Budget-Friendly Cat Food & Litter Guide for U.S. Rescuers, Colony Caretakers & Multi-Cat Households

Hi US-based Superheroes! 😺

Whether you’re caring for a colony, suddenly drowning in “just one more stray,” running a rural rescue with no resources, or supporting dozens of hungry mouths on your own paycheck, you’re doing rescue work, even if no one’s calling it that.

Be very proud of yourselves 😇❤️

This post collects field-tested, and affordable food & litter options used by frontline rescuers, shelters, and long-term colony caretakers across the U.S. Everything here balances:

  • Cost
  • Availability
  • Adequate nutrition
  • Practicality for large numbers of cats

Please see Rule 6! Nothing here replaces veterinary care or individualized nutrition advice. But it will keep your cuties healthy enough on a tight budget.

This guide is meant for already-healthy adult cats in multi-cat or colony settings. Cats with special medical needs (CKD, urinary issues, allergies, GI disease) may need individualized diets - you already know that’s a vet conversation.

Note: wet food and hydration always improve urinary health, regardless of brand.

BEST BUDGET DRY FOODS

These are commonly used by shelters, colony feeders, & long-term rescuers. They are NOT “perfect,” but they are safe, nutritionally adequate, palatable, & cost-efficient.

😺Special Kitty Complete (Walmart)

One of the lowest costs per pound nationwide. Rescue favorite for rural areas.

Look specifically for “Complete” - not the cheapest “Outdoor” blend

😺 4Health (Tractor Supply)

Mid-range nutrition for lower-range cost & frequently better value than Purina One

Good for rural feeders without Walmart access.

😺Purina Kit & Kaboodle

Not high-end but widely used for stable colony maintenance; cats tend to keep weight on & price is often lower than e.g. Cat Chow

😺 Store brands (Walmart Heartland Farms, etc.)

Stick to formulas where the first ingredient is poultry or meat, not corn! Good fallback during shortages

Bottom line:

If you can only choose one for the balance of cost + quality:

😺4Health

If you need the absolute cheapest stable option:

😺Special Kitty Complete

HOW TO BOOST NUTRITION ON A TIGHT BUDGET

A lot of rescuers can’t afford fully high-end food. These small upgrades make a difference:

😺 Mix 20–30% of a higher-protein kibble

E.g: Purina One Indoor, Purina One Healthy Kitten, or Iams ProActive Health. Even a small percentage improves amino acids and healthy fats.

Add cheap, high-value proteins 2-3× per week

😺 Eggs (cooked / scrambled)

😺 Chicken hearts/gizzards (usually $1.50–$2.50/lb)

😺 Cooked unseasoned chicken scraps

😺 Canned mackerel (better & cheaper than tuna)

😺 Use wet food as a topper, not a full meal

Split 1 can among 4-6 cats to improve hydration & palatability.

Best budget picks:

😺Friskies Pate

😺Special Kitty Pate

Keep diet consistent; frequent switching = unhappy GI systems. And no one needs avoidable vet bills!

BEST BUDGET LITTER OPTIONS

😺Pine Pellets (Tractor Supply / Rural King / Feed Stores)

😺“Horse Stall Pellets” = the SAME material as Feline Pine. Usually $5–7 for 40 lbs with low dust, excellent odor control, biodegradable. Great for multi-cat setups!

😺 Walmart Special Kitty Clumping

Affordable, consistent, dustier but budget-friendly

😺 Aldi Heart to Tail Clumping

Surprisingly good clumping; often cheaper than Walmart

For picky cats: switch gradually. A mix of clumping litter + pellets helps picky cats adjust!

WHERE RESCUERS CAN GET FREE OR DISCOUNTED PET FOOD

Human food banks also distribute pet food. Ask directly - they rarely advertise it.

Sources to check:

😺Local food pantries

😺Salvation Army locations

😺County social services

😺Petco Love partners

😺PetSmart Charities partner rescues

😺Humane Society branches

😺Community action agencies

😺Farm store “broken bag” policies

Tractor Supply, Rural King, and feed stores often discount:

😺Torn bags of kibble

😺Pine pellets

😺Chicken feed (can be used very sparingly for strays as emergency nutrition)

Just ask an employee - discounts aren’t posted!

IMPORTANT HEALTH NOTE (Vet-Safe Disclaimer)

To keep this post accurate:

All foods listed meet AAFCO minimum nutrient guidelines for adult cats.

