CLIENT California DMV

New to California and need a person with a valid drivers license to accompany me to the DMV in Irvine. Wondering if taskrabbit is a service I can use for this?

Depends on specifically what you need, but Taskers can't take you in their car.

Is it possible to just meet up with them at a dmv and then if I get asked if I came with a person with a valid drivers license just point to them?

The conflicting part:

Situation #3: “I have a DL issued by another country.”
If you have a DL issued by another country, follow the application process listed above for “I have a DL issued by another state.”
You’ll also need to pass a driving test to obtain an original California DL.
To take your driving test:
Schedule a driving test appointment (driving tests are not given without an appointment).
Provide proof of financial responsibility (insurance) that meets or exceeds California insurance requirements.
NOTE If you have a valid DL from another country, an accompanying driver is required to and from the drive test.

I have no clue what their role is other than sit at the dmv and wait for me

So, you want them to lie and say you drove together? Just lie to the DMV, right?

It wouldnt be lying if I picked them up and then drove to the dmv together and away?

Right, but i thought someone else said you cant drive together? Im not criticizing you for lying, I lie all the time. I feel like DMV employees in Southern CA dont care about stuff like that, but I am a US citizen. I let my smog go months past when I was supposed to have it, and they didn't fine me or anything.

I think the other person said they can’t take “me” in their car. But wondering if I can drive “them”
