ISO: Travel Agent

Trying to book a vacation. I'm not sure exactly how to go about it and have been looking for a travel agent/agency in Springfield but I can't find one. Help please?

Not an agent, but I recommend Hotel Lombardy on Pennsylvania Avenue. We went in February, plenty warm to walk around town. The rooms are currently showing at ~130/night. They get more expensive in March.

The hotel is centrally located, was very clean, and I was super happy with the room. You’re close to a couple different Metro stations, and you’re like 4 blocks from the Whjte House. A really good restaurant, Founding Farmers, is across the street.

A friend loves this hotel. I've never been but she uses it when she goes to DC.

I loved it, I don't know that I'd even try staying anywhere else. Nicest and biggest bathroom I've had in a hotel room. Staff was wonderful. I think the price is stupid cheap given the location, and was cheaper than all of the chains.

While I book most of my business and personal travel myself, I use Karen K at Direct Travel for the times that require an agent. They certanly make complicated travel easier.

How tight is the budget? A travel agent costs money and eats into your actual vacation budget.

You can do this on your own. The internet has made booking hotels, spas, travel, mass transit, so incredibly easy.

If you're flexible on dates, most airline websites show that this particular Tuesday or that particular Saturday are cheaper flights.

Research, review and shop around for deals.

DC in the spring can be pricey because of the cherry blossoms. I think you need to book almost a year out to get a decent room.

Try finding a hotel on a Metroline, close in. It will be significantly less expensive but more convenient.
