He needed the cops to be able to tell that he's white so he doesn't get shot every 15 minutes

14

u/MikonMan 9h ago

In that case, all he had to do was take off his gloves

u/TrippySakuta 1d ago

Hey, at least it gave us Akechi as Spider-Man, even if none of us asked for that lol

50

u/That-Rhino-Guy Spider-Man (TASM) 22h ago

I like Robbie but there was a really weird feel when he voiced Peter in other projects, it’s fine here as Peter is a kid but in something like MVC it was so strange, cause Robbie’s voice for Peter fits a very young, less experienced Peter but the writing is closer to MVC3’s rendition of Peter who clearly is a pro

0

u/doloresp0ppy7257 11h ago

what lens did you use for that shot

14

u/Rising-Jay 22h ago

Never was on board with that choice gonna keep it real. He works for anime type voices but he never really sat well for me as Peter

8

u/LarryNadalZ 20h ago

Based Persona fan

9

u/Rhodium-Veil 22h ago

I'm still sorta bitter that the previous Spider-Man cartoon had four different Loki stories but Robbie Daymond Spidey didn't get to face him even once.

2

u/Raaaaandyyyy 11h ago

I just wish his direction wasn’t to be the version of Tom Holland’s Peter that people who hate him see(I assume-I loved Tom’s Peter since day 1), cause Robbie’s performance is just the ‘uwu soft boy’ element dialed up to 11. Some of the angst he’s capable of, showcased with characters like Akechi, would’ve been peak, but we just weren’t in that era of the character at the time.

Edit: except for that one time in the ‘origin’ miniseries for this where he said “I just want to hear your screams” to the robber that killed Uncle Ben. That shit was kind of hardcore and I wish that energy carried onward.

49

u/AKingQ 23h ago

To be fair that suit was more of a reference/cameo. To Scarlett Spider.

u/jo5parkles3787 19h ago

This entire show was stupid

203

u/SwordoftheMourn 1d ago

Cloak and Dagger showcasing their powers in it were cool tho

-5

u/gladyschurr08010 10h ago

omg i did this last week too

29

u/Ninja_Cezar 19h ago

I liked it. I really liked blackcat, the bad luck gimmick I mean. I liked venom alot. I really, really hated the "everyone has spider powers" arc. I skipped it right away. So bad. So terrible. Wish I got more of the home-made symbiote tho, that was sick.

8

u/Interesting_Bass_917 17h ago

fair but its not like it made the bad luck gimmick

0

u/Ninja_Cezar 17h ago

Idunno, never seen that gimmick before in the other spidey series: the OG 1994, Unlimited, Ultimate, Spectacular, etc...

7

u/Interesting_Bass_917 17h ago

It's been in the comics a couple years after her introduction. 70s/80s

2

u/Clintwood_outlaw 16h ago

And even before it was confirmed, it was implied she had something to do with luck

11

u/Clintwood_outlaw 19h ago

Black cat was fine. She was just Black Cat with a slightly dulled character. Venom wasn't venom. Didnt act anything like Venom. But it became completely unwatchable when everyone got spider-powers.

40

u/Glitched_X_ 22h ago

Its common ball

5

u/The_HollowGuy 22h ago

Not so common, trust me

9

u/Glitched_X_ 22h ago

Really? I watched and compared to others it was pretty bad

4

u/alvents 22h ago

i like the symbiote arc honestly

4

u/SonicFlash01 Superior Spider-Man 19h ago

This was the one that thought shading was for suckers?

1

u/Desert_Tortoise_20 Spider-Man (Movie) 5h ago

What show was this?

76

u/Pantless_Pajamas 1d ago

The only thing good about this show was superior spider-man

34

u/Emporio-Alnino 22h ago

Not gonna lie understandable i remember this 3 hit combo on dagger each week

3

u/gladys5nugglebug3098 16h ago

wait that's actually sick

22

u/Basic-Tax4661 22h ago

You see, the original would’ve been so much better if his mouth wasn’t exposed. But man h the other one looks so cool

5

u/WassupFrankHere 20h ago

If his eyes weren't visible and his mouth wasn't exposed it would look pretty decent

17

u/BlueBorbo Spider-Man (Takuya Yamashiro) 21h ago edited 21h ago

There's not much I even like about this because it fucked so much up

Flat unrendered artstyle with zero line weight variation...adapts Ultimate Spider-Man but forgot what made it enjoyable...Spider-Verse stuff...eugh.

1

may i ask, do you have adhd?

1

u/BlueBorbo Spider-Man (Takuya Yamashiro) 3h ago

Not that i'm aware of

28

u/Thomas_Pandit 23h ago

pretty sure he abandoned it cause the suit i think looked too scary

18

u/HospitalLazy1880 21h ago

No he said it was too much. Essentially he saw it was cool and said nope

2

u/myrtlefr0ggy3122 7h ago

lol same honestly

32

u/Theta-Sigma45 23h ago

Characters in universe acting like the scarlet spider suit is trash despite it being the coolest thing ever goes way back tbf.

7

u/AnyLynx4178 20h ago

Also TBF, Peter Parker’s a big dork and probably wouldn’t know drip if he saw it

-1

u/johnniec0okie6725 20h ago

lmao the fact it took you that long to get the shield to fit

1

u/AnAbnormalOddity Web-Man 13h ago

Hello Bot

6

u/throwawaytempest25 22h ago

Guys, he was literally just trying to figure out things the first time he got powers.

