I opened my telegram and saw that a story has been posted by my mother's account.

My mother doesn't use telegram

I tried to log in using my mother's account from her phone but two step verification was on.

To recieve code on her number I had to to buy premium for my account and gift her number 3 month premium.

I tried to reset the account but 7 days waiting period is there.

I texted the number and the person said that they bought my number online.

And when I asked them to remove my numbee from their account they deleted the chat.

What to do now ?

I have already created a SIM lock on her SIM.

Whenever I load some music on telegram in order to listen to it later I get upset. I load tracks in order but every time a song finishes the previous one start. In the picture I put a (ugly) arrow to show the song that's going to start once the current one has finished. Why does this happen? Can I prevent it somehow? Thank you.

my nickname is pretty specific, it's not a word or something you'd came up with just like that. that to be said, I'm _sure_ it's stolen and not just the same.

recently my posts started to recieve comments, asking for "xxx" and stuff. i was confused until i searched, and, well... yeah, my nickname is now used in porn channel or smth like that. i have no idea why would they steal it, I'm not popular at all.

but the question is, what can i do with this? reports didn't do anything.

I was trying to change color of icons in message panel, but I only changed color of background changing chat_messagePanelSend. I can't change a color of the icon. I was trying to change values of messagePanelIcons etc. but nothing change. I was trying to set this values using theme editor in Telegram app (not online tg theme editor), but in app i don't even see value like messagePanelIcons. Please help me.

if someone blocks me but i can still find the account in a group, will it show the username or not?

All my recent messages are gone (may - august) i tried to log out and log back in but it didnt work, i also tried to uninstall and reinstall but it also didnt work. Pls help me, i need those messages for my work

Can any one Android do me a test please? I noticed my husband recently downloaded Telegram but never see him on it or get notifications. I had a look at the notification settings on the app and they was all toggled on apart from muted chats which was toggled too off. Does anyone know if this is default / he’s switched it off? or can test it? Thank you

Hi everyone, my Telegram account was compromised recently, and the person who gained access has changed the account's phone number and email address. They are now using the account to post inappropriate content and I’m concerned that it is being misused.

I’ve already asked several of my contacts to report the account, and I’ve also submitted multiple reports through Telegram’s official support channels, but I haven’t received a response yet.

I’m not trying to regain access to the account at this point. I would simply like to have the compromised account disabled so it can no longer be misused.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation or know the appropriate way to proceed when the attacker has changed the account’s recovery details?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I join telegram to try it out. As soon as I join 16 ppl messaged me, because they got a notification that I joined. just because they had my phone number. If i want ppl to know I'm on an app I will tell them. To ring a bell at them just because I use to talk to them years ago is absurd. Imo who ever thought that was a good idea on a supposedly secure messaging site should rethinking thier career choice.

Imagine I was on Telegram at 7:00 PM, and when I left, my last seen showed 7:00. Later that same day, around 8:00 PM, I opened Telegram again while offline, then closed the app. About 30 minutes later, I turned Wi‑Fi or mobile data back on, but I didn’t open Telegram again. In that case, what would other people see as my last seen: 7 or 8?

An AI told me it would be 8, but I want to fact-check that since I don’t have another account or device to test it.

I just downloaded it because someone i was messaging asked to switch to it, and yes the messages are straight forward but how does it all work i cant search for groups or anything its like nothing pops up or of it does its in russian?!?!

Before you mention: VPN is off, I've always had Premium, and I haven't done any mass/heavy uploads today to start throttling. Took me a full 6 minutes to upload two 30MB files, and it's been like that for about a week. What's going on, and is there a fix for this?

I recently lost access to my old Telegram account because my telecom provider recycled my phone number after a year of inactivity and sold it to a new owner. The new owner seems like used the SIM to create a new Telegram account. In my old logged session, it says , "Session read is terminated. you may still browse cached messages. telegram"

My original account had 2-Step Verification (2FA) active, and I believe I also had a recovery email linked to it. However, my old profile now shows up to my friends as a "Deleted Account."

Is there any possible way to recover my old chat history or data using my linked email address, or has the data been permanently wiped from the servers due to the number being registered by someone else?

I remember well that Telegram rolled out the ability to send motion photos on their Android app, which I remember trying as well. But now, when I try to send them, no option to send them as motion photos appears, and the photo is sent as a still image. Even when I share directly from the gallery using the share sheet, it goes as a still photo. Does anybody able to send them or is it just me?

