"Aura farming," a term so popular nowadays among teenagers, is perfectly defined by three words: pose, ego, and superficiality. It reduces a person's authenticity, being, or wholeness to a simple scoreboard in a relentless pursuit of external validation.

Ultimately, it is a clear symptom of the spiritually degenerate times we live in, where everything is turned into a commodity, a facade, or a product to be consumed and "sold" on social media. The mystic Teresa of Ávila called the mind the madwoman of the house, which is now wilder and more untethered than ever, hunting like a junkie for what it is addicted to, feeding the persona and the ego. In the face of this constant urge to put on a show and rack up virtual points, the true alternative remains what it has always been: the simplicity of Being and the quietness of ordinary life, which require neither applause nor outside approval, neither pose nor stories...

Today, we are witnessing a total disconnection from reality and from Being itself. The madwoman of the house has found in mobile phones and social networks the perfect dealer to supply its daily dose of superficial validation. For this reason, recovering today the gaze of Western mystics like Marguerite Porete, Teresa of Ávila, John of the Cross, Brother Lawrence, Meister Eckhart, and so many others, or the yogis of the East, is not just a spiritual option; it is almost an act of pure sanity.

Fortunately, the worse everything gets, the closer our liberation is, as the Nazarene already warned us in the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 21, Verse 28, when he said that when these things begin to take place, we should stand up and lift up your heads, because our redemption is drawing near.

A New Earth is ALREADY emerging, here and now, in the hearts of those simple souls who live their daily lives beyond the illusion of separation. These simple souls are nothing in terms of aura in the eyes of the world; they surrender and allow themselves to be consumed by the burning fire of Being. They are nothing and nobody. And the truth is, one must die to the small self to be reborn as one, so that there is no longer any separation between the lover and the Beloved, between you and everything that surrounds you. Ultimately, let us go beyond the superficial, as Marguerite Porete encourages us, to find ourselves in the mirror of simple souls, that mirror the mystic spoke of, a mirror reflecting God, the Whole, He who is LOVE itself, or whatever you wish to call it. There is no separation. There never was.

So-called spiritual seekers are not free from this. What's more, without knowing it, many of them are addicted to farming spiritual aura. The truth is, there is an excess of Christians, Buddhists, and a need for more Christs, more Buddhas... Less spiritual ego, and more Being.

Aura farming? Better to format the hard drive, and be nothing. In doing so, we are everything. And that is something you can do in your boring and ordinary daily life, which, for you who do not farm aura, is neither boring nor ordinary; it is all there is and all that is, you need nothing else. When you are nothing and nobody, stripped of any pose or disguise, you become one with LOVE itself, and its instrument in this world. Out of emptiness, which is neither a void nor an absence of things, you emerge as what you truly are: one with everything. We could say, as Thich Nhat Hanh rightly states, that we inter-are. We are One.

All spiritual currents, as opposed to mere religious ones, speak to us of this unity, of this absence of separation from Being. Advaita Vedanta reminds us of this through non-duality, pointing out that the individual self, Atman, and the ultimate reality, Brahman, are not separate, dissolving the illusion of the "I" into pure, undivided Consciousness. The Buddha teaches us the same through the realization of Anatta, showing us that there is no independent self, and that by emptying ourselves of the independent ego, we cease to resist life and awaken to interconnectedness with all things. Jesus himself speaks of this absolute union when he prays for his disciples in the Gospel of John, Chapter 17, Verse 21, asking that they all may be one, just as the Father is in Him, and He is in the Father, so that they also may be one in Us.

There is a beautiful spiritual story regarding this absolute surrender, recorded by the Jesuit Father Juan de Loyola in his work The Life of Father Bernardo de Hoyos published in 1734. During a mystical marriage experience, Jesus appeared to the young Spanish mystic and told him that from then on, he could call and sign yourself Bernardo de Jesús, because he was Bernardo de Jesús, and He was Jesús de Bernardo, sharing both his honor and his own. It is the total collapse of the boundaries of the self, where the drop completely dissolves into the Ocean, and the Ocean becomes the drop. There is no separation, there never was.

Stop counting points for a ghost that doesn't exist; format the hard drive, dissolve the pose, and finally dare to Be nothing, so you can Be Everything. It is simply about Being, right here, in your ordinary and daily life.

