A stutterer fighting for Forest the Pup!

If you haven’t seen it yet, I created a post of a Paw Pateol concept character I have in mind, and her name is Forest! She is sort of a long-haired chihuahua with particular big and scruffy ears, white paws, a patch of white on her chest, maybe a white muzzle and dark green eyes! I already created some posts about her before, and you can go to my profile to check them out.

Her concept is that she is a female stutterer, I specifically made her female because there is a complete absence of female stutterers in media, and she is a wildlife conversationist and habitat specialist. She makes sure the woods stay free of human activity, healthy, and all the animals are doing ok, along with her two animal companions Chompers the Beaver and Kiwi the Budgie.

Her backstory is that as a pup in a shelter, she was bullied by all the other pups because of her stutter. They would mock when she stuttered on her name and constantly asked if she forgot it, and since she can’t verbally defend herself, it made her an easy target. The other pups who didn’t actively bully her avoided her instead because they thought it was “exhausting” to listen to her speak, telling her to spit it out, finish her sentences, or walk away all together. Overtime she started to feel like her voice held no value and that what she had to say didn’t matter, causing her to become withdrawn and self-conscious about her stutter. But it was until one night she snuck out just to go for a walk in the forest to get a break when she rescued a raccoon caught in a fox trap, and despite her stutter, it was her gentle and patient presence that calmed the raccoon down so she could free it, but then it gifted her a pebble before it scurried away, never to be seen again. This is where she learned that nature didn’t care about how she talked, it would wait all day and night for her to say what she had to say. She felt an unbreakable bond with the forest ever since.

I just think this is such a good concept and this would be such good representation for both kids and adults, especially girls and women!
