My type is kind, respect, sensible, and not on anything stronger than weed. To be honest I do like masc guys but it's more like I know I like pasta but try a new food and like it. So I've loved guys who were more feminine.

Whats it like navigating dating as a trans man that dates other men?

My experience has been quite difficult. Pre COVID it was next to impossible to find someone who liked me. But as I've aged it has gotten easier somewhat. I'll tell you now that dating being trans isn't as doom and gloom as the Internet makes it seem. Many of my friends who are gay trans guys outright have polycules. Some are even married.

My problem pre COVID was that I had lower standards and no one likes a guy without a backbone. Since COVID it's been easier. I'm around more people who I actually like and they love me.

I am extremely picky but it's because I have this mindset that I can wait for exactly what I want. For example I won't buy the cheap cakes sold at the local dollar store because if I'm spending my money I want it to be worth it. If I'm spending my time and energy with a dude I better really like him. If not I can wait for the next person.

big beardy masculine bears. big men, big personalities, full of life. honest, faithful, vibrant, wears his heart on his sleeve, witty, brave, willing to try new things... guys who like life. i also like much the same thing from women, big loud vivid ladies, but i prefer men.

Other poc transmascs. It gets rid of a lot of the need for explaining stuff like binding, testosterone talk, not identifying as a woman but being brought up like so, etc. but also the experience of being a person of colour as well as being transmasc. My ex was Nigerian & we had similar experiences in feeling like trans poc are seemingly so scarce irl etc. but personality wise I love like mature but nerdy/geeky people😍😍😍😍😍😍 my type has to be kind of dorky but also a huge sex appeal idk. Like just be SEXY. That’s not even a looks thing to me it’s a vibe. Also taller than me which is 5’2” & I personally like muscled people but I like having to grab like their stomach if we are cuddling. Is this tmi?? Idk. Also I like long hair I like wolfcuts I like long locs I like big afros & long braids I love emo hair esp long emo hair. For their style I like grunge/alt/emo omg I’m describing my ex guys sorry.

Androgynous men and women. I like skinny tall men and also chubby cute ones. Excess muscles are a total turnoff. For women, I don't mind the size. My favourite type of people are the ones who are very pale with black hair. And I love ginger hair on anyone. A must is an interesting face and short nails.

Ouuu that's cool, why are muscles a turn off?

Because it gives off a feeling of excessive strength. It always frightened me. I have images of the guy using that strength against me. I did go to the gym when I was a teen to support my back before breast reduction, I had to otherwise the weight might leave me hunched. I easily took on muscle and felt how fast I didn't know my strength anymore. Crushing a cola can was as easy as if it was a piece of paper.

I looked at the huge men around the gym and shuddered: a guy like that could literally kill me with just a well adjusted slap. No thanks. I stopped sports after my operation.

I exclusively dated men who were significantly weaker than me and couldn't physically hurt me even if they attempted to. It wasn't difficult , since I always was attracted to elvish men. Plump boys attracted me too, maybe unconsciously because well, they tend to be softies who hate to run.

Girls who swoon over Conan type physiques just don't realise the danger.

I get that even with male friends as a ftm although im a dude n in sure my boys see me as one but sometimes the way cis men switch up is weird so u gotta stay ready nm what

I'm not a binary guy, and my type is mostly queer4queer. I'm most attracted to non-conformity i suppose, but usually I'm attracted to personality/vibes.

Physically I'm not picky, although I do half-joke that I want a lady that could pick me up like Bane picked up Batman and snap me over her knee 😂

I'm into people who are kind, thoughtful, etc and also someone who isn't afraid to pull me up on something when I'm accidentally being a dick.

I'm attracted to other androgynous nonbinary people and soft or feminine men. A guy doesn't have to crossdress, but if there's no hint of "uwu soft boi", I'm not interested. I'm a casual person who doesn't do relationships right now, and the people I end up with the most are probably best described as "cis gnc twinks". A lot of them are casual runners, or have other active hobbies like train chasing. Basically something that keeps them fit without them being a gym rat. I'm a yoga instructor myself.

Bruh my two most significant relationships were with queer femme/cis women who knew me before or during transitioning. Trying to date once I started to pass as a man was HARD. I have very gay mannerisms and most people just assume I’m a short cis gay guy. I’m still very attracted to bi/pan/lesbian women because that’s all I knew pre-transition, but they don’t like me so much because I don’t have a dick or because I have facial hair 🫠 I actually ended up meeting another trans guy at work and we just clicked. I don’t have to explain my body and we just get each other. My first time dating a guy so that’s weird but what can I say? I love him.

i loveeee a tall woman,, currently dating a lovely tomboyish lady a couple inches taller than me and she is the light of my life!! at this point i’d say im strictly t4t but if this current relationship doesn’t work out idk what i’ll do haha

i’m generally attracted to people who are also non-conforming, particularly outside of the gender binary. atm i’m feeling relatively t4t but it’s not super strict. i like queer masculinity, esp hypermasculinity, in people who don’t identify as men, muscles, and alternative styles/presentation. i also prefer scientists

I don't have any types physically tbh, but I'm always more drawn to alternative folk as I'm a punk myself! Not because it's specifically attractive to me even, it's just usually a signal that someone is gonna be politically aligned w me! (note: this doesn't work anymore in the current age lol) I will say, I prefer people who are generally within a few inches of me - I'm man enough to admit I'm pretty insecure about my height haha

Tbh I have little experience with dating and I haven't been in the head space for it for years so I can't say for sure. In terms of presentation, I guess I like masc or androgynous presenting people.

I just know I want someone who's on the same page with me when it comes to my rights, someone preferable black as well but I don't really care on the larger scheme, someone who is open minded, outgoing enough and weird in a good way lol.

I also do know for a solid fact that I don't want someone way too romantic, it makes me uncomfortable and uneasy and I feel compelled to be the same in return when I'm just not like that, especially right off the bat. I like someone I can spend my days with like a best friend but our bond exceeds that of a friendship ya know?

nonwhite as a hard line, and preferably not cis. masc4masc would be ideal but it’s not a lot of mascs w similar mindsets.
