First TV

Post image

Bought my first home with my girlfriend at 23. I really enjoy heaving good audio and visuals when watching movies. Got an OLED 65” paired with Dali speakers and Marantz audio system.

Girlfriend wanted that table with the plants on the right. I like it, because it hides the Wi-Fi but it feels a bit cluttered. How do we like this setup? Was thinking about a third speaker on top, but that might be too much?

Where is the center of this wall? Just in case

This was the first thing that I noticed too. Center it to the wall if you can.

Care to tell me where to improve. Might be able to adjust some stuff.

I think they just meant that you missed out on a lot because this is your first TV, not criticism about the design

Be kind to yourself in that you are just getting on your feet. Most people who have just moved in don’t have a setup this nice. People on here are also crazy critical and act like money can be printed lol.

Yes that’s true. I know i’m already in a fortunate situation to be able to have what I have. Thanks 🙏🏼

This height seems Ok considering that stand is very short... although it depends on how the sight lines are from the couch, def no higher!

I have a 65" OLED and love it. In this room I'd love to see you eventually go even bigger!!! LOL

Different perspective. I agree that it shouldn’t go any higher. Bigger is better, but my living room is not deep enough for an even bigger tv 😂

Great perspective. Comfy and immersive.

Looks very nice. With that height (nice) you can even put the Amp or a turntable on top!  (Also a stereo lover and Marantz owner here)

PS: also have a similar big plant as yours.

Pull the speakers out from the wall a bit and toe them in a bit, too.

Nice but I feel when you hang a TV, you have to hide the wires!!

This is amazing for a first setup, there are plenty of posts in this sub that cost 5x more but looks 10x worse... People have a tendency to want to fill up space and cram shit in but I think this looks fine, if I'm being nitpicky I'd say you're mixing wood tones a bit and the cold vs warm color contrast isn't amazing, the round elements, especially that corner table hiding the router could be swapped out but again nitpicking

You are off to a great start! Sorry to disagree with a gal pal but I do not understand that corner at all. Pretend flowers are never a good idea because well because they are pretend. Im not sure what the purpose of the little vase is but it really creates an imbalance. Would you consider a real plant? Your options are limitless. Just one medium sized plant on that table would change the whole look and feel of that corner. Otherwise, nice job!

Looks really nice ! I am in the same situation as you also a newly first time buyer with my girlfriend and also 23 ! Been in my place for a month now! OLED is the way to go for sure. Looks like a very relaxing setup ! I really like the plant and Matt on the left !
