4) sweat

5) CYSM (rock version)

A serious concern regarding TXT’s collaboration with ivi

Thumbnail x.com
74 Upvotes

I wanted to bring attention to an issue that I think deserves discussion, especially among MOAs.

TXT are currently involved in a collaboration with ivi, a Russian streaming service, while Russia continues its war against Ukraine. As a Ukrainian fan, I find this deeply upsetting, and I don’t think this should simply be ignored.

This is not about attacking TXT or blaming the members for decisions made by their company. The concern is about companies continuing to do business in Russia and involving artists in these partnerships despite the ongoing war.

I’ve linked a thread below with more information about the situation and some ways to raise awareness. I hope you’ll take a moment to read it rather than letting this issue be overlooked.

Setsuna Hanabi MV lore and proposed timeline of events

So after watching the behind the scenes for setsuna hanbi mv, we got a couple confirmations, as well as some new story points, which allows us to form a clear and complete timeline of events

so first taehyun is a rich guy in a psych ward, which was theorised earlier, but he mentioned that he was in the psych ward due to guilt. now previously i assumed it was because of identity issues, and the punching of the mirror was my basis for that, but he said he punched it due to anger issues.

Now this begs the question, why does he feel so much guilt? It is very possible he feels the guilt for yeonjun's death, since he, kai, and gyu bought him the motorcycle that ultimately lead to his...is what i initially thought. it seems more like they probably altered it in some way since yj had the same bike at the start of the mv, and that was at 4:55 in the morning irl, but yj comes to say he almost died at 3:55. can't be am, since it was still light outside, so it's pm. now yj and soob are wearing fits different from when he got beat up so we can assume that rather than seeing it as events happening in the same day, we can simply assume this is a way for them to tell us that the yeonbin bl scene comes earlier in the timeline. it also makes more sense logically since there's no way a bike can be fixed that fast. maybe. idk i've never owned a bike.

bike at start of MV
bike when yj and soob were having their bl scene

we assumed the debt collectors were after yj, considering he got beat up by them, but from the new info we get, soobin is the one they're after, so why did they beat up yj? considering they're friends, yeonjun wants to protect or save soob and so beats the debt collectors up, which is what motivated them to cut his brakes.

notice that his bruises at the start of the MV when he says "i almost died" and while fighting the debt collectors are the same, which stands to reason that the opening scene comes after his fight w the debt collectors.

start of MV
during the fight, from the behind the scenes

before taehyun comes to find soobin, his workshop is already trashed by the debt collectors, and yeonjun is nowhere to be seen. this, paired with the fact that taehyun is in his psych ward clothes, shows that it's after yeonjun's accident. since there were no previous shots of soobin being terrorised, it stands to reason that yj kept them away, and to get back at him for beating them up and to remove the barrier to soob, they cut his brakes, effectively leaving him defenseless. tyun, unable to do anything for his friend, but knowing that he is in danger, punches the mirror out of frustration and immediately runs to soob upon his escape.

now tyun is rich, so why couldn't he have paid off soob's debt or helped him financially in some way? this is only plausible if we assume tyun himself is rich. see, in previous ot5 shots, he wears the same clothes as everyone else, and brings regular beer, instead of more expensive alcohol to the rooftop (i assume it is regular beer idk i don't drink, but judging from the cardboard box it seems like it). the only really expensive thing he owned was his watch, and we can assume that was from an older time, and not recently bought. real tyun also mentioned his parents put him in the psych ward, so it's possible that tyun is in some way cut off from his rich background. not many other explanations for him being so close with the other 4, who seem to be from middle class families. any theories about this are welcome!

theories about kai wanting to be a kendoka is also confirmed, and since he loses the match, it is not a stretch to assume he messed up the job interview

gyu's storyline honestly doesn't have a lot going on unfortunately. he's an aspiring musician, but that's about all we get. if anyone has any gyu theories i'd love to hear it!

now that we've established a rough sequence of events for soob's, tyun's, and yj's storylines, let's address the elephant in the room.

kai's and gyu's storyline's place in the timeline is a little more ambiguous. honestly we could place their storylines anywhere in the timeline and it'd fit well, without posing any issues to the timeline or any theories. personally, i'd like to place kai's storyline of failing his job interview before the ot5 drinking scene because it makes for a more compelling story (since he couldn't get over his friend's demise, he messed up)

but you see, the main issue i had w this scene is that taehyun was a wearing a blue cardigan on top of white clothes in the ot5 drinking scene, similar to the fit he had on in the psych ward, and soob was wearing the blue overalls he had on when the debt collectors came, BUT yj was bruised up in the same way he was after fighting the debt collectors and saying he almost died. this throws a wrench at my timeline theory, BUT, i went back to watch the MV at 0.25 speed and analysed the scene to find that yj acts as though he isn't actually at the table.