“Budget” foods do not mean "unsafe". Many rescues/shelters rely on them.

😇 For Anyone Feeling Guilty:

If you’re feeding a colony, running a home rescue, or caring for dumped cats: you are already doing far more than most people ever will.

Rescue work is “do the best you can with what you have” not “purchase the most expensive brand available.”

Cats who:

😺Are spayed/neutered a.k.a Priority #1

😺 Are fed daily

😺Have shelter

😺Have clean water

…are living longer, safer, healthier lives than they ever would on the street - no matter what kibble you use. It's you making the difference. Not the kibble bag or tinned can! 😇😇😇

Injured/Sick Cat (Location) This is what floods are doing to innocent lives. 💔 Rescued from a heavily flooded area with open wounds infested with maggots and badly injured paws. He was left behind to suffer but now he’s safe with us. ❤️‍🩹 Please pray for this innocent soul. 🙏

How could anyone leave this innocent soul to suffer like this? 💔
This is what is happening to innocent animals because of the devastating floods. We rescued this poor boy from an area that was heavily flooded, where he had been left completely helpless.
He was severely injured and suffering from open wounds infested with maggots. His tiny paws were badly burned and damaged, and he was in unimaginable pain. 💔
The henna markings on his head and paws make us wonder if he was once someone’s beloved pet. Someone may have loved him once… but when the floods came and he needed help the most, he was left behind.
Thankfully, he is rescued and safe with us now. ❤️‍🩹
But his fight is far from over. He needs intensive treatment, wound care, and a lot of time to heal.
This is the reality of what animals are facing in the flood-affected areas. Please don’t look away. 🙏💔

Every time I rescue a electrical shock victim, I feel ashamed in front of you all. 💔 What kind of electrical system do we have in our country that is putting cats, birds, and even humans at risk?
So many lives are being lost because of unsafe electrical infrastructure, yet this issue is barely spoken about.
This is a serious issue that desperately needs attention and action. But sadly, no one seems to be doing anything about it. 💔

Thank you to our community! However, we are sitting at $330 raised out of $1,500, leaving us with $1,170 left to cover our outstanding emergency vet expenses. Every single treatment relies on keeping our vet accounts open—when bills go unpaid, our ability to take in the next critical case is put on pause.

We are pushing hard to clear this accumulated balance so we can keep saving lives without interruption. We tried reaching out to local politicians for help, but none of them responded. Right now, our community truly is our only lifeline. Running a rescue means taking on the tough medical cases others walk away from, but our clinic cannot keep stretching their resources while our debt remains.

You don't need to make a huge donation to help. If just 117 supporters give $10 (or 58 give $20), our clinic balance is completely wiped out. That means zero debt holding back emergency care for the next animal who needs us.

I finally managed to rescue this terrified stray after a very difficult attempt. I don’t have proper trapping equipment, and he was extremely scared and kept trying to escape.

He is now safe with me, but he is very sick. He has severe diarrhea, severe dehydration, nasal discharge, and appears to be suffering from nutritional deficiencies. He is also extremely stressed and frightened.

He urgently needs a veterinary examination and treatment. Getting him to the vet will be difficult because of how terrified he is, but I will do everything I can for him.

Adoption Help (Location) 💔 15-WEEK-OLD BONDED SISTERS ARE AT RISK OF A SHELTER ..THEY NEED A HOME TOGETHER! 💔LOCATION📍:CHARLOTTE,NC,USA

💔 POSTING AGAIN — DAISY & MAISY ARE AT SERIOUS RISK OF GOING TO A SHELTER. PLEASE HELP KEEP THESE SISTERS TOGETHER. 💔

Pet finder link: https://www.petfinder.com/cat/daisey-and-maisey-428638f8-777c-4641-a3e7-ac34a42bc9c4/nc/charlotte/sunkissed-acres-rescue-nc1270/details/

I got a heartbreaking message from my rescue today.

She told me that she may have to send 8 kitties to a shelter because she has no resources, no available foster homes, and no other rescues able to take them. She was so sad and heartbroken. Our rescue partner has already had to send a few kitties to shelters. 💔 Daisy & Maisy are among the kitties at the MOST risk of being sent to a shelter.

Our rescue is drowning right now. Every foster is already caring for 10+ cats (I am fostering 14), and we are struggling with both space and resources. Other rescues are overwhelmed and full too.