The madwoman of the house is the term Teresa of Ávila uses to refer to the mind and the imagination. You can find her brilliant analysis of how it operates and distracts us from God's presence throughout her work The Interior Castle, specifically in the Fourth Mansions. In her original Spanish texts, she also uses other wonderfully vivid metaphors to describe this unceasing mental noise. She calls the restless mind a clacking mill-clapper because of its endless, repetitive grinding of thoughts, and a restless, flighty butterfly that refuses to stay still in the Silence of God.

"Inter-are" is a literal translation of the term "Interbeing", coined by the Vietnamese Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh in the 1980s. He created the verb "to inter-be" to express the absolute reality of interconnectedness famously stating that nothing can exist by itself alone; everything has to "inter-be" with everything else. When he wrote, "We do not exist independently. We inter-are," he was pointing to the exact same truth shared by the advaita vedanta (of non-duality) and the Mystics: the total dissolution of the illusion of a separate, isolated self.

True meditation and practice are found in ordinary and daily life...

It is what happens when one leaves the meditation cushion and the incense goes out.

I'm not saying that sitting in a meditation posture or going on a meditation retreat isn't useful. This perspective suggests that the true retreat is a "mental" retreat. It means keeping the mind clear, present, and compassionate in the middle of daily chaos, not just when everything is quiet and controlled. Sometimes sitting in a meditation posture or going on retreats can inadvertently feed a spiritual ego and consequently the idea of separation from the self.

If you feel offended by what I say, ask yourself why you feel that way. I am not attacking, I am just saying that we should consider if we have actually adopted the pose of being a meditator, instead of embodying it in our lives. In this world of easily offended people, especially among those who claim to practice spiritually, it is something to consider.

I don’t believe that backing up arguments with personal stories is useful. However, for those who might question what I’ve said, I should mention that I’ve practiced Buddhism for over 25 years and even lived as a monk for several. That is just my experience, as flawed or valid as any other. Many masters and practitioners have walked this path and shown this; I am not original. Just, consider it.

I always use the example of Lamchung, who attained enlightenment while sweeping the monastery, even though he was considered very foolish.

As I see things, the so-called "enlightenment" arrives when we empty ourselves of ourselves, of any pose, concept, and even of the supposed practices...that feed the independent self.

As the saying goes, what the wise person does at the beginning, the fool does at the end. Here, the wise one turned out to be Lamchung.

When you cook, you cook. When you walk, you walk. When you go to the bathroom, you go to the bathroom. When you sweep the house, you sweep the house.

Do you really need the meditation cushion, the incense, and all the paraphernalia? After all, you always end up lifting your ass off the cushion and returning to daily life: cooking, working, cleaning, going to the supermarket, etc.

There is no such border as many assume. There is no such thing as a space and a time for meditation. Life is meditation. And the practice itself. At least that’s how it was for Lamchung, but everyone has their own path. Again, ask yourself: Do you want to be the wise one or the fool?

People don't know how to put the teachings into practice, let alone transform their "boring" daily lives.

The crux of the matter is excessive self-importance, both from those who teach and those who supposedly listen. Few want to be like the humble and foolish Lamchung, who in the end turned out to be the wise one.

In the West, there is a mystic, Teresa of Ávila, who used to say that God is found among the pots and pans. Friar Lawrence of the Resurrection said something similar: "I find God while flipping a little omelet in the frying pan." If we set aside the prejudices that some people have when naming God, we can see the great sense in what Teresa of Ávila and Brother Lawrence said.

Again, ask yourself: Do you want to be the wise one or the fool?

Some could argue as follows: "This is New Age Dharma, because meditation is not optional for a serious practitioner. Without meditation, you won't remember mindfulness; without mindfulness, you'll lose the training developed in meditation... It's easy to say 'when you cook, you cook,' but attaining that depends on meditation practice. If it were not so, then everyone who cooks, shops, and does other daily routines would be enlightened."

No, because precisely when they cook, they don't cook. When they go to the supermarket, they don't go to the supermarket. When they go to the bathroom, they don't go to the bathroom. Etc. If you see it as routines in your boring daily life, that's the problem. They are not routines, it is your life.

I'm not telling you to neither sit on the cushion nor do retreats..., but your spiritual life doesn't depend at all on sitting on any meditation cushion or doing any retreat. Moreover, on many occasions, especially in these highly degenerate times, it is a spiritual obstacle, as it only feeds the ego and self-importance. You can see a lot of this on so-called spiritual forums.

