Luxembourg Times published an interesting article about the Sproochentest, including comments from INLL deputy director Luc Schmitz.

One thing that really stood out to me (in addition to the 40% fail rate) was that candidates can arrive without fully understanding what the assessment requires and can be surprised by the questions. That was certainly the case for me. I had memorized the basic questions and answers- but got lost when different tenses were used.

Knowing vocabulary or practicing familiar questions is one thing. Being able to recognize where a question is going- present, past, future, opinion, explanation and respond when the direction changes is another.

I created a free Sproochentest Interview Self-Check to help you test exactly that. It's something that I would have wanted to know. It’s not an official assessment and it doesn’t predict whether you’ll pass. It’s simply a way to see what happens when the questions start changing direction.
