Is it fixed?
Hi everyone! I picked up a game I'd started on the day the relaunched version came out. I remembered one of the reasons why I had stopped playing. Some settlers are starving even though there’s plenty of food everywhere. They even walk right past the stockpiles. If I start a new game, will this problem come back, or has it been fixed for new games?

The Dev team is going to release an entire rework of the Food system this September 2026, which changes the food system in such a way that it won't be dependent on programming each individual Colonist needing to decide to eat so they don't starve.
So, in theory, your issue should be fixed once that update drops. But we won't know for sure until it releases and the community plays it.

You might already know this but it’s unclear from your post:
Your settlers don’t directly eat the food units from stockpiles. Instead, your bots take it to a service building like a grocery store. Then, your settler has to decide to visit the grocery store while it’s being worked by other settlers AND isn’t already at full capacity for them to actually “eat.”
So even if you have a grocery store, it needs to be worked enough shifts to cover everyone trying to use its services.
Supposedly they are changing the way services work, but you’ll still need a grocery store. Colonists will never just grab food right off the stockpile.
