Finally did it

After being hardstuck in Diamond for three years, I finally reached Master tier in Solo Queue playing exclusively Talon in the jungle. It has been a long journey to get here. I started mastering Talon jungle back in 2020 to the point where no other champion is fun for me anymore and I’ve now racked up over 2 million mastery points.

To many, achieving a goal in a video game might seem trivial, but for me, it meant much more than that: it was about learning and bettering myself.

I believe that with interest, self-criticism, persistence, and a desire to learn, anyone is capable of getting there.

First of all, congratulations brother.

Im playing with talon now, what advices do u have so i can become a better talon player in terms of the champ itself and they way i should play him ?

Also, u said u play talon exclusively, does that mean that if the enemy team has only 2 squishy champs and the rest are tanks u still go talon ? And how do u make it work ?

I’ll try to share the tips that have worked for me personally: try to get early kills to maximize your impact during the early and mid-game. In the late game, I focus on taking out the carry, they are squishy; that’s always my primary target. Sometimes I might camp in a bush for over a minute to pull it off, but that move can win you the game in the later stages. Abuse your E to gain a tempo advantage; for instance, if you clear efficiently starting at Raptors, many junglers will try to steal that camp when it respawns. Thanks to your E, however, you can be there just in time with items bought to punish the invade.

Try to steal objectives; if you think you can jump into the Dragon or Baron pit using your E without a high risk of dying, go for it fearlessly. Use your R’s invisibility to stay alive. I’ve managed to turn games around by stealing Baron or Elder Dragon, jumping over multiple walls without being spotted by wards. Don't be afraid to take a long route around to set up a better gank; use your Vaulting ability to gank from unexpected angles.

As for your second question: yes, I always pick Talon, regardless of the situation. Having only two squishy champions on the enemy team doesn't make the game unwinnable just trickier. It also teaches you how to play from a disadvantageous position and how to play from behind, which I think is the hardest part of mastering this champion. In games like that, my goal is always to assassinate those two champions and build items that offer more survivability and utility. I also focus on getting deep vision thanks to my easy escape and pushing lanes effectively using my W.