We fosters are helping the rescue as much as possible, but we have limitations now. This is an amazing rescue..one of the best I have ever seen..and I never want to see it shut down. ❤️

And honestly, that’s what breaks my heart the most. 💔 We don’t know what their future would look like in a shelter. If they are adopted from there, we may never know who took them home or where they end up. And if they are returned someday, how would we even know or be able to bring them back?
Our rescue is struggling right now, but I truly believe this is only a difficult chapter, not the end of their story. I just want these babies to have a safe, loving home where we know they are loved and protected forever.

When Daisy & Maisy were only 4 weeks old, their little world was turned upside down. They were found abandoned in storm drains behind a mall..tiny, scared, and alone without their mama. 💔

For two long days, they cried in that frightening place, waiting for someone to hear them. When we learned about them, we knew we couldn’t leave them behind.

Their rescue was an emotional roller coaster. As heavy rain started pouring down, our hearts sank. We searched and called for them, terrified that we had lost them. We felt helpless… until we heard a tiny, weak cry through the rain.

That little voice gave us hope. We searched tirelessly, and finally, they were both safe. 🥹🐾

These little girls had already experienced fear and uncertainty at such a young age. But through everything, they had each other. They became each other’s comfort, strength, and family. ❤️

Now, at 15 weeks old, Daisy & Maisy have blossomed into playful, sweet, loving kittens. Their bond is truly beautiful, and they need a forever home TOGETHER.

We never want to separate them. They survived their hardest days together, and they deserve to spend their happiest days together too. 💔

Please help us find the family who will open their hearts and home to BOTH of these sisters.

Please support us by adopting or sharing. We desperately want Maisy & Daisy to go from their foster home straight into a loving forever home..not a shelter. ❤️

They survived being abandoned once. Please don’t let them face another uncertain future.

They lost their mama’s protection far too soon… but they never lost each other.🥲

Please adopt or share. Let’s get these sisters from their foster home straight into a loving forever home..not a shelter. 🙏❤️

I found a stray cat in Maryland. It's very skinny but really friendly. I would like to take it to the vet or shelter, but I've never done this before. I gave it food and water, which explains why it probably followed me home lol. I have an elderly dog, and this cat definitely has fleas. Any recommendations??

So it’s been like a month since my last post and I just wanted to update if anyone was interested. They are adapting to my home! I eventually got them to sit with me in the front lawn!! But he’s still like super skittish so I don’t want to push it. And thankfully I have an old boy cat that loves him and they play around lot so I am hoping that’s the reason he’s sticking around.

PS 😭 I FOUND ANOTHER CAT! luckily my coworker wanted one and her aunt is a veterinary so she got him lickty spilt. That one was so affectionate while my little puff ball is as feral as a hog lol 😂

I Found a Cat (Location) What to do for stray cat while I’m traveling?

Post image
215 Upvotes

Hi community! First time posting here. About a month or two ago, a stray kitty found its way into my neighborhood. They have a clipped ear which signals in my state that they have been fixed. I have a cat of my own, so I started leaving out cat food and water daily. Kitty comes around every day, several times a day, but is very very skittish when I try to get near so I’ve been monitoring and admiring from afar. Ideally I would like to try to trap and adopt if the kitty wants, but currently it seems to prefer the outdoors.
I have a 3 week trip coming up in two weeks though. My question is for any recommendations or things I should do while I am gone to ensure they will be safe and fed?

I Found a Cat (Location) Myrtle beach kitty too close to the highway

Post image

I'm on mobile so please forgive the formatting. I am seeking help for this little kitty that's too close to the highway. It is in south Carolina, myrtle beach, Horry County. It is living in the bushes between the CVS, the cicis, and a big highway. The easiest access to the little guy is from the cicis parking lot. (3553 Northgate Dr, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588). The kitty is on the younger side and seems extremely playful and happy. But it is reasonably scared. It was rolling around and showing it's belly to me while I tried to call it over. And it approached multiple times but unfortunately I was army crawling through the dirt mud and leaves and could get a angle to grab the kitty. I didn't have any trapping equipment as I just was going to eat at cicis. If you meow at it. It will meow back and approach. It seems curious and friendly. No hissing or aggressive stances. But is obviously very very scared. No obvious signs of any desiese. It was not afraid to hop up onto the medium to the highway where I retreated and got in my car to cry for the poor thing. I live somewhat nearby. But it's about a 45 minute drive. I can't make the trip to gain trust so I can grab it, and I can't set a trap as I don't have one. I cannot stress how sweet this kitty is. I will absolutely take it if anyone can catch it and get it spayed/neutered and find it a home.

