Decky Broken??

Hey y’all. I have had Decky for the past few years. Has had its quirks here and there, but all in all I enjoy having it. A little bit ago while trying to load into MGS4 my deck froze so I had t hit it with a hard reset. Turn it back on and my Decky plugin was just gone.

I have gone through and updated to a recent release, and it still doesn’t show anything. I uninstalled to then reinstall, and nothing. I have even fully wiped it only to reinstall and still not there.

Any solutions to what I can do???

Hey pale you not the only one I’m also going through that problem, we will just need to wait until someone has a fix for it unfortunately I’m not capable of being that someone 😂

Sounds like something we just wait to be updated in a day or two! This is good news. Glad my deck isn’t just freaking out on me.

Yes, it’s definitely an update issue. I tried all the methods I could think of, even using Grok to get some tips, but none of them worked. There’s nothing wrong with our deck; it must be some update that we’ll have to wait for to resolve this issue. Just an FYI.

Download Decky again but with the previous version, I just got that answer from the Decky thread

Decky breaks and causes issues often. Just wait for an update

I had to switch to the latest pre1 release but I’m running 3.9 on the preview channel. Might be worth a shot

I just had this issue, but I updated my steam deck to one of the new releases it just had. On top of updating my steam control controller. Once the steam deck restarted, decky loader was gone. I attempted to download the latest release again from the decky website but it still did not pop up in gaming mode. Any advice would be appreciated on how to get this fixed.

Weirdly enough I had no updates for today. I literally just typed this post, and boom, new Steam update. So now I will troubleshoot post this update and see if maybe that was my issue.

reinstall script usually fixes everything.

Hard resets can corrupt decky.

One of your plugins might have broken and needs uninstalling manually

OR

By updating steamOS you may have an outdated version and need to wait a few days to update

Redownload Decky but with the previous version that should do the fix.

Temporary fix is to run Decky installer and reinstall with the prerelease branch, that being said it should be fixed soon for stable hopefully

The stable branch is broken for me and doesn't show up. I tried the beta branch and it's so far worked fine

The only issue I'm having is that tabmaster hasn't worked for me for at least a month, maybe two.

I ended up disabling it and have just occasionally reactivated it and reinstalled it to see if the error keeps popping up.

1 (/2) months waiting for an update. It's making me think that another plugin is causing a conflict rather than it being tabmaster itself.

Install the pre release using ujust setup-decky in the console