This is not New Age Dharma. And, for example, it is taught exactly this way in Tibetan Buddhism. Even within the Gelugpa tradition, so well-known for its scholarly practitioners, this is warned against.

Lamchung is not my invention. You decide whether or not to be like Lamchung. One path will bring you a lot of effort and suffering until you finally surrender; the other, the path of the foolish Lamchung, will carry you effortlessly, without you even noticing...

Again, ask yourself: Do you want to be the wise one or the fool?

May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness. May all beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering. May all beings never be parted from the happiness that is free from suffering. May all beings dwell in equanimity, free from attachment and aversion. (The Four Immeasurables)

She learned to transform problems into happiness, and they learned to cherish their seemingly unfortunate companion... as if she were a precious treasure hard to find.

This is the living essence of many spiritual traditions and especially that of the Mind Training (Lojong) teachings, transmitted by the Tibetan master Geshe Langri Tangpa in his work "Eight Verses of Training the Mind", and many others such as Geshe Chekawa, and so on.

The Heart Sutra, one of the most sacred texts of Mahayana Buddhism, gives us the key to understanding the true nature of reality through the relationship between the physical world (form) and emptiness (Shunyata):

"(...) Form IS empty. Emptiness IS form. Form is not other than emptiness, emptiness is not other than form. Likewise feeling, discrimination, compositional factors (your habits, impulses, desires, and thought patterns), and consciousness, are empty (...)"

The Sutra states that all these elements are emptiness, and it invites you to realize that: if you look for the si-called "self" within them, you will not find it.

The so-called "self" is just an illusion and an interdependent process...

People talk about hybridization as a normal thing, but there are many question marks surrounding this issue.

We should begin by asking ourselves: why does this have to be a good thing? We already know how it ended once if we accept the scriptures of different traditions like the Christian one (see Genesis or the Book of Enoch). Also, cuneiform texts (such as the Enuma Elish or the Sumerian King List) speak of the Anunnaki, divine beings who descended from the sky. According to these tablets, these beings genetically modified or mixed their own essence with early hominids to create modern humanity as a worker species. Furthermore, the entire heroic structure of Greece is based on hybridization. Similarly, in the Hindu tradition, the Mahabharata and the Ramayana describe the Asuras and the Devas, and how gods often fathered children with human women. Finally, in Norse and Germanic mythology, there are the Jötnar (giants), who constantly mixed with the gods (Aesir and Vanir) and, at times, their lineages touched humans. And so on... It was never a happy story.

And even if we accept the premise for the sake of argument, why do we have to believe that those supposedly doing it are positive beings?

And what’s more, why do they (the hybrids) have to be celebrities (as people normally believe) and not ordinary people with seemingly ordinary lives? Does it somehow make them special?

I perceive a lot of distraction around this issue, meant to establish another form of control and to make us forget what is truly important: listening inside, looking inward, beyond the illusion of separation created by the mad woman of the house (as Teresa de Ávila called the mind), in that space of pure being and consciousness where we are One with the All, with Who that is LOVE itself... (whatever you want to call it). It is not about a lineage; it is simply about pure Being.

As the Alien says in the movie "Disclosure Day": "LISTEN!" Where? Within.

These are the most important questions we could, or rather, should, ask ourselves, but many other question marks arise.

For instance, are we dealing with a homogeneous group of entities? And are these supposed entities truly extraterrestrial? Just imagine... if they have been here for millions of years, even longer than us, and some of them were even born here, can we really call them extraterrestrials? They would be as terrestrial as you and I. Furthermore, do they actually come from outer space? Where do they really come from? Do they come from different places, realities, or locations?

And sometimes, could it even be the case that some of those entities (the ones people call extraterrestrials) are already inhabiting physical human bodies, with no need for hybridization? Is that not possible? Everything points to the fact that it is.

As we can see, there are many questions and very few certainties, if any at all. This makes us question those people who assert claims about this highly controversial topic with absolute certainty. The best we can say is Who knows! What are your opinions on this?

Edit / NOTE 3: What comes out of the Silence is not another narrative, another hierarchy, or a cosmic technique. What comes out of the Silence is simply Love in action, compassion, and the absolute presence in our ordinary daily life.

