looks like you are loading for a deep sleep mission. the glycine and magnesium glycinate together is good call, they work nice for staying asleep not just falling. maybe skip the nytol sometimes, that diphenhydramine can leave you groggy next day. rest of stack is clean

u/SheepherderLatter224 10h ago

Also nytol is not good for long term use

1

u/Dapperwapper_M 2h ago

stopping this thanks

1

u/autism_and_lemonade 1h ago

avoid sedatives for sleep, particularly ones like diphenhydramine as they are especially harmful to the structure of sleep compared to something like valerian

I find that magnesium glycinate wakes me up in sleep semi often. Glycine helps prevent that?

2

u/BigLadder7018 5h ago

Me personally glycine wakes me up randomly at night, magnesium glycinate never did that for me but since I ran out of Mg I haven’t tried both together. Could anyone advise to if the combination would keep me from randomly waking up?

1

u/Dapperwapper_M 2h ago

my sleep has been a rollacosta recently hence stack, when I did mag and L glycine I slept throughout however vivid dreams that u put down to the L glycine

Diphenhydramine has links to dementia

1

u/Dapperwapper_M 2h ago

I actually dropped that last night

3

u/Emotional_Lab_2529 8h ago

Drop the Benadryl. You don’t want to be taking that every night. Drop the ashwaganda it’s a garbage compound and no one should take it. The rest are fine

1

u/Dapperwapper_M 2h ago

why the ashwagandha?

1

u/Emotional_Lab_2529 2h ago

It’s a garbage compound and you should only take it if you want apathy and anhedonia

1

u/Emotional_Lab_2529 2h ago

It also can cause dysregulated cortisol levels which can give you Cushing’s like symptoms

1

u/Emotional_Lab_2529 2h ago

Don’t try to modulate your cortisol using supplements. You can do serious harm to yourself. Do things like yoga and meditation instead

Def axe the diphenhydramine. Not only does it come with acute cognitive impacts but you’ll build a tolerance easily if you take it nightly. I went down the diphenhydramine and doxylamine rabbit holes about 20 years ago and they absolutely stink. Valerian or melatonin are much less problematic (tho the latter is not as punchy for inducing sleep ofc).

2

u/Dapperwapper_M 2h ago

tbh I found valerian more effective then Dip

-1

u/cake_toss 8h ago

valerian and melatonin are not less problematic. both should not be taken long term.

2

u/Emotional_Lab_2529 8h ago edited 7h ago

Melatonin is completely safe and fine to take long term. High dose melatonin, greater than 3mg, should not be taken long term

1

u/Intergalacktic 5h ago

Hasn't a study just confirmed a 90% increase in cardiovascular risk taking melatonin long term?

2

u/Emotional_Lab_2529 5h ago

No, there was a study that showed that people who typically need to take melatonin long term are at an increased risk of cardiovascular events and disease. It showed that poor sleep and lack of sleep increase cardiovascular risk not melatonin

2

u/Intergalacktic 5h ago

That makes more sense my mistake

1

u/Dapperwapper_M 2h ago

hard to get in uk

2

u/diddy_hastiny00 9h ago

Everything is good but Nytol ain’t gonna work long term. I use melatonin from Biovea they ship to UK. And it’s affordable too like 180 tablets for 25£

2

u/EljinRIP 8h ago

I would not use the nytol. The active ingredient is not so great for your brain.

2

u/MrNeverEverKnew 8h ago

DPH not good for daily use

2

u/Invictus1836 7h ago

Just get magic mind sleep which had all of those

2

u/halfcourtmike 6h ago

Triple calm magnesium by rhythm is in my top 5 supplements I’ve ever taken. 1 hour before bed and I’m out. Try it- may save you a few pills

1

u/Superb_Branch4749 10h ago

Lithium orotate?

1

u/Dapperwapper_M 2h ago

where to source?

1

u/stiffmcgee 9h ago

Drop the nytol. Theornate>glycinate if you supp w glycine imo

1

u/Even_Bet1372 8h ago

If you don't mind, What is the glycine for,?