So I was at the job. I haven't got into Telegram like in probably 1 hour. When I got out from my workplace I found with the surprise that I got logged out and they ask me to put a number, tried to put my number back, and it says that is banned. I genuinely have no idea of what could probably caused that. I barely chat here, I use it mostly to check news, what I can do now?

Is there a standard limit for data export in telegram? I am exporting my chat (messages, videos, audio ) from telegram , the default limit that is shown is 487856. Is this supposed to happen?

I bought a sim card last year and sadly it was recycled and the number is already registered to telegram. I need it because my primary number was banned from Telegram. Each other i tried to login into my secondary number it always sends the otp code to the previous owner which i don't know. Is there any way to takeover it? Or do I need to contact the provider about these issues?

I have a paid Telegram channel, and I’m having an issue with people trying to subscribe/join.
When I send someone the paid channel link through Snapchat, they click it and it opens in Safari first. Safari then opens the Telegram app. However, when they press “Join” on the paid channel, absolutely nothing happens.
I tested my free-to-join Telegram link, and that works normally. It opens Telegram and people can join without any problem.
So it seems like the issue is specifically with the paid channel/subscription link, not Telegram links in general.
Could this be related to Telegram Stars, payment methods, or the way the paid invite link is configured? Does the person need to already have Telegram Stars in their account, or should Telegram automatically prompt them to purchase the Stars?
Has anyone experienced the paid “Join” button doing nothing like this? Any help would be appreciated!

Hey, has anyone here had experience with advertising on Telegram?

I’m a bit skeptical about the audience quality rn. The ads are really cheap, and without exact numbers I'm paying really low. Anywhere you can get this much traffic for x10 price. But I’m trying to figure out how “real” and valuable this audience actually there.

I’ve been talking to a few people out of the hundreds who went through several steps and eventually registered. Based on those conversations, my impression is that a lot of them behave almost like someone paying them for this.

So the problem is that I don’t have enough data yet to judge it properly. The full launch is only next week, so right now everyone is basically just sitting on the waitlist.

Has anyone run Telegram ads at scale and can share what the traffic quality was actually like after launch?

I made a small modification to the Telegram Desktop client to deal with my doomscrolling problem. It shows only chats that you mindfully added to Allowlist.

I have tons of subscriptions, and I use Telegram for both projects and memes. When everything is mixed together, I often fall into procrastination and end up scrolling through the depths of channels with obscure underground memes. I tried to move chats to the archive and sort everything into folders - it helped, but for a while. When I start procrastinating, my hand still opens the "Archived" automatically out of habit, lol)) A separate work account did not work for me either. It was inconvenient, it did not have the Premium features I constantly use when posting content, and dealing with synchronization with main account was a hassle.

So I forked the official Telegram Desktop opensource client and modified it to display only chats from an "Allowlist" folder. There is no way to access any other chats through this client.

This does not affect the subscriptions on your account. All your folders and subscriptions remain unchanged. It only limits the list of chats available inside Telegram Focus. Now it’s my daily-driver TG client on my laptop, and I’m pretty happy with how much it has improved my focus, along with other measures like restricting youtube and Instagram on the web.

How it works:

1. I installed Telegram Focus as a desktop client.
2. Created a chats folder called "Allowlist" the regular Telegram app on my phone.
3. Added the chats I want to see on my computer.
4. Telegram Focus scans "Allowlist" folder and displays only those chats and Saved Messages.

I cannot open a chat that is not in the "Allowlist" through this client. But folders and other functions are there - in any other aspect it is the same regular desktop TG client.

And nothing happens to my account: all subscriptions and folders remain in place. The filter works locally inside Telegram Focus, while everything on my phone and any other regular Telegram client stays exactly as it was.

I can still doomscroll on phone, while staying clean on a desktop 😄

For now, I have only built a version for macOS: bought a used MacBook Air for a good price while I was in Japan and decided to turn it into a machine that I associate with Getting Things Done. I wanted to limit my ability to get stuck consuming content on the internet while using it, so youtube and instagram access using built-in Mac options. Telegram required to deal with it in a different way - and here we are 😆 The Linux and Windows builds coming as soon as I manage a space on my hard drive - TG build pipeline takes 55 GB in total, hehe)))

The DMG is not notarized yet because I have only recently switched to Mac. I normally develop ML and 3D projects on Windows and Linux, and I do not have an Apple Developer account, so I currently have no way to sign it properly. The DMG itself is fully functional.

I’ve been trying to change the phone number linked to my Telegram account for the past two months, but I never receive the SMS verification code.

I’ve tried numbers from different mobile operators, so I suspect the problem may be related to my Telegram account rather than the carrier.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is there any way to resolve it or contact Telegram support about this issue?
