About to buy a tesla and saw this error. Car sales guy said that thats an old issue and has been fixed any suggestions to insure I am all good?

I would recommend taking the car to a Tesla service center before making the purchase. If the car is still displaying an error code, it is clear that it is not in working condition.

oh heck no. Run away from this car.
Good news though. You can probably run faster than this car can move.......

1) Good job on knowing about service mode and checking for stored errors.
2) Used car sales people will say anything to make a sale.
3) If it's under the battery warranty this would likely be covered so if the rest of the car is in good condition it might be worth the risk of an inconvenience.
4) In many states you do have a return period on a used car purchase so check your local regulations.

Thanks for your kind words.
I will just bring it to a service center to check on it just figured I would see if anyone knew what it was.

Why not take it to Tesla service and ask? Or, is there not one closeby?

Latched error code, shows no active codes but is concerning, while at Tesla getting a pre purchase check make sure it's super charger capable and ask if it's still covered by warranty, specifically drivetrain and battery warranty. Also they can tell you if the pack is original.

People on here have no idea what they are talking about. It’s fine, that code often shows after a car is fully de-powered and will go away.
A true contactor fell open issue most commonly happens when the LV battery is failing, thus unable to provide enough power during pre-charge and close the contactor. If the car can go into gears no problem and checking the power distribution tab in electrical shows no issue with the LV battery, the car is fine.

You are good. This is a non-self clearing DTC and can happen for a variety of reasons. If the car drives fine and throws no other error, you are good. This alert doesn’t clear itself unless manually done. Simply press clear DTC.
I had this error pop up once when I disconnected the 12v battery incorrectly.
