Hello, I'm new to sofubi. I've been collecting art toys, action figures etc for a long time but I've just recently been getting interested in sofubi. I particularly enjoy the kaiju/Godzilla pieces that I've seen but my interest isn't limited to them. I was curious, is there a site that I should check out for getting some sofubi that are on the more affordable side of things? I'm basically looking for some cheaper and smaller pieces to start for someone like me that is new.

A little late to the party, but I finally pulled the trigger on my first* sofubi. I chose to wade shallow and familiar for my first small pile, going with some CCP Middle Size (1954) Goji, and one (1995). My hope is to find the rest of these series' in short order, though if finding them is anywhere near along the lines of finding those damnable McDonald's toys, I may just decide to be happy with what I have LOL

I have a request; a couple, actually.

(1) Can anyone recommend any reading on the subject? Anything from history and collecting to subject-specific. Every time I find another article, I find out a little bit more, but I also see half a dozen new directions to start looking into. What got you into the hobby? Are you a carver, a painter, do you cast the toys, themselves, or are you like me "HAHA me like Godzilla toy!"

2) Aside from happening upon them at garage sales and hidden toy shops, what's your favorite source for sofubi?

Anyway, I always enjoy seeing everyone's haul, and am excited to begin my own collection.