stay w me

ot5 drinking scene

tyun is speaking, gyu looks at him, as one would when someone is speaking, while yj doesn't. he actually looks up only once tyun is done speaking. now is this a stretch? yes very much, but shh

notice also that his face is bruised up in the same way as the start of the MV

but, when he comes in the start, soob's workshop is fine. it's difficult to tell with the obstructions and clarity issues, but you can tell from the spring thing i circled being in place at the start

start of MV
after soob's workshop got trashed

tyun also isn't wearing the psych ward fit at the start of the MV

tyun at MV start

in fact, not only is he not wearing the psych ward fit, he's wearing the fit he was wearing when they gave yj his bike

tyun giving bike to yj

notice the same cut/colour of shirt and shorts. kai and gyu were also wearing the same fit. we can take this to mean that both the fight and yj getting the bike happened on the same day

now this begs the question; was the bike being fixed before or after yj fights the guys? clearly before, since he doesn't have any bruises

yj when getting the bike

so yj got the bike fixed before he went to beat up the debt collectors, went to fight them, they say the new bike, and that's how they figured out how to get rid of him.

now for my proposed hallucinated timeline, which won't include the choreo scenes because you can't pay me to figure out where a mechanic, a biker dude, an aspiring musician, a disgraced chaebol, and an unemployed dude dance like chinese douyin boys fit into the timeline. or maybe you can, i need to go to uni soon.

ot5 rooftop scene and beach scene: we can assume these to be earliest in the timeline due to the photo soobin looks at when the debt collectors trash the house, and because it makes the most sense when i lay out the rest of the info

yeonbin bl scene: this comes next, they're both established friends and that's why they walk leisurely and talk comfortably and act like they're in a bl.

yj gets his bike back: takes it to the debt collectors' place. likely that he went to them after soob mentions them, as everyone looks pretty grim and don't seem shocked by yj's arrival at the start of the mv

yj goes to fight the debt collectors and comes back to soob's workshop all beat up: self-explanatory

debt collectors cut his brakes: seems like he parked the bike next to soob's workshop and they followed him and did it there, and so when he leaves, that's when the accident happens

yj goes to ride his bike and has an accident: results in a catalyst event which leads to (1) tyun being admitted into the psych ward out of guilt, (2) soob being vulnerable to the debt collectors, (3) kai messing up his job interview

soob's workshop gets trashed

taehyun escapes the psych ward and runs to soob's workshop

simultaneously, kai fails the interview

ot4+1 drinking scene: at some point gyu joins in, and they go drinking. yj's presence could mean they're still not over him and/or are reminiscing about their time as friends

ot4 scene in the beach

extra things i thought were cool but didn't have place to mention or can't explain, or just details and things i thought were cool:

- tyun's watch seems to be set to the time yj entered soob's workshop. can't see it clearly but the minute had is deffo on 9, and it looks like the hour hand is between 3 and 4. i'd like to think the watch no longer works and he has the time permanently set to when he last saw everyone together

- the clock in soob's workshop moves backwards. now i cannot be bothered to figure out what this means. somebody in this sub said it might be a time loop (sorry i forgot which thread and i don't remember the username TT), and the clock seems to be supporting that. now we can argue it could be a timeloop. last on my timeline is the ot4 beach scene, and first is either the ot5 beach scene or the rooftop scene, so it's very much possible within my proposed timeline asw.

timestamp is 01:38 btw, watch it in 0.25 speed to see it clearly.

- i remember seeing a yt short and a post on this sub that a white figure proposed to be yj was walking in the opposite direction at the end of the mv during the ot4 scene, but i watched it and that doesn't seem to be the case, but it would've been cool if that was true , so i went back to check and realised i was looking at the wrong place🤦‍♀️

there is a white figure/shadow moving, so the time loop theory could very well be true. maybe the ending scene is the start of the loop, with ot4 being friends already and meeting yj at the beach, thus causing all these events, ending at ot4 on the beach reminiscing, and starting the loop again.

anyways yeah this is my timeline! there are quite a few shaky aspects to it, but it does make everything fit nicely together and explains most questions, and it seemed like the most satisfactory sequence of events to me. sorry for the long post, i didn't realise i'd be writing this much when i started out TT

lore/theories megathread?

mods, would it be possible to have a megathread for lore and theory discussions? love txt lore and discussing it, and it gets a little difficult to keep track of everyone's theories when its different posts. so if everyone is ok with it, could we have a thread specifically for the setsuna hanabi mv and any other future mv/release

Theories about their new M/V

Thumbnail

Hey guys ! I wanted to ask a question to ya'll about the new TxT comeback, basically i've watched the M/V an hour ago twice and it really made me emotionnal, especially the end of the M/V it is crazy how untouchable their discogramhy is and how they show their love to Moas in sm different ways it always amaze me. This M/V looked straight up like a movie and i do really need a movie from them actually with their concept and lore you know ? Anyways...i told my friend about the end of the movie when Yeonjun has a motorcycle accident and disappear ? Turning into a spark ? Is that the metaphore ? I still have to watch it again to know. And i cried when he disappeared and saying the last sentence where he was asking why they never found love. (Dont ask me why i cried btw lmao im just very sensitive.) Then the 4 other members walks in the beach together and then there's a shift from the four of them to the entire group. I told this to my friend and their theory is maybe dumb but they say that it probably symbolizes that Yeonjun might pull up a Heeseung...that he disapeared because he's going solo or whatever. Now i wanted ya'll to actually tells me what it means for you ?like what are ya'll theories ? And do you think Yeonjun could really leave ?