Again. The kitty is not fully feral it seems. It is friendly and vocal. It will meow back to you if you meow at it. (did this for several hours untill the sun went down)

It is in danger. The bushy area it lives in is surrounded by roads and a high way. It is not fully afraid of cars as I discovered the kitty first by it running out from under my car when I unlocked it. I'm worried it will get hit.t

The cat must be there frequently. As someone seems to leave cat food there. But it seemed not touched much, and swarming with ants. I think it was placed too far away from the kitty's bush area. It was wet food.

It will approach if you are patient. I find meowing back and doing the whole slow blink looking away every now and then seemed to bring the best results.

If you plan to work your way into the bush. I'd recommend getting ready to get muddy.

It won't run super far if you spook it. It won't sprint away. It'll only crawl a little deeper into the bush. I was there from around 7:40 pm to 8:35 pm.

This catch will be more of a terrain issue rather then a tempermant issue.

Please. If you live in myrtle beach. Check up on this poor thing!

Success! I told a stray kitten to wait while I ran to the shop. It waited.

I woke up around eleven that Sunday because I'd forgotten to close the curtains the night before, and the sun was sitting right on my face. Not gently. The kind of light that gets under your eyelids and stays there.

I lay still for a while and listened. Somebody downstairs was frying onions already. That smell comes up through the floorboards in my building like it pays rent. Eleven in the morning and onions. I've stopped asking.

I made tea. I remember the water going in, the steam bending toward the window. Then I got distracted looking for my keys and by the time I came back it had gone cold in the glass. It stayed there on the table all day. Still there when I got home, actually, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

I got dressed without thinking about it. Navy jeans, the pair with the knee gone through, one of those things where you keep wearing them because the hole is exactly where your knee bends and it feels like the trousers have given up arguing with you.

Grey sweatshirt, the collar stretched out wide from being pulled over my head too fast too many times. Thin black jacket over it, because the air had that edge it gets in early spring by the water. And the white trainers with the yellowed edges. I've had them long enough that the white is more of a suggestion now.

No plan. That's the honest part. I wasn't going anywhere. I just wanted to be outside of my own rooms for an hour.

The bakery on the corner had simit still warm, which almost never happens that late in the morning. The guy handed it over in a half sheet of paper, twisted at the bottom, and the sesame came off on my fingers immediately.

I ate half of it walking. You know how that goes — you don't decide to eat it, you just find yourself holding less of it than before. The other half I wrapped back up in the paper and put in my bag. I was full. I thought maybe later.

That half simit is going to matter in about twenty minutes, so keep it in mind.

The park runs along the water. Long strip of grass, a path, benches facing out, and then the sea just sitting there doing its thing.

Most of the benches were taken. Sunday. Families, couples, that one guy who always seems to be on the phone pacing back and forth. But the second-to-last bench was empty, so I took it. The wood was still a little damp from the morning dew, and I felt it come through the seat of my jeans about four seconds after sitting down. Not enough to get up over. Just enough to notice.

There was a kid two benches down with a red balloon, holding the string with both hands like it was going to try something.

An old man was throwing bread to the pigeons near the path. Small pieces, very deliberate, tearing each bit before he threw it. The pigeons had completely lost their minds and he seemed calm about it.

A ferry went past. You could hear it before you could really see it properly — that low engine sound over the water. Gulls behind it in a loose line, the way they always are, like the boat owes them something.

I sat there and didn't do anything for maybe ten minutes. That's rarer than it sounds. And then something touched my shoe.

I looked down and there was a cat.

Very small. Grey and white mixed together, no clean pattern to it, just messy — like someone had shaken the two colours in a jar. The fur was going in about four directions at once. That specific scruffy look kittens have when they haven't quite figured out the grooming thing yet. Patches sticking up on the shoulders. A bit of crust at the corner of one eye.

The left ear was smaller than the right one. Noticeably. And it sat at a slight angle, tipped a little off true, so the whole face looked like it was permanently asking a question.

It had put one paw on the toe of my trainer. Just the one paw. And it was looking straight up at me.

