Configuration Steam input/bindings question

The problem I'm having is that any very short inputs that are bound to LMB or RMB (in my case, tapping RT for an extremely short time (such as to spam it)), seems to result in the mouse click being held down indefinitely until I press it again. Does anyone know of an option/way to fix this?

Not sure if this is a good place to ask (I'm using an Xbox controller/don't have a Steam controller), but I was hoping you guys know quite a bit about the steam input options since they should be about the same for both controllers.

Edit: I've found an option in RT full pull-->settings to add a Fire End Delay. This (obviously) makes an input end after you let go, which has fixed my issue since it can stop the input from being able to be short enough to have the issue. I set the fire end delay to ~35ms, and it seems to have stopped it.
There might be a better solution, but nothing that I can think of, short of changing how steam input works, would fix it.

Make sure the analog trigger option is off. Then you should be able to set the threshold exactly where you need it

I've had a look at it, but can't see a way to change the full trigger pull threshold. I could swap to using soft pull (as you can change threshold on that), but I don't think it would fix the issue. I still want to be able to do very short presses, and was mostly looking for a fix for the weird bug, rather than changing the effective durations of trigger pulls.
I already had analog trigger set to off. Ty for checking though.

I have found a consistent fix for the glitch with the Fire End Delay option, which does change the effective duration of trigger pulls unfortunately, but still allows me to do short inputs easily (at least as short as I can without it taking it as a request to hold the input).
Also I probably should have specified this was for a game, so the ability to do extremely short inputs matters (unlike in menus/normal windows stuff).

Ah I see. I feel like soft pull might be able to work though. Maybe I'm not understanding the issue

are you using modeshift and actionlayers?

I don't think so (I haven't turned those on, so I'm not unless they're on by default)

no, just asking cause modeshift and actionlayers don't play nice with each other and can lead to sticky inputs, trigger is especially vulnerable as the analog range can actually jump past the release.

Does this happen in multiple games or just one game (and which games specifically)? I've tried and failed to replicate this, and I think this is most likely a game issue rather than a Steam Input issue.

Here's how I would solve this issue. Select the gear to the right of the command, select Add Extra Command and add the same command again. For the second command, select the gear to the right of it, select Regular Press to open the activator menu and select Start Press. This will ensure the command is always send for a minimum amount of times, without changing how the trigger behaves if held down longer than that time. It might be necessary to add a Fire End Delay to the Start Press (you can temporarily remove the other command to make it easier to figure out what the minimum delay should be).

It's been happening on PEAK (the climbing game) for me. I haven't used steam input on other games. The issue doesn't happen if I do the same short inputs with an actual mouse though, only for controller mapped to a mouse button.
I've put the settings to what you recommended, but I don't have time to test it rn, so I'll update this comment or respond again when I am able to. Ty for the suggestion!