The idea that we need mature cosmic skills to manage a powerful mechanism, or the fear of being a toddler with a flamethrower, is still the mind playing its favorite game: making us feel special, complex, or part of an epic cosmic drama. The mind loves the noise of being a creator, a warrior, or an advanced student. Otherwise, you remain trapped in the trap of the character and of doing instead of being.

We would do well to question the narratives of many entities that claim to be beneficial (when they are not), silence the mind, and anchor ourselves in Being. It is not about anything else but breaking the illusion of the ego to return to the origin: to Silence and to Being. We are nothing of what the mind (the "madwoman of the house" that Teresa of Ávila used to talk about) wants us to believe. Any entity really connected to the Source would want the same for us, that same Union, that same liberation from the prison of the mind. We are ONE.

The Source does not need our skills. It does not need us to manage anything. It only needs our surrender. When the ego dissolves in that Silence, there is no toddler and there is no flamethrower. There is only the One. As long as we look at what comes out of the silence to build new stories, we are missing the Silence itself.

For instance, the messages of Buddha and Jesus are more alike than we imagine. Neither the followers of Buddha nor those of Jesus understood the teachings, which were neither about creating Buddhism nor Christianity, nor about creating Buddhists or Christians, but about having us realize inwardly, or become aware of what we already Are: One with Everything, One in Everything.

In short, more Buddhas and fewer Buddhists, more Christs and fewer Christians. Enlightenment is not found in "isms."

It is already here and now, inside of us, beyond the labels and the noise projected by "the madwoman of the house" (as Teresa of Ávila called the mind), or that untamed elephant and monkey spoken of in Buddhist representations.

Many people find it difficult to contact or connect with their spiritual guides, and they feel very frustrated that others can do it so easily...

If you are one of those people without contact or connection with your "spiritual guides", this post is for you.

Start by asking yourself a simple question: Who tells you it is true that those people connect, as they say, with their "spiritual guides"?

And assuming that contact or connection is real, who tells you they are truly "spiritual guides"?

Furthermore, in any case, what is the need to contact these supposed "spiritual guides"? Do you really need these so-called "spiritual guides"?

Ultimately, it all comes down to something very simple: what is the need for intermediaries?

Why is it so difficult for people to accept a direct relationship, without intermediaries, with God, with the All, with the One who is LOVE Himself, or whatever you want to call it?

God, the All, the One who is LOVE Himself (or whatever you want to call it), is neither a thing, nor something separate from you. Here and now there is no distance or separation, there never was, between lover and Beloved, between the servant and their Lord.

What perhaps frustrates you (that you cannot, like others supposedly can, connect or contact your "spiritual guides"), if you consider it well, might be a great blessing for you.

Who would deprive you of Union with the All, with God, with the One who is LOVE Himself? Only someone or something who does not accept and does not want you to understand that, in LOVE, we are One.

There is no such thing as "spiritual guides." A spiritual guide would never accept having that role, because they know that by doing so, they would separate you from who you truly are.

In the Silence, in a Silence that speaks, in a Silence of LOVE in which words are not needed, LISTEN! You need nothing else...

You need nothing else but the direct experience of God, here and now, in every precise and precious moment of your daily life. Do not look for extraordinary things (like spiritual guides), but live each moment of your everyday and ordinary life in an extraordinary way. Teresa of Ávila used to say that God is among the pots and pans, and Brother Lawrence said that he found God while flipping his little omelet in the frying pan.

It's always within...

NOTE 2: To clarify my view on spiritual guides: From my perspective, when we realize we are the Infinite Light itself, we no longer need "labels", "names", or "intermediaries" to connect with the Divine. However, I completely respect that, for many, guides are a beautiful and supportive tool on the final path to direct experience.

NOTE 3: My focus in this post is on the vast number of people who pray, meditate, and keep searching, yet find absolutely nothing. They don’t get the visions and voices, they don’t get the premonitions, and they don't see entities. Because of the heavy emphasis on these phenomena in spiritual circles, they end up feeling abandoned, broken, or "less advanced."

Paradoxically, what is often sought through a long, complicated journey of chasing guides and paranormal experiences, is already embodied from the very beginning by simply staying still, here and now. When there is no voice and no intermediary, the wise soul realizes that there is no distance to bridge. The absolute Silence they experience is not a lack of support; the silence itself is the embrace. It's a Silence that Speaks, it's a Silence of Love.