I didn't move. I've learned that with street cats — if you move first, that's the end of the conversation.

So it did the moving. It walked a full circle around my ankles, pressed its side against my shin on the way past, then went behind the bench, and I heard it scuffling around back there in the leaves. Then nothing. Then it came out the other side and sat down about a metre away, facing me, tail wrapped around its front feet.

And then it just tipped over. No warning. Fell onto its side on the path like the batteries came out. Rolled onto its back, all four legs in the air, and lay there in the dirt looking at me upside down.

I actually laughed out loud. The old man with the bread turned around.

It got up, shook itself, and attacked a leaf.

Genuinely attacked it. Went low, ears back, that ridiculous sideways hop, both front paws down on this dry leaf. Killed it thoroughly. Then looked up at me like I was supposed to be impressed.

I was. I clapped, quietly, and it took that as encouragement and did the whole thing again with a different leaf. Then it got too enthusiastic and skidded on the damp path and ended up in a small heap against the leg of the bench.

It sat there for a second. Then it started licking its own shoulder very fast, like nothing had happened, like we'd both agreed to move on.

Then it came back and sat in front of me and did the thing that got me.

It didn't meow. It opened its mouth to meow and no sound came out. Just the shape of it. Twice.

And it kept looking at my bag.

So I got the simit out. Unwrapped the paper, tore off a piece — the soft inside part, not the crust — and held it down low so it wouldn't have to come far.

It came over. Put its nose right against the bread. Sniffed it properly, thoroughly, the way they do, whiskers moving. Took its time about it.

Then it lifted its head and looked at me. And didn't eat it.

I sat there holding a piece of simit in the air like an idiot.

I tried again, closer. Same thing. Nose, sniff, look up at me. Nothing. It wasn't scared of it, it wasn't uninterested in me — it just wasn't going to eat bread.

And it was so small. That's what got under my ribs a bit. It was maybe two and a half months old, if that. Small enough that you could see its shoulder blades move separately when it walked. Something that size doesn't need bread. It needs actual food, and it needs it fairly regularly, and clearly nobody had been handling that part.

I wrapped the simit back up. Put it in my bag. Sat there thinking.

There's a market at the exit of the park. Red sign, other side of the road, maybe a hundred and fifty metres from where I was sitting. I could see the corner of the sign from the bench.

So I stood up. And the cat stood up too, immediately, and took two steps after me.

I crouched back down. I said, out loud, in a normal voice, like it was a reasonable thing to say to a two-month-old animal — "you wait here."

It sat down. I don't want to make that sound like more than it was. Cats sit down. But it sat down, and it looked at me, and the little bent ear did its thing, and I said it again. "Wait here."

Then I went. Fast. Faster than I'd meant to.

I don't know why I was hurrying. Nothing was on fire. But I crossed the road badly, between cars, and the automatic doors of the market did that slow thing they do where they open at exactly half the speed you need.

Wet food first. There was a whole shelf. Kitten, two to twelve months — I stood there reading the small print on the back like it was a contract, which, fine, maybe it was. I took two of those. Then a small bag of dry food, the smallest one they had, because I genuinely did not know what I was doing yet.

Half a litre of water. And then, at the front by the till, a little plastic tub. The kind you'd put olives in. Two of those would have been smarter but I only took one.

The queue was one person long and that one person was an elderly lady counting coins.

She was counting them out of a small cloth purse onto the rubber mat, one at a time, and every so often she'd lose track and start again. The cashier was completely unbothered. I stood there with two tins of kitten food, a bag of dry, a bottle of water and a plastic tub, watching the tiny pile of coins grow, and I could feel myself doing that thing where you shift your weight from one foot to the other.

And the whole time I was thinking: it's not going to be there. Obviously it's not going to be there. It's a street cat. Something will have gone past, a dog, a kid, another cat, and it'll have gone into the bushes and that's it. That's how this ends. I'll walk back with a bag of cat food and sit on a damp bench on my own.

She got there. She paid. She said something kind to the cashier that I didn't catch.

I came out of the market and crossed back over and walked into the park with the bag banging against my leg.

I could see the bench from a long way off. Second-to-last one. The kid with the red balloon had gone. The old man was still there, out of bread now, just standing.

And there, on the path, in exactly the spot where I'd left it — not a step to the left, not a step to the right — the cat was sitting.

