Hey all - not sure if I'm misremembering but there was a survival game where you're a robot who landed on island and your goal was to survive/build.

I can't think of it but playing the last caretaker reminds me of it... Any body have any clue what it can be?

but more into the survival aspect side, im not sure if it had base building but i remember it did have the typical axe/pickaxe tool to mine/gather stuff. The ui was also similar to riftbreaker.

I’ve been working on a survival game called Survivor 53, and I’d love to get some feedback from people who genuinely enjoy the survival genre.
It’s still a work in progress, but I’ve been putting a lot of time into making the world feel interesting to explore and giving players that feeling of “okay… how am I going to survive this?” 😅
I’m sharing it here because I’d really like to hear what you guys think — what looks fun, what doesn’t, and what you’d personally want to see in a survival game like this.

I have hundreds of hours in the original Stranded Deep, and it still remains one of my favorite survival games.

Mostly because it’s not overly complicated, but challenging enough to be fun, and promotes critical thinking along with exploration.

So, hearing that North Beach Games, known for The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, has announced Stranded Deep 2? Well, let’s just say I’m ready for round two!

What are your thoughts on the sequel so far?

We just released the INTERZONE demo on Steam for the PVE Fest.

INTERZONE is a dark top down survival sandbox set in a sealed off territory where something went very wrong. You’re sent into the zone as expendable personnel, with orders arriving through artillery fired capsules known as Shell Orders.

Basically, you were dragged away from home because you were of military age and sent somewhere you never thought could exist. Now you have two choices: survive, or disappear into the Interzone.

Explore abandoned buildings, military zones, forests and contaminated areas. Scavenge for food, water, weapons and ammo, deal with radiation and anomalies, fight infected and hostile survivors, craft what you need and try to make it through the next day.

It’s basically S.T.A.L.K.E.R. + Project Zomboid + Fallout 3, with survival, exploration, looting, factions, anomalies and a bunch of unanswered questions.

The demo is out now for Steam PVE Fest.

I've been searching up and down for this and I admit I can get pretty particular but I need help:

The particulars of Thea's crafting that I'm hoping to find more of is basically this: As you craft your gear and build your buildings, their traits and bonuses are affected by the materials used. Such as, using Shadow Bones to build a school (the game is also mildly mad, don't worry about it) produces a different outcome than using Dragon Bones, or Mithril, or Elven Wood. The damage types and extra effects of your weapons are affected. It is not dissimilar to the unit production in Endless Legends, but more detailed. Fantasy, survival and colony sim elements would be preferred but I'm willing to cast my net wide. I'm basically looking for This Game But More. I've tried using Nodal and it gave me Dead in Vinland which I'm looking at (month's gotta turn over before I can do anything about it), but I'm hoping for more.

Games I've seen recommended elsewhere but which doesn't scratch the itch is factory builders (Factorio, Satisfactory, those ones). The vibe isn't the same and what I'm looking for is scavenging and making the most of the situation ahead of you, not carefully planning out your planet-wide facility.

Another is zombie survivors. The zombie apocalypse is just not really my jam and even the very detailed ones in my experience has to simplify on the detail I care about (like, they'll be exquisitely detailed in what items you can use to make a knife using intricate tag systems, but then the knife is just a knife, for example).

Working on a game about 12 teenagers who end up stranded on an unknown island after some kind of disaster. None of them remember what happened or how they got there — they just have to survive.

The main thing I'm excited about: enemies don't just respawn randomly. Each creature remembers where it ran into someone and comes back for them specifically. They also fight each other over territory sometimes — while a troll and an ogre are busy with each other, that's your window to get stuff done.

Instead of dying outright, characters can lose limbs in a fight and keep going. If they weren't fully eaten there's even a chance to save them.

World generation is RimWorld-style (pick a spot on the map, biome decides what enemies you'll run into), building is block-by-block like Rust/ARK, and enemies can actually wreck your walls.

Hey, so we have the steam event, and I would like to know if you guys have some hidden gem games.

Not the usual suspects, that are in every comment section, like Valheim and Enshrouded and so on.

I as many of you played all these, but there are survival games comming out every day, so maybe some of you have some good ones, that went under the radar for all this time.

About the game:
Brave the Arctic, where one dead engine can end the whole run. Arctic Drive is a 1–4 player co-op survival sim set in a procedurally generated winter wilderness, a world where you scavenge fuel and supplies, repair your rig, and haul it all to your base. Stay warm, stay moving, stay together.

I know how it looks, the games are quite different, but that’s exactly what’s making this hard for me. I want to play a decent survival game; I’m new to the genre, but I enjoy base-building and RPGs. I’ve played a lot of MMOs and recently I've tried Once Human, which has online servers and a survival-horror vibe, it was fun, but the gameplay and some progression mechanics put me off. So, I’ve been looking for alternatives. These two appealed to me the most aesthetically, which is a huge factor for me, but I can't decide between them. Dune has that MMO/active community aspect that really draws me in, the idea of ​​a survival game with MMORPG elements and base-building is very appealing. On the other hand, Enshrouded looks like a joy to explore, and from what I hear, it has a fantastic base-building system. However, it’s single-player or co-op. I’d likely play solo, which makes me wonder if I’d really get as hooked on it as I would an online game like Dune.

The main hook is the bond between the main character and their dog. You can play as both, switching perspectives whenever you want.

I'm currently working on the dog movement, so there isn't any of it here, but just wanted to get some feedback on the environment so far. sometimes its a blast to take a break from programming and chip away at the environment.

The game is a heavy WIP, especially the sound design.

I'm trying to find out how close I can get. Stalker Gamma is such a great game and mod overhaul, so if I could find something similar that I could play with friends I'd be so happy.

Survival, guns, customization, bandits, anomalies, monsters, all of it. I would love if it had building and raid defense mechanics too. No PVP or public servers though. Just not fun for me.

I have been hard at work on the latest release of the Bushcraft Survival Demo. These changes are rolled into the main game as well, which will launch later this year.

I'm just in time for PvE Survival Crafting Fest so I really hope to bring some new players into the game as well as give old players a chance to try it again.

To list a few updates:

• A completely new (army green) UI design
• Better controller and Steam Deck support
• A cleaner tutorial system
• Reworked interaction system
• Survival mode game loop reconfigured, and helicopter dropoff is now implemented!
• Moose wander around the forest - don't encroach their territory too much or they will charge!

The Steam PvE Survival Crafting Fest starts today, and since my gf & I are always looking for new indie survival games to play, we'd love to hear about any cool new/upcoming games worth checking out.

Here are a few I'm following that have updates for the fest:

• Red Rust Pioneers - As someone who played a ton of Oregon Trail growing up, I'm very excited for this one. They did a playtest earlier this summer and it's now a public demo.
• Primal Survival - Been following this one for a while. Really cool premise for a prehistoric survival game, & they'll have a new demo out this week.
• Wildsite - Being able to pack up and move your base is such a nice QoL feature. They recently added co-op to their demo.
• Millennium Slumber - We loved Don't Starve Together, so we're pretty stoked to try this one. They have a new demo out for the fest too.
• OddFauna - Really unique/cute art style, and they have a new update out today with a new biome.

Our game Seaforge is participating too, though we don't have a demo ready yet (working on it!) So I'm hoping to find some more survival games to wishlist and demos to try out this week.

Any others you're excited for? Bonus points for co-op!
