Question Jones Solution sizing questions
Hey guys,
I'm a snowboarder who has only done backcountry skiing, but now I want to try splitboarding. There is a used Jones Solution in 154cm size that I could buy, but I am worried that this might be small for me?
I am 174cm tall and weighs between 67-73kg (it fluctuates quite a bit with the different types of training I do). My shoe size is 26.5cm, which usually is between US 8.5 to 9.5.

Get another board. Solution is not right for someone just making the switch.

My 2 cents, the board is not too small for you, it's on the low end of your size range but fine. The solution is stiff and might not be fantastic for a newer snowboarder but if you've got some time riding and youre just transitioning to split its a good all round board, particularly if its cheap. Max from Alpenglow did a great rundown last year, check it out.

I've been riding snowboard for almost 30 years. I have a lot of powder experience, I just have never done splitboard before. So then Solution is still a good board for me?

If I were buying a new, single board as an experienced rider, first time splitter, I'd likely go Jones Stratos or Frontier 2.0, or maybe United Shapes Covert. The solution is stiff and great to charge with, its on the shorter length range for you which will counter this a tad. The selling point here is that its a good board, second hand... is the price right?

It's a good price. I have also read a lot about Frontier 2.0 being really good. I have notifications on these boards being sold locally second hand, and this Solution is the best price I found so far.

If the price is right, I think its a fine board to get your feet wet. If there are second hand Stratos or Frontier options at similar or slightly higher price I'd take those. Either way, I think you'll get the right taste for splitting and know if you want to keep it up :)
Disclaimer: I've ridden the covert split and the other two boards in their solid shapes so I can't speak to the differences between the split or solid versions

I'd get it- I am 5'6" and 170lbs and ride a 152 solution. rides great.