5

u/KuryoTheDemonLord 23h ago

I think in-universe he thought it looked too scary and intimidating, but I personally also like to think he thought it was a little too cool to use as a suit just for testing out his powers.

15

u/TheCrazedEB Ultimate Spider-Man (6160) 1d ago

That's the disney mcu tax. I wouldn't be surprised if this suit was chosen by riding the coattails of mcu starting suit

13

u/Sad_Carry_7070 23h ago edited 22h ago

The suit in top image seems more like a poor or lazy rip off of Tom Holland's homemade suit whereas the suit in the bottom image is more of a homage to it while also doubling as a reference to Ben Reilly's iconic suit.

2

u/TheCrazedEB Ultimate Spider-Man (6160) 22h ago

yup 100%

1

u/TylertheFloridaman 7h ago

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't this show come out way before

1

u/TheCrazedEB Ultimate Spider-Man (6160) 18m ago

no iirc civil war was 2016 and SM by disney was 2017

3

u/Starr-Lead 17h ago

I love when they show the "Scarlet Spider" suit as a joke, they did it on Ultimate Spider-Man aswell

8

u/Flaky-Ninja2398 23h ago

No he didn't.

I've never seen this show.

3

u/Kitchen_Reach1985 23h ago

I remember he said something like too much or something lol.

3

u/sunstruker 14h ago

i have a theory that there were plans to add ben in the show, and this was the reason the other suit was not the main training one

3

u/Secure-Sun-6430 10h ago

The concept/promotional art of this suit didn't have the mouth hole, for some reason the show added that at some stage.

But it isn't offensively bad with a more traditional mask. Whatever overhaul happened, turned this into the sauceless fit we know today.

3

u/VokunDovah64 23h ago

"It's time for a Peter Parker original, y'know ? 1 of 1"

2

u/Pugzilla3000 Spider-Man Noir 21h ago

I can understand it for one reason.

I’d be far less intimidated as a civilian by the goofy one if I didn’t know who Spider-Man was

That mouth hole is still stupid as though, will be called bug boy for all the flies in his teeth after swinging.

2

u/Ok-Cycle-8 20h ago

Spy?!!

2

u/AnAbnormalOddity Web-Man 13h ago

That Spider-Man's a Spy!

1

u/Ok-Cycle-8 13h ago

THAT SPIDER-MAN IS NOT ONE OF US!

2

u/LoneWanderer21699 18h ago

This show's animation is hideous anyways so It doesn't even matter lol

3

u/Ok_Repeat_5052 23h ago

Bro was acting like the whole suit was connected. He could've just kept the mask if the rest was too much.

2

u/Fast-Opening-1051 22h ago

His bum ass also stole those clothes from Aunt May
/img/7yawwpepewmh1.gif

1

u/Cyan_Goji 22h ago

Good thing that series was cancelled. Peter constantly spewing scientific jargons instead of memorable banters was the ridiculous move Disney ever done.

1

u/Tasty-Ad-1220 21h ago edited 21h ago

The suit he chose looks absolutely nothing like spider-man at all besides the colors that one actually looked cool plus I really loved the blue hoodie with the red spider logos

1

u/Fast_Day_8123 21h ago

well.... the show did have some good ideas and POTENTIAL story telling
but the look..... MY GOD, is it the ZSJL to be this dimlit without any lighting and shadows?

1

u/PracticalShock4109 21h ago

Atleast he had an amazing MJ

1

u/ArfTheBeast 21h ago

I mean a big goal of Spider-Man is whimsy

1

u/notangeli 20h ago

I think we have to admit that, despite the huge amount of incredible Spider-Man content out there, there’s also been some pretty questionable stuff along the way😄 And when it comes to animated Spider-Man shows, I still don’t think anyone has managed to top the 1994 series.

1

u/Aircon-007 20h ago

Imagine being the most useless Spider-Man in your own show with like 4 other spider people.

1

u/PerceptionBetter3753 19h ago

This show was so ass..

1

u/Familiar-Possible277 7h ago

Too much Aura for the beta suit

1

u/Temporary_Sell_9896 23h ago

Which show is this

1

u/GrandAdmiralSpock 13h ago

That entire show was dumb... All of the supporting cast were geniuses, spider people or both and while I appreciate the Superior Spider-Man arc... Everything else sucked.

-1

u/Sorry_Development 22h ago

I stopped watching this after three episodes? Two? I forget. Four?

0

u/ItsMeepo2nd 21h ago

The best part about this show? Turning it off after finishing the Superior Spider-Man arc.

0

u/TEAMBUCKLEsonny18 19h ago

It is cause aunt may asked where her sweats where like 2 seconds after Peter pulled up in that fit lol

0

u/spidey-ball 10h ago

This show was full of the Worst design ive ever seen, and combined with the bland artstyle made a horrid combo. Props to them for making the superior spider-man suit look bad.

0

u/aleconthescope Spider-Man (Marvel Rivals) 9h ago

is the spectacular or ultimate series?

1

u/Stusheep_real 3h ago

Neither

It’s Marvel’s Spider-Man (2017)

-1

u/ProfessorEscanor Spider-Women (Mattie Franklin) 21h ago

There are like 3 things I like about this show.
1. Ben reinterpreting the Great Power Speech into a science equation so Peter understands.

  1. Peter using Ben's old bike that one time.

  2. Anya existing in a piece of Media even if she's not accurate.
