27F here. This is the actual height of my family members, and to make matters worse I’m South Sudanese & specifically Dinka which is known to be tall people and on top of that I live in Scandinavia which also has a very tall population.

What went wrong in my childhood? Many things and doctor said I reached average height (almost) due to my Dinka heritage, otherwise I’ve would been much shorter.

People always assume the netherlands is built for giants because were the tallest on average, but at 2m+ you will realise your big everywhere you go

it wasn't from zero, the heaviest i've ever been was 81kg

and I've been skinny my whole life.

it's really hard to gain weight at 6'2 and higher

but it's hella worth it when you reach it

I’m 198cm, and for a very long time I hated being this tall and skinny. ( first 2 photos are now, the latter are before training )

When I was 160lbs, I felt like I was always wearing someone else’s clothes. Nothing fit like it should, I was a walking clothes hanger. Everything that I wore fit like a bag, and frankly it sucked.

Some people eat, some people find it tricky, me being the latter.

It took a long time to learn how to pick up the fork, alongside growing to realise that I needed 4000 calories + of food to fuel my body. After I started properly training it took years to add noticeable mass to any part of my body. Long limbs are a sucker.

Current stats:
Weight: 210lbs ( 95kg )
Waist: 31in
Shoulder bone width: 20.5in
Limbs: LONG

If you are tall and skinny and hate how you look right now I genuinely want this to be of some encouragement for you. Being 6’4”+ doesn’t mean you’re destined to look lanky forever, it just takes a lot of food, consistency and patience to fill a frame that long.

You can fill the frame. Pick up the fork, and if it’s not straight junk, eat it.

Has anyone tried shoe insoles or custom made shoes to icrease hieght? I find it's also better for my posture.

Has anyone taller person tried a custom made shoe? Or removable inserts? Any recommendations?

Tall women of Reddit, have you ever been told or have you discovered that being tall makes you intimidating or a "dealbreaker"?

This happens to line up with my Amsterdam trip. Seems like it happens every year!

I was in my early 20s when I first saw Tenet, and when Elizabeth Debicki appeared on screen I thought "wow who is this gorgeous tall woman?" I googled her and was thrilled to discover she was 6'3. I was so happy that Nolan didn't try to hide her height in the film and that she was the love interest of a shorter man.

As I explored the movies and series she’s been in, I realized what an excellent actress she is. As a 6'1 young woman myself, it felt amazing to see someone so talented on screen whom I could finally relate to (even though I’m nowhere near as beautiful as she is)! It reassured me that a woman that tall could still be desirable, and hearing several men talk about how attractive she is irl really healed me. It was a refreshing change from the usual hype around tiny cute girls (like Jenna Ortega, Ariana Grande and recently Inde Navarette).

Whenever I feel insecure about my appearance, I watch her interviews and read the comments to remind myself that despite my height, I too can be considered attractive and feminine.

Tall people always just feel average from their perspective until they get in the group picture/duck to go through a door etc...

i am around 6 6 6 5 and owning a scooter has been wonderful so my recommendation for people having issues with bikes stand up as was intended.

Well, it's not a secret that most tall people get asked if they play basketball? But how often you get asked about volleyball if any at all?

What brand and size do you wear? How big are you and how do they fit?

I'm about 220 and have been wearing Levi's 550's for years. 36x38. I can get them in a washed blue or black and they fit pretty well. Just curious what else is out there. (...and why no odd sized waist after 34? I'd really like 35x38 but they don't make it!?)

I went to the bar tonight, and had an awful time. I'm a quite reserved, respectful man that always states intentions and is just cautious in all terms of life.

I had a few short guys that made me uncomfortable with how they interacted. Mainly, there woman asked me a question and they would eye me down for no reason? (🤷‍♂️)

Also, height inflation is weird but oh so true. 😭🤦‍♂️ Had multiple people tell me I wasn't 6'8. I finally just agreed with them and said, "Yea, i'm 6'9". (It was my crocs adding .5"....😅)

Had a guy ask how tall I was, and when I said 6'8 he scoffed and like pushed me away with his hand. (idk how to explain it?) I told him, "What you think i'm lying?" and he turned around and said, "Oh, no, I believe you." A lot of weird handshakes tonight too. 🤔

It's a real conundrum, its too special to try and replace it and i dont want to hack up the seat to make more room. it is pretty comfortable as is, just a little claustrophobic