Completely still. Front paws together. Tail curled around them. Facing the direction I'd walked off in. Like a small badly-made statue somebody had left out in the weather.

It hadn't moved. It had actually waited.

I stopped about five metres away, because I needed a second.

The sun had moved while I was in the market. It was coming across the water now at that lower angle, and it was hitting the cat from behind, and you could see every bit of that messy fur lit up at the edges. The small ear. The crooked set of it.

It saw me. It didn't run over. It just opened its mouth again, that silent one, no sound, and waited for me to close the distance.

I had two tins of food in a plastic bag, a tub meant for olives, half a litre of water, and absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do with the animal sitting in front of me.

She's fine, by the way. I'm telling you now so nobody has to

read this worrying about how it ends.

*I'm the developer of a small pet medication app, but this post isn't about

that — it's just what happened on Sunday. Part 2 tomorrow if anyone wants it.*

I Found a Cat (Location) Should I release her ?

Hello,

Background context : I ran into a stray that is super friendly and looked like she was nursing kittens around my home. I provided food and water but she seems to not want to leave my window the entire day. I follow protocol from my vet regarding letting her go back to her kittens and she never left. I took her to the vet and got all the treatment and checked if she was microchipped. I have a spay scheduled for later in September as that is the earliest available.

I am holding onto her since the shelter in surrounding counties and in my county refuse to take anymore strays. I have contacted all the rescues and animal control. I am stumped because I feel as she wants to be back outside. I feel guilty keeping her in. She seems very curious and not afraid of anything but also is super loving and wants affection. She will stare out the window and I feel as I am taking her away from her probably wanting to be back outside.

Adoption Help (Location) Broken fang?

I was looking at my stray cats photos and day dreaming about bringing her inside when I noticed one of her bottom fangs is missing.

She eats dry food and wet food. Seems normal other than that missing tooth. She has been a stray for 5 years according to my neighbor so who knows when it happened.

How worried should I be about that tooth? Thank you guys.

Success! Cleveland has officially been living the indoor life for over a year!

Last year we had a stray cat show up and live under our trashcans for a while. I started feeding him because he looked in pretty bad shape. We had already been talking about adopting another cat, so we decided to give him a chance!

He has thrived with the indoor lifestyle! He has FIV so he’s had a lot of teeth removed, but he has otherwise adjusted really well and is healthy! He loves to watch tv, play with his pickle toy, and snuggle in soft blankets.

Thank you r/straycats for being here the whole way!

this is my stray cat, emmy. she chose our garden as her home about a year ago, and we regularly leave food and water for her now. she is kind of apart of our family, from a distance.

i’m not sure how old she is, i’ve never taken her to a vet. she seems to have no interest in becoming an inside cat, possibly because i have always had a dog, so we let her just live in our garden. we regularly shoo other cats away and i even bought a little cat tent for her to sleep in, but she never used it.

a couple of days ago, she showed up to eat. it was hard not to notice that another cat had scratched her up badly (not captured in the photos). i am not sure what to do. **should i take her to the vet? would that be traumatising for a grown stray? can i try any home remedies? shall i supplement her food with anything to make her heal faster?**

i also would love to find her a loving home if anybody would like a kind and independent, older cat. its heartbreaking to see her scratched up by the other strays in the community. i dont think she knows her name, so she can be renamed if necessary. i named her emmy (from emerald) because of her beautiful, bright green eyes. they were all i could see when she first appeared in my garden one night about a year ago.

Success! Stray/Semiferal in recover need tips!

hi there, over the weekend I was finally able to get one of the stray/Semiferal I take care of into the vet for a really severe tooth infection. He had to get some teeth taken out and will need to be in recovery inside for at least a month said the vet. He is currently decompressing in my pretty spacious bathroom (we also have 2 cats and want to keep them seperate to ensure stress is low and nothing is possibly transmitted) but I was wondering if anyone had any tips to help keep him sane for the next few weeks. He’s very sweet I just feel bad and don’t want him too bored inside. Any tips are appreciated!

Found this very malnourished cat near my locality no idea how old she is I’m guessing around 1-1.5 months. I don’t think she was well fed by the mother and left her

Help me with what to feed, how many times a day and all the things that I should do I’m a first time cat parent. I tried feeding wet kitten food mixed with water through a syringe rn i feed her three times a day morning eve and night but I don’t know if that’s enough

Help me what to do.

Would like to get suggestions and help
