Greetings Citizens!

10 years ago, in a now-deleted post by a now-deleted user, the Star Citizen Tools Wiki project was founded.

Since then, tens of millions of users have visited the wiki, adding up to hundreds of millions of pageviews, perhaps more! The Fandom Wiki was defeated and salvaged, and the community has been with us in spirit and support the entire time.

Take a look at our new revamped Front Page and marvel at the slick Mediawiki skin (It's called Citizen!). Marvel at our oldest joke page from the 2016 Live Stream. The Lunch Button! Gaze upon the very newest ship, the S-65 Stingray.

As always, come join the discussion and shared fun in the Our Discord server. We love feedback of any kind. Every Admin loves pings, especially DuskFyre.

Finally, support through our Patreon and Ko-fi is the only way we can manage to run the site without Advertisements. Please consider donating for our continued ad-free existence!

DISCUSSION What's Your Daily Flyer - Q3 Discussion Thread

Welcome legends, to Daily Flyers!

This is the first of a slowly cycling thread where we can come together and chat about the ships of Starcitizen, in context of what your daily drivers/flyers is, or discuss ideas and seek recommendations from others.

Thanks to a suggestion from Augusts Q&A reminding me of a few chats I've seen, I figure a lot of us would like to have a spot that's focused on this aspect specifically. To that end, a couple of rules for this post are below!

So if you have a question, after a recommendation request or looking to discuss how your current driver has fulfilled it's role, this is the place to yarn!

Daily Driver Rules:

Keep discussions on topic to daily drivers, what yours is, asking for recommendations, that kind of jazz.

Adhear to the regular sub rules.

Be kind, understand that some people want to play to earn, some may buy in, some just want to chat or share. There's no shame in any of those.

A note from Crazy_Muffins

This is possibly a new ongoing official post from the sub team, our goal is to provide a focused spot to chat about a specific big thing in SC and to that end we'll be playing with how often to cycle out the post with a clean one. Maybe once every quarter, maybe just big milestone patches, we're going to play it by ear!

My only request is that everyone is kind, you can discuss positive and negative aspects and still be fair to one another. That's all I want to see!

Well, that and acknowledgement that my Corsair is peak daily driver (for ME, it is, but that's partly because of the feel and vibe of it not that it's any particular min/max option).

Lastly, I'm open to feedback, ideas and what have you. Working together we can make for a more enjoyable sub, see you all in the comments below!

SOCIAL CIG moderation now employing thread sinking to suppress unwanted Spectrum threads.

Post image
889 Upvotes

I’ve come across a Spectrum post of a user reporting that, allegedly, some threads on Spectrum cannot be upvoted, and wondering why this is the case. They shared this response preview picture in their post.

The answer why this is happening may be right there in the error message.

As someone who worked on a proprietary forum backend API before, I can tell you that what you’re seeing is called “thread sinking”. It’s a tool sometimes employed by moderation to prevent unwanted bumping of threads you don’t want to gain visibility on your board, for whatever the reason may be.

Basically, it’s a more subtle way to prevent certain threads from gaining visibility and getting into search engine front pages. Not saying Spectrum is getting any search engine traction, but when I did the work on the API I worked on, this was the reason.

You don’t have to believe me, just google “forum thread sinking”.

EDIT: fixed a few grammar errors

IMAGE This is actually useful for swapping out loadouts, and makes me hyped for suit lockers. Storage is convenient to store ammo/medpens/cruz/etc. Pistol stands also hold multitools, which is awesome.

DISCUSSION CIG - What happened to Personal Habs & Building Interiors?`

Upvotes

On many occasions in the past, you've talked about us having personal habs and building interiors, including places where there could be missions and even places we could buy and decorate.

You keep giving us all this furniture, decorations, flair, but we really don't have anywhere to really put it. You've mentioned letting us expand our Personal Hangars, but I have a very strong feeling things like that are well past 1.0 dreams.

Could we get at least one "room" in our Personal Hangars that would be empty that we could decorate with all the cool stuff you keep giving us? Even in the small hangar, there's space to put a room, taking out some of the 'immersive' set dressing.

