Question - Help Image gen with 9060xt

I'm planning on getting a 9060xt 16gb for image generation. I've previously used Automatic1111/Forge with nVidia. I'm wondering if I can reproduce my workflow easily using a 9060xt. I don't mind moving to another application if A1111 is not compatible with AMD but I'd like to know: (a) is AMD compatible with most checkpoints and loras from sites like CivitAI and (b) how fast is generation with AMD compared to nvidia, as in, the 9060xt is comparable to a 5060ti in terms of gaming but can it generate images as quickly?

Yeah, it'll run anything you throw at it.

Here is the AMD-optimized version of ComfyUI that is easy to install: comfyui-rocm

For the current price of a 5060 Ti, you could buy a 9070, to be honest.

Oh nice i thought rocm was still linux exclusive i still got my 6900xt lets see what it can do

I have a 9070 xt and it runs all the models well on Ubuntu 26.04 comfyUI

My 9070 xt is overall faster than a 5060 ti 16gb but it varys a ton for what model and the 9060 xt 16gb is def noticeably slower than the 5060 ti 16gb but the 16gb is nice for its price.

I never tried A111 but should def use ComfyUi

Thanks. Could you also share how much slower the 9060xt is compared to the 5060ti for the same generations? I don't mind slower so long as it's not slow as molasses.

9060XT is a legit beast now for ComfyUI and can be found for $500 USD new. The 5060TI is around $800 and similarly prices as the 9070XT. If you can find it used, the 7900XTX with 24GB of vram is an absolute monster and can be found for $600 used. You could stack 2 9060XTs for $1000 and get 32GB of shared vram.

I'm interested between the 9060xt and the Arc B50 for reasonably priced GPU with large VRAM capacity. I'm just unsure if the APIs they use have performance reasonably close to nVidia's.

AMD is improving but still very much inferior. The 16 GB 5060ti is a much better GPU for image and video gen. Runs all the same models/checkpoints but doesn't use the same back-end. AMD doesn't have the same optimizations available and you pay for it in performance, quality, or both. And the deeper you get (eg, training), the worse the disparity.

This is only true if you evaluate through the eyes of an AMD fanboy that refuses to acknowledge the value of the AI features like multi-framegen, ray reconstruction, etc. In actual gameplay with reasonable settings, it's a slaughter.
