Border Collies are often cited as the most intelligent breed. I saw an episode of (I think?) 20/20 where a dog had like 200 toys and could bring you each one by name or even by a characteristic of the toy. This probably makes it about as smart as a 6 year old

And this is absolutely a great use of that intelligence. Many dogs were bred for certain traits and now have no use for them in this society, this leads to them feeling useless and depressed. An engaged dog is a happy dog!

Border collies are known for their tight curled tails, especially when they're excited. Also, sometimes their tails are (ugh) docked.
