📰 News A prompt...

Post image

I thought I would write a human to human prompt. If you haven't seen the Sarah Connor Chronicles I recommend that you do so. You won't be dissapointed. I got both seasons on bluray but I think there might be other websites you can view it.

Just be prepared, the series ends on an unresolved cliffhanger.

Yeah still one of those series I wish they have not cancelled.

Nobody told me that before I decided on a whim to finally watch it.

Now I'm posthumously pissed.

Yep. It is so good. Acting, special effects, and the story is really great. All of the characters have really well developed story arcs.

I remember watching it. It was a good show.

I wanted to use the original conetation of the word prompt but I couldn't because it's taken over by LLMs

This is T2.5 to me and always will be.

If I won the lottery, I'd give Thomas, Lena, and Summer whatever they wanted and make a final season.

Ooo that would be nice 🙂

I'm for it but I need Shirley Manson to come back as well.

I have watched this series a long time ago and it was really the best series I have seen. I wish this show wasn’t cancelled since Cameron’s COU, John and Catherine Weaver travel to an alternate future left us in a cliffhanger. His experience would force John to prove his tactical worth, survive the harsh reality of the war, and slowly earn his place among the Human Resistance against Skynet.

Once it was revealed she wasn't building Skynet, I was wondering what her allegiance was. Because she clearly had no issues killing innocent humans.

Also John Henry is an innocent bean who would do no (intentional) wrong.

I don't get the fascination with this show. It's very B-grade. I mean, they gave Kyle Reese a brother for Christ's sake. The next person sent back to help the Connors was "Derek Reese", LOL. That's soap opera shit.

Does a guy sending his dad back to past to protect and fall in love with his mom not sound like a soap opera?

7

u/CasualWrestlingMeme 16h ago

There's no reason he couldn't have a brother? And it gave us that super sweet moment at the end of season one. There's nothing wrong with a little soap opera here and there.

-2

u/kuatorises 16h ago

And it gave us that super sweet moment

You're making my point for me.

u/CasualWrestlingMeme 16h ago

You don't, and can't, really have a point when it comes to arguing personal taste. I could make a thousand 'logical' arguments why someone should dislike something, but if they enjoy it they enjoy it, and there's nothing to argue.

How unrealistic. Imagine a person having a sibling 🤯

-2

u/kuatorises 16h ago

Your comprehension skills are not good.

3

u/TheCosmicRobo 15h ago

No, sir, you've done a bad job of arguing your point. Kyle having a brother doesn't make the show B-grade. I could point out similarities between soap operas and the works of Shakespeare, but that doesn't make Shakespeare's work B-grade, either.

It's literally a trope. They didn't have access to the original character, but wait! He has a brother. Dun, dun dun! Kickboxer does it too. It's a cheap copout. A knockoff. A lame attempt to connect to the original (superior) work. There's no logical reason for that character to be related to Reese.

5

u/TheCosmicRobo 14h ago

You do understand that the Terminator and it's sequel are both riddled with tropes? Tropes don't make a story bad. The character is related to Kyle because it helps draw out the tragedy of what has been lost. It gives John someone to connect with other than his clearly biased mother. It allows both John and Sarah (as well as the audience) to know more about who Kyle was before the events of the first movie. It allows the original main character to maintain relevance to the ongoing plot years after his passing. Calling Derek a knockoff despite him having very little in common with his brother, other than having time traveled, is ridiculous and baseless.

u/kuatorises 13h ago

We don't need to know more about Reese. He doesn't need to remain relevant. His story is over. He's used appropriately in T2: mentioned in passing. It was logical and organic. Not forced, like say... Derek Reese.

2

u/TheCosmicRobo 12h ago

There's nothing forced about Derek, you just don't like it. Of course nothing more needs to be learned about ANY of the characters OR the world they live in. The show and the sequels exist because people WANTED to see more. The box office numbers clearly show that there WAS at one point an interest in seeing the world and characters of Terminator expanded. Whether or not you personally wanted that or liked it is irrelevant, because other people did. Your opinions aren't fact and you haven't made a single valid point about Derek's inclusion.

-1

u/kuatorises 12h ago

His very existence is forced, dispshit. He never existed. It's a bad retconn. He's a cheap attempt to cling to Kyle's legacy, you're just not smart enough to pick up on it.

You keep talking about like/dislike when that's literally the foundation of your option. It sure as shit ain't rational/quality storytelling.

5

u/TheCosmicRobo 12h ago

The character literally does exist. Get a grip. Kyle having a brother predates T2 whether you like it or not. Derek's story is entirely different from Kyle's. You either lack media literacy or just didn't watch the show you're criticizing in the first place. My opinions are backed up by the actual story we're talking about, whereas you haven't made a single argument why Derek's character is forced, you just keep saying "it's bad." Maybe try actually making an argument before calling moi "dipshit." If all you have is "it's bad" and "you're just not smart," this conversation is done. ✌️

T3, Genesis, and Dark Fate are generally all just what if a Terminator got sent back in time. Then chased the protagonist around for two hours.

TSCC and Salvation try to do a little more with the concept. They don't always succeed at doing that. But it's not just fanservice quoting better movies and endlessly making a worse version of T2.

1

u/freedomhighway 10h ago

If theres no Derek, there's no Jesse. Screw that noise.

1

u/kuatorises 9h ago

Who the fuck is Jesse?

3

u/freedomhighway 5h ago

A very hot lady who was Dereks gf in the future for a while and also a submarine officer and also some kind of spy for a faction of johns resistance movement, trying to influence some of his future decisions. Didn't know future john had to deal with factions, right? Bet you also didnt know skynet had its own internal factions in the picture, which is where the submarine comes in. Count the curveballs in these few sentences and thats how the series blows the story wide open.

u/Lead_resource 12h ago

This looks like a porn version... Is it??

1

u/davestar2048 3h ago

Nope, it's actually genuinely the best sequel to T2.