Setsuna Hanabi MV Theory Spoiler

This took a lot of rewatches but I think the mv isn't linear. So we're just getting different pieces strung together. This would probably mean Yeonjun survived the crash bcs he only has the injuries while in the outfit in the opening scene and he's explaining he almost died. Becuase one of his creditors(?) cut the brakes of his bike prossibly because of that fight they had near the beginning of the mv. I think they're all trying to find their place in life. Yeonjun with his thrill-seeking (riding). {Also very very minor side note this kind of reminds me of the BSD scene where Dazai is telling Atsushi he'd like to go as beautifully as a firework.) Obviously in this timeline Yeonjun isn't dead but that's some interesting imagery of a life that burns as beautiful and bright as a burning firework (I will interpret this along the line of passion and desire bcs we see Yeonjun give Taehyun the keys so perhaps he's taking a break from racing and perhaps passing it onto Taehyun(?)

The next most explored person is Soobin, his mentor/father figure was the one who owned the repair shop. Yeonjun and Soobin probably met during that one Yeonbin scene on the bridge bcs it looked like Yeonjuns bike had a breakdown hence he calls a nearby mechanic shop (I'm assuming Soobin fixes at a very low rate cause they all look broke) and they met. Idrk how the other fit in together but I think the closest and the ones who first met are Yeonbin. And in the opening I think Soobin is fixing the bike that the creditors broke mid mv

Next we have Hyuka at a job interview. I think this is what they're later celebrating by drinking bcs he's wearing the same clothes (I'm also going to take this as he was accepted). The Kendo (?) scene seems to be more like Kai's perception. How he's viewing the questions in the interview and I do think he didn't succeed (because he was looking rlly out of it in that one scene where and office worker (?) bumped into him. This also means he's trying to conserve a small bout of hope for the group so they can try to celebrate his success (though he didn't actually make it). I think him falling down against his opponent also signifies this. Idk if Kendo is supposed to be a part of his character but it does feel like it's more of a representation bcs it would make sense. He's fighting for a position against others he doesn't know (other interviewees). I also think he might have had a passion for the sport which he's translating into the interview bcs though he doesn't want a corporate job he needs it and he'd rather have his game face on for it

Beomgyu seems to be an unsuccessful musician. Either that he lost contact with the rest of his bandmates (this is an interesting callback to real life Beomgyu bcs though he got into a group it wasn't exactly a band). We can also see him playing a guitar in the beginning of the mv asw. The MOA sign kinda seems like he's longing for MOA. I feel like we can interpret this as him longing for fans to consume his work. So I think he feels like he's in a dump bcs of that

Taehyun had the least context of this. Couple of things tho is that he has violent self destructive tendencies (of he was js being edgy) and he also had a forehead injury which could be by falling or by banging his head. The next few times we see him he's escaping the hospital and also being with the group. I do think it's interesting he's the only member shown with a specific material belonging. I feel like the watch associates some wealth to him along with the fact that it looks like a nice private hospital. I feel like Taehyuns story revolves more around him finding a purpose (as does Kai and Beomgyu) bcs hes already rich (the other two aren't shown to be so tho) whereas Yeonbin are fully just trying to survive. They're story is entirely revolving around debt and conflict.

I think the final shot is a flashback to a happier time, through Yeonjuns eyes bcs there's only 4 members and we saw that was moments after he got in an accident. I feel like its the mini flashback to a happier moment he had b4 his supposed 'death'. But we know he survives bcs of the beginning

[This is basically a copy paste from a comment I made, also apologies for the typos]

Edit: u/Traditional-Shake373 pointed out that there is a scene in the mv where while they are walking towards the sea there is also a figure dressed in white moving away from the sea a little further away. What are you thoughts on this?

Edit 2: u/decemberskyies has mentioned a very thorough theory about the possibility of it being a timeloop. I hope everyone can take some time to read it out and upvote it

Misheard Lyric - Dear Sputnik

I was properly listening to the song semi deciphering the words and there's this one instance where Taehyun(and later Soobin) says call me destiny which, no matter how many times I listen to it, I keep hearing it as call me Disney. Just wanted to see if anyone else feels this as I've never seen it mentioned in a misheard lyric video. I thought it was a fun quirk of the song. Yes, I'm using this as an excuse to get more people to listen to Dear Sputnik
