, but today was nice so I just felt like it. I think my timing has improved if anything and being able to shuffle along to music in general. Maybe I’ll keep improving!