2

u/HedgehogPast3191 5h ago

Glycine is a mild vasodilator which can lower body temp and allow you to sleep faster. Its also why people report mag glycinate helping them sleep faster (although its mostly placebo, magnesium doesnt permeate your body that quickly and glycine is not nearly as powerful as the effects people report).

2

u/Dapperwapper_M 2h ago

keeps me asleep but crazy dreams occasionally

1

u/Even_Bet1372 45m ago

I also encounter the same thing after taking magnesium glycinate, i feel asleep very early, before 9pm, get vivid dreams and wake up very tired and have negative thoughts the next day.

1

u/No_Display_4112 7h ago

This seems like a lot of overlap

1

u/Dapperwapper_M 2h ago

what to drop?

1

u/Jahya69 6h ago

I would delete a couple of those

1

u/Dapperwapper_M 2h ago

which ones?

1

u/Helpful-Opinion-3934 6h ago

Drop everything except for glycine and magnesium and maybe leave the tea for an unusual bout of insomnia

1

u/HedgehogPast3191 5h ago

Ditch the nytol, also its literally just benadryl. First gen antihistamines build tolerance quickly plus new research shows they may increase your likelihood of dementia with chronic long term use.

1

u/onverune 5h ago

Does bacopa work for you? What effects do you see?

1

u/Dapperwapper_M 1h ago

im not sure i see any, was recommend this so just started taking of anxiety and sleep.

1

u/Individual-Crew-6102 3h ago

The diphenhydramine won't do you any favors long term. It adds to brain fog and can have long-term effects. You may have to tinker with the rest as far as dosage and timing; some people don't do well on theanine at night, for example

1

u/Jamespm76 10h ago

Wow! Someone can’t sleep and wants to go into a coma

1

u/Chance_Taro_9986 8h ago

this guy sleeps

1

u/Massive_Shitlocker 7h ago

With L-theanine, you might think your sleeping but it wrecks deep sleep. It keeps you in alpha state. Use a sleep tracker and see for yourself. It's Reddit mumbo to take L-theanine at night.

2

u/Cleigne143 6h ago

I find that it helps with my overactive mind before sleep.

1

u/Massive_Shitlocker 4h ago

For me as well definitely.

1

u/FisherJoel 7h ago

What helps

1

u/HedgehogPast3191 5h ago

Alpha wave activity does not impair sleep. L theanine actually has research showing it improves sleep quality, not the other way around. Your anecdotal evidence is not relevant.

1

u/Massive_Shitlocker 4h ago

It's easy enough to test. Just try tracking it mate over a few weeks and check for yourself. 200mg a night before bed. No other supps. Do you get any measurable difference in your deep sleep vs not supplementing?

1

u/HedgehogPast3191 4h ago

Ive been taking it for over a year. Makes me fall asleep faster bc it calms my racing thoughts. No changes in sleep quality according to my watch, not that that matters. Watches are not accurate for sleep quality. If it was that easy they wouldnt hook you up to 15 wires when they do a sleep study.

1

u/Massive_Shitlocker 4h ago

I'm genuinely happy it's working for you. Anyone else willing to try this little experiment?

1

u/HedgehogPast3191 3h ago

There have been plenty of researchers who have conducted actual experiments. See this for example. The only concern as I have seen noted in a seperate literature review, is that some data is confounded with other substances such as magnesium glycinate; however, even pure monotherapy has shown beneficial results.

Waste of money, expensive piss. Eat well, wake earlier, invest in bigger softer bed and sheets, take magnesium, no screen time 2hr before sleep

3

u/Big-Strawberry5235 8h ago

Everyone is different

2

u/HedgehogPast3191 5h ago

The standard normie response to anyone with insomnia thinking that shit works for everyone.

1

u/ultra-ultra-fresh 4h ago

Did they say they have insomnia ??

1

u/HedgehogPast3191 4h ago

If theyre taking a billion sleep supps, its pretty fair to say they have insomnia. You dont spend a like $100/month if youre sleeping just fine.
