Identification Request Grew from some leaf litter collected in a forest
I had some moist containers of leaf litter and rotted wood that had this slime pop up a few days ago.
It’s now split into 4 containers and seems to be growing a couple cm per day - any way to get an ID or near to an ID? I am in NZ.
I also noticed one of the cultures has some parts of the growth turning almost brown - is this normal? Currently feeding oats.

Identification Request Slime mold perhaps?
My first reddit post! Macro and microscope photos, I hope the quality is alright. Found this growing on recently repotted soil. I don't know much, but google told me it was a slime mold. I hope the photos provided give enough information as I have no clue what the identification criteria are for these things. Figured I'd get more help here than /whatisit. Is this dangerous for my plant?

Video (OC) Chocolate Tube Slime in my backyard
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m always finding curious things in my backyard including a few slime mold types(Wolfs milk pops up every year or so), and I found this on a tree stump that’s full turkey tail mushrooms and some other fungi.

Question/Help My first thought was owl pellet but after looking closer I think I found my first slime mold in the wild??
I've been a sub here for a while because slime molds fascinate me. I've never seen one in person though (that I know of at least, maybe I just didn't recognize it as a slime mold) but I just found this at the edge of my driveway right next to my car. My only other guess would be a fungus of some sort?

Identification Request In a cedar wood fired hot tub. Looks White in water, green on thumb
We're going to get in the hot tub, any ideas on identification?
Longest string looks about 3-4 inches, many shorter strings floating in the water. It's unheated when there isn't a fire going.

Question/Help How to keep a pet slime mold?
Hi everybody, I’ve just bought a slime mold called physarum polycephal . I was wondering if there’s anything cool that I can put it in apart from a Petri dish as I want to grow it more like a pet than a project and what I can grow it on as agar is hard to come by near me. Any tips on how to keep it alive would be much appreciated and if any of you guys are also growing them in anything cool looking then please do show me aha.

Picture (OC) First slime mold!
I recently water my propagation bin that's in my indoor greenhouse and now this popped up on some cuttings that didn't make it. I was so excited! There's probably 6 clusters of it all over

Identification Request Is this a slime mold that popped up in the wood chips outside of my garden fence? CT, USA
I posted on mushroom ID and someone suggested it could be a slime mold and not a mushroom at all! Any and all info helps, never learned about slime molds before

Question/Help Seeking advice for a first time slime keeper to be.
Slimemold Wizards, I seek your knowledge.
I plan on keeping a slime mold alive inside a air tight terrarium (probably a glas vase), a few plants maybe springtails, maybe some other critters.
How do I keep the amobazoa alive? How often a week do I need to feed it? What is better oats or fish food flakes?
What are your experiences?
How do I keep it in it roaming state and prevent it form maturing into its sexual form and die off? or is that inevitable? If it goes sexual and produces spores, will they "sprout" in the terrarium?
I will porbably buy my slimemold as a dehydrated slime on a few oats, how long can it last in its dried form?
Whats the best slimemolds to keep?
What is some general knowledge I as a novice should know?
Thx for the repleis

Question/Help Looking to buy or trade for cool slimes!
I am looking to purchase small starter cultures of a few neat slime molds! Mostly searching for cool colors, unusual textures, or people's favorite slimes. Unusual stuff (but preferably easyish to grow) that's not commonly found online, no physarum polycephalum.
I can buy from hobbyist/keepers personally or you can point me to a favorite shop that stocks cool slimes! I can also trade live mosses, reindeer lichen, and other pesticide-free goodies.

Identification Request Blue and Fuzzy?
My father found this fungus outside of his office. I am not sure if this is slime mold to be honest but I closest thing I've seen was a post on this reddit of some Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa.
This is in a moist area that gets maybe 1/3rd of the day in sun my dad said. The bed gets mulched maybe w times a year or so I'm not entirely sure. This is the East Coast U.S. in southwest Virginia in a valley of the Appalachias.
Very curious as to what it could be!

Question/Help If blue is the one color in nature that is hardly seen in anything organically, how do some slime molds or others create beautiful colors, of which could be deep blues.
I like blue cheese but don’t know the science of how they make it. I know that it’s a good mold and not a bad one, and through the process of making it - it is created naturally. I was just wondering because of how beautiful some of the colors are it’s astounding