GAMEPLAY How does that not work yet!!

So I wanted to haul some cargo in my Hermes. Got to the station, bought my cargo and let it auto-load. Got back to the terminal and retrieved the ship, take the elevator to my hangar and surprise the piece of ship ship clipps halfway through the hangar floor. Try to store and retrieve it again. Nope, it’s fucking gone and all cargo with it (about 700,000 UEC). This type of thing probably has been posted hundreds of times, but how do simple gameplay mechanics still don’t work? So frustrating and just makes you don’t want to play.

DRAMA I'm from Kickstarter, And that's what I've got.

First of all - I want to say thanks to all of those, who managed to read the whole post. The Star Citizen universe became huge part of my life, not just a hobby, but a place where I met multiple amazing people, got tons of emotions and years of really cool experience no game could provide.

I was from the start of the Kickstarter campaign, and actually believed what Chris told me from the scene (how naive I was), but that's not really matter for now, after more than a decade.

For some reason I can't actually play any other games because I really love SC universe that much - absolutely amazing people in there, helping each other, sometimes griefing each other XDD, etc. BUT now for me the game became an absolute mess. Why? - Many gameplay things added - are just broken for multiple patches.

I've played SC for thousands of hours and I'm really tired of that "bad server" take is still a thing, I'm really tired that in 2026 we still sometimes can't basically reload fps weapon and having stuck animations, that in 2026 we still have broken cargo elevators cig couldn't fix for at least a year while whole community was complaining, that in 2026 we still have such important reward parts of the game as CZs and Warehouses broken, with broken terminals.

I love this project and community from the deep of my heart and want it to develop in the best way possible, but, jesus, why the fundamental things in this game are still not working correctly after more than a decade of my dedication to this project.

If I could say something important to CIG - I would say that, guys, now we want actual product, working product, without "its an alpha", without "no when questions", just fix the fundamentals we, as players, use each time, and nearly each time - its broken. Star Citizen is an amazing game, when it works. So, if you want to make it really amazing - make it work.

I don't want another patch bundle & ship. I want a patch with numerous bugfixes, fixing fundamentals of this game, making it amazing and providing really cool experience. That's what we need. And as much as you guys delayed squadron - let us start to enjoy the Star Citizen universe.

I've ran Siege of Orison twice, one time in solo, second time - with my friend. Both of these times I had numerous D-syncs with my inventory & weapons. It was just disappearing from my hands, not realoading, etc. And I had absolutely same experience in bunkers 6 years ago, guys. What instances and server meshing gave us, if we still have such bugged mess? Yes, you gave us another architecture & principals of servers repositioning their powers, BUT, we still got that FPS experience we've got 6 years ago. Its an actual nonsense.

Yes, sometimes Star Citizen can provide pretty smooth experience and I had that many times. And that's what I want to say - if the game worked as intended - it could be an absolute blast of a game. But 90% of my experience is spending hours to workaround the bugs we're facing.

And about "no when questions" - its even a different thing. Why me, as 10+ years backer - can't ask when I'll get the product I payed and dedicated to for multiple years? This feels like a joke. I can and I want to ask when will I get certain things absolutely needed for this project.

You, CIG, probably the only guys possible to make this project complete. And I'm a bit sad seeing the project getting this direction. So I want to ask - when will we actually see Star Citizen universe actually work as intended? When will I stop spending hours writing bug reports on issue council instead of actually having smooth experience, even with old content you added?

By writing this post I just want to say, that I'm proud to be a part of amazing people we've got around SC, and I'm really worried by what's going on around the project. And, I'm afraid, that if nothing will change in near future - there's nothing to save the situation around it.

SOCIAL They un-tagged all posts about GATAC Syulen. So I helped repopulate that topic.

Pretty straight forward. I went to see if there were any posts about one of my favorite ships only yo find they had all been un-tagged! I'd hate for folks to not understand things about this ship, so I repopulated the topic.

I would love to hear from CIG why this happened. This topic was useful for anyone interested in this ship after seeing older content on youtube or elsewhere. Especially while things were not reflecting the current state of the ship or its nerfs.
