Anyone have experience using a touchscreen for Studio One?

I've been thinking about getting a Windows tablet to work on music on the go. Curious if anyone has experience using a touchscreen and if you ran into any tasks that were made harder or easier by it.

I'm still on version 6. With my current pc everything is muscle memory and I don't even have to think about anything. I've also tried Koala, MPC One, SP404 MK2 and a few other things I can't remember right now but S1 just works perfectly for how I do things so I'm trying to stick with that.

Yes. Not in a tablet though. Currently running on a Windows desktop with 3 touchscreens. Also use my windows laptop (touch screen also ) occasionally for remote sessions.

The things I do the most is zooming in and out, copy-and-pasting samples, chopping those samples in the arrangement window and moving them around and transposing them. Are those things fairly simple to do?

Yes, I can do all those tasks on the touch screen. Pinching and zooming is the easiest. Things like cutting samples. It's sometimes finicky to get the precise split points. If that case, I'll just fall back to using the mouse.

Oh one last question. What about adjusting track volume and vst settings/knobs/etc?

Track volume ,pan, sends are all settable. I'm not sure about all plugins/vsts. It really comes down to how the programmers handle input. I don't recall having any issues, but if I did I probably just used my mouse.

Studio One has had native multi-touch support from version 3. I made several game scores on a Surface running Studio One 6 on Windows 10 back in 2023.

I use a dual touchscreen plus a 65” non touch. I use a combo of mouse and touch.
I love that it has been around for a long time in S1.

I use my laptop in tablet mode sometimes, some things are finicky as someone mentioned and if possible get a mouse l. However for me the strength lies in adjust multiple faders and stuff like that also cutting up samples and playing them like you would on any controller with pads

Running the free on iPad if you have a mouse on the go is a breeze without takes a longer
