TASKER Has this happened to you?
Apparently I had about 2 minutes to reply?

Could be for any number of reasons. Had someone try to schedule me for the next day. We chatted and then they cancelled. I wondered for a bit if I wasn’t confident enough. But I also thought they might have needed someone the same day and I wasn’t available.
It turns out it was actually the latter. They scheduled me later and apologized for cancelling earlier.
Then there was the time I did a great job with getting a client’s package from the lost and found. They rebooked me for another task - they needed something picked up from a hotel and shipped out. I let them know on Sundays the post office is closed but I could pick it up and mail it out Monday. I even let them know I might be able to get it done earlier even though I wasn’t scheduled. They told me to hold to schedule the task for Monday and to hold off on the pick up. They then cancelled the task on me.

Speaking of flakey, I had two customers book twice each this week. Asked support to edit so I don’t get punished for the cancellation. Didn’t work. They promised it would NOT affect my performance rating and boom. Dropped to 30%.

Sometimes it’s the system canceling a task for reasons unknown. Doesn’t happen a lot but in six years I think it’s happened 2-3 times (not in a few years though).

Yup. Lots of flakes out there. I always imagine they never realize the cost, do a double take at said cost in those 2min, and then cancel in a panic like it was a bomb on TV with 1 second remaining.
Or, just AI messing with you.

I had that happen to me literally just now. I responded to someone and said there might be more damage above the patch. She responded and said “oh we already fixed the leak we just need to patch it” and ten minutes later canceled. Like am I required to respond immediately even though it’s 7pm? Come on now.

Happens all the time. Usually the client just realized their was a problem with their original request and cancels it.
